A PRAYER FOR THE YEAR OF MERCY
BY POPE FRANCIS
Lord Jesus Christ, you have taught us to be merciful like
the heavenly Father, and have told us that whoever sees
you sees God. Show us your face and we will be saved.
You are the visible face of the invisible Father, of the God
who manifests his power above all by forgiveness and
mercy: let us the Church be your visible face in the world.
Send your Spirit and consecrate every one of us with its
anointing, so that the Jubilee of Mercy may be a year of
grace from the Lord, and your Church, with renewed enthusiasm, may bring good news to the poor, proclaim liberty to captives and the oppressed, and restore sight to the
blind.
We ask this through the intercession of Mary, Mother of
Mercy, you who live and reign with the Father and the
Holy Spirit for ever and ever. Amen.
PARISH COUNCIL
Members of the Parish Council are reminded of the
next meeting, Monday, September 19th at 7:15 pm in
the rectory.
DISASTER RELIEF
As brothers and sisters of all in need, we have been
asked by Bishop DiMarzio to assist the victims of recent natural disasters in Louisiana and Italy. Special
collections will be taken: on next Sunday September
25th, for the Louisiana flooding victims; on October
9th, for the Italian earthquake victims. Please be generous, as you already are in these relief efforts.

MARK YOUR CALENDARS
“A Parish Mission” will be conducted in our church by
Fr. Victor Hoagland, a Passionist Priest, on Sunday
thru Tuesday, October 16-18th.
FEAST OF SAINT TERESA
We will be celebrating the feast of St. Teresa our Patron on Saturday October 1st. This
special event honors our parish patron and gets our pastoral year off
to a spirited beginning. The celebration will include a festive bilingual Mass at 5pm followed by a
procession through the streets of
the parish with the statue and relic
of St. Teresa. Light refreshments in
the auditorium will follow.
MASSES AVAILABLE
We still have weekday Mass intentions available during
the months of October and November. The New Mass
book for 2017 opens in the middle of October.

Señor Jesucristo, tú nos has enseñado a ser misericordiosos como el Padre del cielo, y nos has dicho que
quien te ve, lo ve también a Él. Muéstranos tu rostro y
obtendremos la salvación.
Tú eres el rostro visible del Padre invisible, del Dios
que manifiesta su omnipotencia sobre todo con el perdón y la misericordia: haz que, en el mundo, la Iglesia
sea el rostro visible de Ti, su Señor, resucitado y glorioso.
Manda tu Espíritu y conságranos a todos con su unción
para que el Jubileo de la Misericordia sea un año de
gracia del Señor y tu Iglesia pueda, con renovado entusiasmo, llevar la Buena Nueva a los pobres, proclamar
la libertad a los prisioneros y oprimidos y restituir la
vista a los ciegos.
Te lo pedimos por intercesión de María, Madre de la
Misericordia, a ti que vives y reinas con el Padre y el
Espíritu Santo por los siglos de los siglos. Amen
DOMINGO CATEQUÉTICO
En todas las misas, el hoy domingo, 18 de septiembre,
honraremos y bendigamos a todos los hombres y mujeres que son “Catequista” en nuestra parroquia - los
maestros de la fe en Jesucristo. Estas personas dedicadas dan de su mismo cada sábado desde septiembre a
mayo en la entrega a nuestros niños y adolescentes
nuestras tradiciones y creencias católicas.
RELEVACIÓN DEL DESASTRE
Como hermanos y hermanas en toda necesidad, nos ha
solicitado por el Obispo DiMarzio para ayudar a las
víctimas de desastres naturales en Luisiana e Italia. Colecciones especiales se tomarán: próximo domingo 25
de septiembre, para las víctimas de los diluvios en Luisiana; el 9 de octubre, para las víctimas del terremoto
italiano. Por favor sean generosos, que ya se encuentre
en estos esfuerzos.
MISAS DISPONIBLES
Todavía tenemos intenciones de Misas del día de semana disponibles durante los meses de octubre y noviembre. El libro de misa nueva para el año 2017 se abre
mediados de octubre. La donación para cada misa es
$15.

Todos están invitados a unas charlas de profundizar su
fe - los martes, a las 7:30 pm en el centro parroquial de
la iglesia, que empezó el 6 de septiembre. Gratis, sin
compromiso.

COLECTA DE COMIDA
La Sociedad de San Vicente de Paul de Santa Teresa,
auspicia la recolección de alimentos enlatados para la
dispensa y ayuda a los mas necesitados de nuestra
parroquia. Por favor traiga cada ultimo fin de semana
de cada mes cualquiera de los siguientes alimentos:
cereales, arroz, aceite, pastas, azúcar, salsa de tomate,
jugos, frijoles, atún, sopa, vegetales enlatados y mantequilla de maní. El próximo Domingo, 25 de septiembre. Muchas gracias por su generosidad!
FIESTA DE SANTA TERESA
Estaremos celebrando la fiesta de nuestra patrona Santa Teresa en sábado, 1 de octubre. Este evento especial, rinde homenaje a la patrona de
nuestra parroquia y comienza nuestro año pastoral con animo enérgico. La celebración incluirá una Misa
bilingüe a las 5 pm, seguida por una
procesión por las calles del vecindario con la estatua y la reliquia de
Santa Teresa. Continuaremos con
los bocadillos y refrescos en el auditorio.

CATECHETICAL SUNDAY
At all Masses, today Sunday, September 18th, we will
honor and bless all those women and men who serve
our parish as “Catechist” - teachers of the faith in Jesus
Christ. These dedicated people give of themselves
every Saturday from September through May in handing on to our children and teenagers our Catholic beliefs and traditions.
NEW ADULT CHOIR
Rehearsals held on Thursday, from
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. in the choir loft
for the new adult choir. For more information, speak with our Director of

BECOME A MEMBER OF THE
CHILDREN’S CHOIR
Our Director of Music Steven Petersen is organizing a
Children’s Choir. Rehearsals are on Friday from 3:304:30 pm in the church choir loft. The Children’s Choir
is open to all students in grades 3-8. The Children’s
Choir alternates between the 10:30 am mass and 12:00
pm mass. Choir members must be on time. If you
have any questions see Steven after mass.
ENGLISH BIBLE STUDY
Msgr. Ferrari continues the weekly morning Bible
Study, in English, Wednesday, September 28th at 8:40
am (after the 8am Mass) in the Parish Center (rectory
basement meeting room). No fee, no firm commitment
- come when you can. Msgr. Ferrari welcomes all who
wish to learn more about the “Greatest Book Ever
Written.”

BOOK OF PETITIONS
A “Book of Petitions” on Memorial
Day weekend was placed on a stand
by the niche of the Crucifix and the
Tree of Remembrance.
Anyone may respectfully write an intention, a petition, or a person that
prayers are being asked for. A pen is attached to the
book for convenience - please do not take the pen!
These petitions will be remembered (not read aloud) at
all Masses. As a community of the faithful, we all pray
for one another.
LIBRO DE PETICIONES
Un "Libro de peticiones" se ha colocado en un pedestal
por la Cruz y el árbol de la memoria. Cualquiera puede
escribir respetuosamente una intención, una petición o
una persona que se está pidiendo oraciones . Una pluma
estará adjunta al libro para mayor comodidad - por favor, no tome la pluma! Estas peticiones serán recordadas (no se leerán en voz alta) en todas las misas. Como una comunidad de los fieles, todos oramos unos por
los otros.
CORO DE NIÑOS DE
SANTA TERESA
Acá en la parroquia de Santa Teresa, tenemos un coro de niños.
 Los ensayos serán los Viernes a
las 3:30- 4:30pm en el balcón de
la iglesia.
 El Coro de Niños canta durante la Misa cada
domingo alternando entre la Misa de 10:30 en español y la Misa de 12:00 en Ingles, así como otros
eventos especiales durante el año.
 Requisitos: El Coro de Niños esta abierto para los
que tienen la edad del tercer grado hasta el octavo
grado que le gusta cantar. Cantaremos en Ingles y
español.
 Los miembros del coro deben de ser puntuales
para todos los ensayos y las Misas. Asistencia a
los ensayos y las Misas es esencial para que el coro
este en su mejor forma y es una garantía para que
los coristas crezcan en sus habilidades.
 Padres/Madres tienen que dar su consentimiento,
firmando un formulario de permiso.
