¿Aún no tienen fe?” A Page 14 Book of Life t every funeral the Presider blesses the body of the deceased with holy water saying the words, “In the waters of Baptism N. died with Christ and rose with him to new life. May he/she now share with him eternal glory.” Near the Baptismal font and the Paschal Candle we have placed a “Book of Life.” We invite anyone who would like to place the name of a dearly departed family member or friend to inscribe his/her name with any remembrance. It has been the Church’s custom to not only commend the dead to God at the time of their funeral, but also to support their loved ones with the prayers of the faith community and the hope of all those who have been promised future resurrection. As we continue this custom, let us remember all those who have gone before us and place them in the loving care of God, our Father.
