4 | St. Francis
December 20, 2015 ~~~~~~~~~~~4th Sunday of Advent:
Jesus was born during the night of the year when darkness
is the longest. The Savior of the world comes for the people
in dark places. The real, lasting, and deep joy is that the
Light shines there. That is why we can say to each other,
“Merry Christmas!”
This month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent
de Paul was able to bring the light of Jesus into the dark
places of the poor, by assisting families, providing in food,
in gifts, and for utility and rent bills. Thanks for helping
those who are poor to be able to say “Merry Christmas!”
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
poder decirles “¡Feliz Navidad!”
“Oh What A Night!” Save the date for January 23, 2016

A Note from Fr. Manny
Dear St. Francis Family,
The pace of things is getting faster as we
approach Christmas. Let us learn from the Gospel this weekend about Mary who celebrated the
very First Christmas with Jesus and Joseph.
Mary with Jesus in her womb, could not
just stay at home as most pregnant women will
probably do especially during cold winter. The
presence of Jesus in Mary's womb, inspired and motivated her
to get out of Nazareth to attend and serve Elizabeth in the city
of Judah, (Lk. 1:39), and stayed three months.
Every now and then, we receive Jesus in the sacrament of
the Holy Eucharist. Once we receive Jesus, He becomes part
of our being. Like Mary who shared Jesus to her cousin Elizabeth, we being Christians, are called to get out of our Nazareth,
(comfort zone), to live and share Christ to others as Mary did
to Elizabeth.
As we journey into this Jubilee Year of Mercy, let us allow God’s amazing love and mercy to those who are longing
for it. Like Mary did to Elizabeth, her relative, let us try to live
out God’s love and mercy first within the very members of our
family so that our Christmas celebrations become more meaningful because the spirit of “Emmanuel” (God is with us) is
truly present in each and every family.
Have a Wonderful and Meaningful Christmas to all!
Fr. Manny
<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>
Padre Manny
