MISSION STATEMENT
Tepeyac Institute is a Roman Catholic formation center for ministers in our
diocese. Started in 1988, the Institute offers a variety of formation and certificate programs for the various levels of church life within our border cultural reality. Tepeyac Institute assists laity to take their rightful role in the
life and mission of the Church. Tepeyac collaborates with other diocesan
ministries in fostering and developing specialized training for church ministry.
MINISTRY CERTIFICATION INFORMATION
The Certification Program consists of two programs: a 12 week Christian Formation Program Level I and the Ministry Training Program. At the completion of these programs the
Bishop presents a certificate which is valid for 3 years. The 12 week Christian Formation
Program Level I need only be taken once. A ministry is renewed by taking a Renewal
Program in addition to a class for updating ministerial skills. To attend a course in the
Ministry Training Program it is expected that the person has completed the Christian
Formation Program Level I (Fall 2011).
REGISTRATION
In order to provide adequate facilities and better service for those attending, please
register with plenty of time before the first day of class. Please fill out the registration
form and send it, along with the fee to:

FEE: $30.00 for 1 course $15.00 for additional course. Two persons from the same household: the first pays full price and the second pays half price. Scholarships are available
but must be submitted no later than December 31, 2011. Renewal fee: $10.00. Please
call or visit our office for more information.
INSTALLATION CEREMONY
Bishop Armando X. Ochoa will install and certify all ministers at the installation ceremony
March 23, 2012 at Most Holy Trinity Parish. All participants must attend.

CLASSROOM FACILITIES
Tepeyac facilities are located at 8330 Park Haven Road and at the Catholic Pastoral Center at 499 St. Matthews St. These classrooms are off of North Loop Drive between Lomaland and Lee Trevino.
MAKE UP CLASSES
There will be no make up classes, therefore you can not be absent to any class. Remember to stay in the course and section you signed up for. Other wise, you will not receive
credit.

Tepeyac es un Centro Católico Romano para ministros de nuestra diócesis.
Desde su inicio en el año 1988, el instituto ofrece una variedad de formación y
programas de certificación para varios niveles de la vida en la Iglesia dentro
de nuestra cultura en la frontera. El Instituto Tepeyac asiste a los laicos en su
desarrollo y entrenamiento para tomar su verdadero papel en los ministerios de
la Iglesia.
INFORMACIÓN-CERTIFICADO DE MINISTERIO
El Programa de Certificación consiste de dos programas de estudio y concluye con la instalación por el Señor Obispo o su representante. Los programas incluyen el Programa de
Formación Cristiana para Ministerio de doce semanas y el Programa de Entrenamiento. Al
terminar estos dos programas, el Señor Obispo le entrega un certificado que es válido por
tres años. Después de tres años su ministerio debe ser renovado con el Programa de Renovación y una clase de entrenamiento específica para cada ministerio. Para asistir a un
curso en el Programa de Entrenamiento se requiere que la persona haya completado el
Programa de Formación Cristiana para Ministerio previamente (Otoño 2011).

CEREMONIA DE INSTALACIÓN
El Señor Obispo Armando X. Ochoa, instalará y certificará a todos los ministros en una
ceremonia el 23 de marzo del 2012 en la iglesia de La Santísima Trinidad. Todo participante deberá atender a la ceremonia.

MTP_101 BAPTISM CATHECHIST - This course focuses on the theology of
baptism, including methods for preparing parents and godparents for the
sacrament of baptism.

MTP_108 ST. VINCENT DE PAUL MINISTRY – Learn the purpose, mission, history,
growth, and the structure of the SVDP. Topics include, spiritual aspects, identification of
resources and methods in assisting clients and procedure for “home visitations.”
MTP_102 BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY – Ministers will receive training to
start, or enhance a parish Bereavement Ministry. Topics covered include
concept of dying, death, grief, and bereavement across the life cycle along
with the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of each concept.
MTP_109 MINISTRY OF SACRISTAN AND SERVERS – The course will present the theology
of ministry, parts of the Mass and the objects that pertain to liturgical celebrations.

quinceañera, along with the customs and traditions. Learn how to plan and prepare a day

MTP_114 LITURGY OF THE WORD FOR CHILDREN – This course will present the Liturgy

espirituales; identificación de recursos y métodos en asistir a los clientes y
procedimientos para “visitas a hogares.”

PEM_126 MINISTERIO JUSTICIA CRIMINAL - Es un ministerio especializado para gente
valiente y compasiva que pueda identificarse con la situación de los presos y sus
familiares. Este curso de entrenamiento incluirá un repaso de lineamientos prácticos. Se
necesitan Ministros de Comunión para poder llevarles la Palabra y la Comunión.

PEM_127 MINISTERIO DE JUSTICIA SOCIAL - Este curso sirve como preparación para
aquellas personas que sienten el llamado a participar en el ministerio de Justicia Social
dentro de sus parroquias y organizaciones. Se basa en áreas actuales de preocupación en
las que el Ministerio de Paz y Justicia proveerá orientación y servicio. Este curso incluye:
(CCDH) La Campaña Católica de Desarrollo Humano, analiza las causas de la pobreza y
apoya programas creativos diseñados a crear comunidad y superar la pobreza.
