Operating Instructions for Mainsafe Safe-Lite™ portable socket outlet
Please keep these instructions in a safe place for future use.
Important: The Mainsafe Safe-Lite portable socket outlet is available with a 3-pin plug with ground pin
up, and a 3-pin plug with ground pin down. Do you have the right product for you?
INSTALLATION
For portable use, simply plug the device into a wall mounted receptacle.
For permanent fitting to a wall-mounted receptacle, remove the screw from the center of the wall
mounted receptacle and plug the Safe-Lite into the receptacle. Insert the supplied #6-32 x 3/4” screw
into the center square hole of the Safe-Lite and secure the device to the receptacle.
For Child-Safe or Outdoor use, fit the protective covers as shown in the image below.
Important: The Protective Covers kit cannot be removed once fitted to this product, so only fit it to the
product if intended for permanent use outdoors or for Child-Safe protection.
OPERATION
When the Safe-Lite Socket Outlet is correctly fitted to a wall-mounted
receptacle and power is available at the receptacle, the GREEN
“POWER” LED will be lit to indicate that power is available at the three
socket outlets.
Power Failure Light (PFL) Mode: In PFL mode, the Safe-Lite/Nite-Lite
LEDs will light up automatically to provide local lighting in the event of
a power outage/power failure. These LEDS will remain lit for up to 12
hours.

Portable Flash Light: The unit may be used as a flash-light by removing
it from the wall mounted receptacle. When used as a Flash Light, or in
PFL mode, the light may be switched On or Off by pressing the EZ-OP™
SAFE-LITE ON/OFF pad as appropriate. This will conserve battery power
for later use.
Night Light (NL) Mode: The NL mode will provide a continuous low level ambient light that is ideal for
children’s bedrooms, landings, corridors and pathways, etc. NL mode is user selected by pressing the
EZ-OP™ Nite-Lite ON/OFF pad as appropriate.
Testing: It is recommended to verify the correct operation of the Power Failure Light mode at regular
intervals by pressing the EZ-OP™ SAFE-LITE TEST pad. In the event that the internal rechargeable
battery has reached its natural end of life, the Power Failure Light function will no longer be available,
and the device should be replaced immediately. The Night Light functionality will remain operational
even without a viable battery.
Battery Charge: Allow up to 24 hours for full recharge after installation or when the battery has
discharged.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
Do not attempt to insert any object that is not designed for insertion into the power outlets.
Power will be present at all times at the three socket outlets while the unit is attached to a powered
receptacle regardless of the green LED indication.
The unit must be removed from the wall receptacle before attempting any electrical work at the outlet
side.
Observe all normal safety precautions when handling mains powered equipment.
USE OF THIS PRODUCT
This product must be installed and used in accordance with these instructions.
This product must be inserted into a wall mounted receptacle and must not be supplied by an
extension cord. This product must not be used in wet locations or where the product may be exposed
to rain or excessive heat. The Outdoor Protective Covers will provide limited protection against rain,
dust, and debris when the protective covers are fully closed.
There are no user serviceable parts within this product. Refer any service issues/queries to the place of
purchase. Do not open the product. Any attempt to open or modify the product could have fatal
consequences and will, in any case, invalidate your warranty.
LIMITED WARRANTY
The MAINSAFE® GFCI can be expected to operate correctly for a minimum of two years from the date
of original purchase provided that the GFCI is installed and used correctly in accordance with these
instructions.
In the event of product failure within the above two year period, our liability shall be limited to
replacement of the product or a refund of the purchase price. In no case will we be liable for
consequential, incidental or special damages caused by misuse or incorrect installation.

Importante: El tomacorriente Safe-Lite de Mainsafe está disponible con un enchufe de tres pines con el pin de

INSTALACION
Para uso como dispositivo portátil – simplemente enchufe el dispositivo a un tomacorriente de pared.
Para instalación permanente en un receptáculo de pared, retire el tornillo del centro de la toma de
pared y enchufe el Safe-Lite en el receptáculo. Introduzca el tornillo suministrado (#6-32 x 3/4”) en el
centro del agujero cuadrado del Safe-Lite y fije el dispositivo a la toma.

FUNCIONAMIENTO
Cuando el tomacorriente Safe-Lite está montado adecuadamente en
un receptáculo y hay suministro eléctrico disponible, el LED “Power
On” se iluminará automáticamente para indicar que hay suministro
disponible en las tres tomas de corriente.
Modo Luz de seguridad por cortes eléctricos (Power Failure Light,

que es ideal para habitaciones de niños, rellanos, pasillos, aceras, etc.

Testeo: Se recomienda verificar el correcto funcionamiento del modo Luz de seguridad (PFL) a
intervalos regulares presionando el botón EZ-OP™ SAFE-LITE TEST.
En caso de que la batería recargable interna haya alcanzado el fin de vida útil natural, la función Luz de
Seguridad PFL ya no estará disponible, y el dispositivo debería ser reemplazado de inmediato
