Creo en Jesucristo, su únioc Hijo, nuestro Señor, que fue
concebido por obra y gracia del Espíritu Santo, nació de
Santa María Virgen, padeció bajo el poder de Poncio
Pilato, fue crucificado, muerto y sepultado;
descendió a los infiernos; al tercer día resucitó de entre los
muertos; subió a los cielos y está sentado a la derecha de
Dios, Padre todopoderoso. Desde allí ha de venir a juzgar
a vivos y muertos.
Creo en el Espíritu Santo, la santa Iglesia católica, la
comunión de los santos, el pardón de los pecados, la

3. En la primera cuenta, rece un Padre Nuestro
Padre nuestro, que estás en el cielo, sanctificado sea tu
nombre; venga a nosotros tu reino; hágase tu voluntad,
en la tierra como en el cielo.
Danos hoy nuestro pan de cada día; perdona nuestras
ofensas, como nosotros también perdonamos a los que
nos ofenden; no nos deje caer en la tentación y líbranos
del mal. Amén.
4. Rece tres Ave Marías en cada una de las siguientes tres
cuentas.
Dios te salve, María; llena eres de gracia; el Señor es
contigo; bendita tú eres entre todas las mujeres, y
bendito es el fruto de tu vientre, Jesús.
Santa María, Madre de Dios, ruega por nosotros
pecadores, ahora y en la hora de nuestra muerte. Amén.

seguido de una lectura breve de la Escritura) luego rece un
Padrenuestro.
7. Mientras pasa con los dedos las diez cuentas de cada decena,
rece diez Ave Marías meditando en el Misterio. Luego rece
un Gloria. Al finalizar cada decena, algunos dicen la siguiente
Oración de la Misericordia sugerida por la Santísima Virgen
en Fátima:
O Jesús, perdónanos nuestros pecados, sálvanos del
fuego del infierno y guía todas las almas al cielo, especialmente aquellas que necesitan más de tu misericordia.
8. Despues de rezar las cinco decenas, rece una “Salve” seguida
de la siguiente oracion final:
Dios te salve, Reina y Madre de misericordia, vida, dulzura
y esperanza nuestra; Dios te salve. A ti llamamos los
desterrados hijos de Eva; a ti suspiramos, gimiendo y
llorando, en este valle de lágrimas.
Ea, pues, Señora, abogada nuestra, vuelve a nosotros esos
tus ojos misericordiosos; y después de este destierro
muéstranos a Jesús, fruto bendito de tu vientre. ¡Oh
clementísima, oh piadosa, oh dulce siempre Virgen María!
Ruega por nosotros, Santa Madre de Dios, para que
seamos dignos de alcanzar las promesas de Nuestro Señor
Jesucristo.
Oración. Omnipotente y sempiterno Dios, que con la
cooperación del Espíritu Santo, preparaste el cuerpo y el
alma de la gloriosa Virgen y Madre María para que fuese
merecedora de ser digna morada de tu Hijo; concédenos
que, pues celebramos con alegría su conmemoración,
por su piadosa intercesión seamos liberados de los males
presentes y de la muerte eterna. Por el mismo Cristo
nuestro Señor. Amén.

How to Pray the Rosary
The Rosary is a Scripture-based prayer. It begins with the
Apostles’ Creed, which summarizes the great mysteries of
the Catholic faith. The Our Father, which introduces each
mystery, is from the Gospels. The first part of the Hail
Mary is the angel’s words announcing Christ’s birth and
Elizabeth’s greeting to Mary. St. Pius V officially added the
second part of the Hail Mary. The Mysteries of the Rosary
center on the events of Christ’s life. There are four sets
of Mysteries: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and—added by
Pope John Paul II in 2002— Luminous.
The repetition in the Rosary is meant to lead one into
restful and contemplative prayer related to each Mystery.
The gentle repetition of the words helps us to enter into
the silence of our hearts, where Christ’s spirit dwells. The
Rosary can be said privately or with a group.

Familiarize yourself and/or your group with the prayers of the

1. Make the Sign of the Cross.
2. Holding the Crucifix, say the Apostles' Creed.
I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven
and earth,
and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was
conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was
buried;
he descended into hell; on the third day he rose again from
the dead; he ascended into heaven, and is seated at the
right hand of God the Father almighty; from there he will
come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the
communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the
resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.
3. On the first bead, say an Our Father.
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in
heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our
trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. Amen.
4. Say three Hail Marys on each of the next three beads.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you; blessed
are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your
womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and
at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy
Spirit; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall
be, world without end. Amen.
6. For each of the five decades, announce the Mystery (perhaps
followed by a brief reading from Scripture) then say the Our
Father.
7. Next,while fingering each of the ten beads of the decade,
say ten Hail Marys while meditating on the Mystery. Then
say a Glory Be. After finishing each decade, some say the
following Mercy Prayer requested by the Blessed Virgin Mary
at Fatima:
O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of
hell; lead all souls to Heaven, especially those who have
most need of your mercy.
8. After saying the five decades, say the Hail, Holy Queen,
followed by a dialogue and prayer:
Hail, holy Queen, mother of mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To you we cry, poor banished
children of Eve; to you we send up our sighs, mourning
and weeping in this valley of tears.
Turn, then, most gracious advocate, your eyes of mercy
toward us; and after this, our exile, show unto us the
blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving,
O sweet Virgin Mary.
V. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God.
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of
Christ.
Let us pray: O God, whose Only Begotten Son, by his
life, Death, and Resurrection, has purchased for us the
rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech thee, that
while meditating on these mysteries of the most holy
Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what
they contain and obtain what they promise, through the
same Christ our Lord. Amen.
9. Conclude the Rosary with the Sign of the Cross.

Como rezar el Rosario
El Rosario es una oración basada en las Sagradas Escrituras.
Comienza con el Credo de los Apóstoles, el cual resume
los grandes misterios de la Fe Católica. El Padrenuestro,
rezado antes de cada misterio, se encuentra en los
Evangelios. La primera parte del Ave María son las
palabras del ángel anunciando el nacimiento de Cristo
y el saludo de Maria a su prima Isabel. San Pio V oficialmente añadió la segunda parte del Ave María. Los Misterios del Rosario se centran en los eventos de la vida de
Cristo. Actualmente están establecidos 4 meditaciones de
los Misterios: Gozosos, Dolorosos, Gloriosos y—añadidos
por el Papa Juan Pablo II en el 2002—Luminosos.
La repetición en el Rosario tiene como finalidad, conducir
a una oración reconfortante y contemplativa relacionada
a cada Misterio. La dulce repetición de las palabras nos
ayuda a entrar en el silencio de nuestros corazones, donde
habita el Espíritu de Cristo. El Rosario puede ser rezado
privadamente o en grupo.
