MASS INTENTIONS/INTENCIONES DE LA MISA
If you assume you’re going to heaven just
because you go to church, read the Bible, or say
your prayers, think again. We may listen to God’s
word, read it, or teach it. But what really matters is
whether or not we act upon it. In the first reading,
God gives us a choice between a blessing and a
curse, doing the will of God or disobeying it. In the
second reading, Paul reminds us that God is
merciful and freely offers us saving grace, apart
from our sinfulness. Nevertheless, as Jesus says
in the Gospel, it is not enough for us to call out his
name, teach in his name, or do mighty deeds in his name. To enter God’s
kingdom, we must be willing to act. If we merely listen but do not act, Jesus will
say, “I never knew you. Depart from me, you evildoers.” Will we allow God’s grace
to transform the way we think and act? If we truly want to enjoy God’s Blessing,
we need to make God’s will our own.

campaign. With everyone’s help and commitment, we will reach our parish pledge
goal. Stay tuned as we will let you know the results next week. If you still have
not made a pledge, please pick up a pledge envelope in the Narthex, fill it out
and place it in the collection basket or drop it by the Rectory office.

entrenamiento para todos los ministros de Eucaristía

held at the Mass of your choosing on March 13 or Saturday, March 12 at
5:30 p.m. You must attend a training session in order to be

Adult Faith Formation
English Bible Study Ash Wednesday arrives this Wednesday! Make your
observance of Lent more meaningful by reading and discussing the day’s readings
with others. You do not have to come every week to benefit or “keep up.” No
preparation or background study is needed. We meet every Sunday, 9:15 – 10:45
am, between the 7:30 and 11:00 am Masses, in the Family Life Center (Adult Faith
Formation Room). Led by Deacon Roger and Ms. Marilyn Gette.
Ser Familia Catolica
Ser Familia Católica es un grupo de adultos serios que están interesados en
conocer mejor nuestra fe católica. Ponerla en práctica para transformar nuestras

Catechist Certification Course It’s not too late to sign up for our March course
on Christology. Total Credit Hours: 5 Dates & Time: March 15, 16, 7:00 –
9:30pm Location: Family Life Center (Mother Theresa). In order to receive credit
you must attend both nights. Sign-up in the CCD Office or Office of Adult Faith
Formation.
Parents of Religious Education Students The following adult faith formation
classes are required of all parents whose children are preparing to receive first
sacraments during the Spring of 2010:
Parents of children ages 7 to 17 preparing to receive the Sacrament of
Baptism must attend eight Parent RCIA classes! These classes meet the first
Wednesday of each month. Our last meeting will be April 6, 7:00 – 9:00pm in the
Family Life Center.
Parents of children preparing to receive First Communion or
Confirmation must attend a full series of Parent Faith Formation classes. The April
schedule is: Saturday, April 2 (English) 9:30am, and Sunday, April 3 (Spanish) at
the same time as your child’s class.
Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA/RICA) – Every Thursday evening, 7:00 –
8:30pm, Family Life Center. For English, come to ‘Mother Teresa’; for Spanish,
come to ‘Thomas Aquinas’. These classes prepare adults for Baptism, and nonCatholic Christians to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church. They
also prepare Catholic adults to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and First
Communion. The topic for this week’s meeting March 10 is “How to Make a Good
Confession.” For more information, call or visit the Adult Faith Formation office at
