On OUTSIDE, top-stitch as basted.
1. Stay-stitch bodice front and back neck edges 1/2" (1.3cm)
from cut edge in direction of arrows.

This stitching stays in permanently and helps prevent
stretching on curved edges.
Stay-stitching will not be shown in the following illustrations.

15. Stitch skirt front to back at side seams.
To gather upper edge of skirt, stitch along seam line and 1/4"
(6mm) INSIDE seam line, using a long machine-stitch.
2. Stitch bodice front to back at shoulder seams.
16. Prepare two ruffles as follows: Stitch notched ends of two
ruffle sections together, forming a circle. Fold ruffle in half,
lengthwise, with RIGHT sides together. Baste.
To gather upper edge of ruffle, stitch along seam line and 1/4"

3. Apply fusible interfacing to WRONG side of front and back
facing sections following manufacturer’s directions.
Stitch shoulder seams of facing sections.
To EDGE FINISH unnotched edge...stitch 1/4" (6mm) from
edge, turn under along stitching and stitch OR zig-zag over
the edge OR overlock/serge over the edge.

4. With RIGHT sides together, pin facing to front and neck edge,
matching centers and small dots.
Baste along center front line. Stitch along stitching lines on
front facing and along seam line at neck edge pivoting with
needle in fabric at small dots, as shown. To reinforce point,
stitch over first stitching.

5. Slash between stitching to stitching at the point, being careful
not to clip through stitching.
Trim seam and corners; clip curves.

17. With RIGHT sides together, pin one ruffle to lower edge of
skirt, matching centers and side seams. Pull up gathering
stitches to fit. Baste.

18. Stitch notched ends of band sections together, forming a
circle.
19. With RIGHT sides together, pin remaining ruffle to lower edge
of band, matching centers and side seams. Pull up gathering
stitches to fit. Baste. Stitch. Press seam toward band,
pressing ruffle down.

To keep the facing from rolling to OUTSIDE, secure it at the
seam allowances by tacking it by hand, stitching in the ditch
or using a small piece of fusible web.

7. FOR VIEW A- On OUTSIDE, pin ribbon to front, placing inner
edge 3/8" (1cm) from opening edges and along broken lines,
folding out fullness at corners and point and turning under
ends at neck edge. Stitch close to both edges of ribbon.

8. FOR VIEW B- On OUTSIDE, pin rick rack to front, placing
inner edge about 1/8" (3mm) from neck edge, opening edges
and along broken lines, folding out fullness at corners and
point and turning under ends at shoulder seams. Stitch along
center of rick rack.
13. On OUTSIDE, pin tape to armhole edge of garment, having
raw edges even and turning under and lapping one end at
side seam. Stitch armhole in a 3/8” (1cm) seam. Trim seam;
clip curves.
20. With RIGHT sides together, pin band to lower edge of skirt,
(over ruffle) matching centers and side seams. Stitch. seam.
Press seam toward skirt, pressing band down.

27. FOR VIEW B- On OUTSIDE, pin rick rack to bodice, placing
rick rack just over seam, turning under and lapping one end
at one side seam, being careful not to catch in tie ends. Stitch
along center of rick rack.
Pin rick rack to skirt, placing rick rack just over seam, turning
under and lapping one end at one side seams. Stitch along
center of rick rack.
12. Cut a piece of elastic the length of elastic guide.
Insert elastic through opening in casing, having ends of
elastic extend 5/8" (1.5cm) beyond side seams.
Stitch across ends of casing at side seams through all
thicknesses of casing in the groove of each seam catching in
elastic.
Stitch opening closed.
Distribute fullness evenly.

13. If you prefer, top-stitch 1/4" (6mm) from upper edge of bodice.

1. Fold shoulder strap in half, lengthwise, with RIGHT sides
together. Stitch in 3/8" (1cm) seam, leaving ends open.

casing, matching small and large dots. Adjust to fit. On
OUTSIDE, stitch straps in place close to upper edge of
casing. If you prefer, trim excess strap if necessary.
FOR VIEW C--Tie ribbon into a bow and tack to center front
at waistline seam, as shown on front of envelope.

líneas entrecortadas, embebiendo las esquinas y la punta y doblando hacia dentro los extremos en
las costuras de los hombros. Cosa a lo largo del centro de la espiguilla.
10. PARA AMBOS MODELOS - DERECHO CON DERECHO, prenda con alfileres la falda al corpiño
por la costura de la cintura, casando los centros y las costuras de los lados. Tire de los hilos de
frunces para ajustar. Hilvane. Cosa. Planche la costura hacia arriba.

Cosa el frente a la parte trasera por las costuras interiores de las piernas.

DERECHO CON DERECHO, prenda con alfileres la costura del centro, casando las
costuras interiores de las piernas y las muescas. Cosa. Para reforzar la costura, cosa de
nuevo sobre la primera costura. Recorte la costura en la curva a 1/4" (6mm). Abra la costura
restante con la plancha.

PARA EL MODELO E- Cosa el frente a la parte trasera por las costuras de los lados
dejando una abertura debajo de los puntos grandes. Retroceda en los puntos grandes para
reforzar las costuras.

PARA EL MODELO F - Cosa el frente a la espalda por las costuras de los lados.

PARA LOS MODELOS E, F - Para evitar que el elástico quede atrapado en los márgenes
de costura, fíjelos a la prenda en la parte de la jareta con un pedazo de material adhesivo o
un hilván a máquina. Recuerde quitar el hilván cuando la jareta esté terminada.

Planche 1" (2.5cm) del borde superior hacia el INTERIOR para formar la jareta. Planche un
doblez de 1/4" (6mm) al borde no terminado. Cosa cerca del borde inferior de la jareta,
dejando una abertura para insertar el elástico.
7.
Corte un pedazo de elástico a la medida de la cintura, más 1" (2.5cm). Ensarte el elástico en
la jareta. Sobreponga los extremos y sosténgalos con un imperdible. Pruébese la prenda y
ajústela a sus medidas.
8.
Cosa juntos los extremos del elástico en forma segura. Cierre la abertura cosiéndola.
Distribuya la amplitud uniformemente. Quite el hilván.
CONSEJO: Para asegurar el elástico de tal manera que no se enrolle con el uso, cosa por
todos los espesores de la jareta, en la hendidura de cada costura.
16. Prepare dos volantes de la manera siguiente: Cosa juntos los extremos con muescas de ambas
piezas del volante para formar un círculo. DERECHO CON DERECHO, doble el volante por la
mitad a lo largo. Hilvane. Para fruncir el borde superior del volante, cosa con puntos largos sobre la
línea de costura y 1/4" (6mm) al INTERIOR de la línea de costura.
17. DERECHO CON DERECHO, prenda con alfileres un volante al borde inferior de la falda, casando
los centros y las costuras de los lados. Tire de los hilos de frunces para ajustar. Hilvane.
18. Cosa juntos los extremos con muescas de ambas piezas de la banda para formar un círculo.
19. DERECHO CON DERECHO, prenda con alfileres el volante restante al borde inferior de la banda,

casando los centros y las costuras de los lados. Tire de los hilos de frunces para ajustar. Hilvane.
Cosa. Planche la costura hacia la banda y el volante hacia abajo.
20. DERECHO CON DERECHO, prenda con alfileres la banda al borde inferior de la falda, (sobre el
volante) casando los centros y las costuras de los lados. Cosa la costura. Planche la costura hacia
la falda y la banda hacia abajo.

24. Por el DERECHO, prenda con alfileres la cinta de espiguilla al volante por la costura del dobladillo,
emparejando los bordes no acabados, doblando hacia dentro y cruzando un extremo sobre la
costura de un lado. Cosa a lo largo del centro de la cinta de espiguilla.

27. PARA EL MODELO B - Por el DERECHO, prenda con alfileres la cinta de espiguilla al corpiño,

el otro en la costura de un lado; tenga cuidado de no atrapar los lazos en la costura. Cosa a lo largo
del centro de la cinta de espiguilla. Prenda con alfileres la espiguilla sobre la falda, justo sobre la
costura doblando hacia dentro y cruzando un extremo sobre el otro en las costuras de un lado.
Cosa a lo largo del centro de la cinta de espiguilla.
DOBLADILLO E

Planche el dobladillo de las piernas hacia arriba. Planche un doblez de 1/4"(6mm) al borde
no acabado. Cosa el dobladillo en su sitio. Planche un doblez de 5/8" (1.5cm) a los bordes
de la abertura. Planche hacia dentro 1/4" (6mm) al borde no acabado; cosa, girando arriba
de la abertura.
DOBLADILLO F
10. Planche el dobladillo de las piernas hacia arriba. Planche un doblez de 1/4"(6mm) al borde
no acabado. Cósalo a máquina ó con puntadas falsas en su sitio.
11. Doble 1-1/4" (3.2cm) del borde de las piernas hacia AFUERA para formar la vuelta.
Asegure la vuelta a las costuras del short con puntos sueltos.
