What is the City and County of Broomfield role on this project:
The City and County of Broomfield is a sponsor of this project and is providing partial funding. The City and County
of Broomfield began its planning phases in 2002.
Why is this project necessary?
The purpose of the 120th Avenue Connection project is to accommodate existing and forecasted east-west
commuting traffic, allowing for a more direct travel route and alleviating traffic congestion.
When are crews working?
Normal working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. When required, night time work will
be performed between the hours of 6:30 p.m and 5:30 a.m.
Will there be road closures or traffic delays?
Day time lane closures on the project will be Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and
Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Night time lane closures will be Sunday through Thursday, 6:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m.
The construction has been planned in phases to minimize impact to residents and travelers and to maintain
access to existing business and residences in the construction area. Flaggers and other traffic control devices
will be utilized to keep everyone informed of where and when construction is occurring. Speeds may be
periodically reduced in the construction zone. The project team appreciates all motorists Going Slow for the
Cone Zone.
