Food Pantry.
Faith Formation Registration
Our religious education classes for children/teens begin on
Sunday, September 18th. Children & Teens must be registered
or reregistered by that day. Registration will take place in the
back of the church between each Mass on Sundays, August
28th & September 11th. You may also register in the rectory
on the weekdays before September 18th, but you must call (ext
14) to set up an appointment. Please bring your child's Baptism Certificate, if the child was baptized elsewhere.
Sacraments For Adults
If you are an adult and you would like to receive one or all of the sacraments of Initiation,
consider being part of preparation classes. This
process is known as R.C.I.A. Rite of Christian
Initiation for Adults. Please call Fr. Tom, (ext 12 to sign-up.
We thank each of our Liturgical
Ministers for their faith filled volunteer service. Have you ever considered these roles? We always
need new ministers! The Diocese
offers training workshops. Each
workshop is on a Saturday and each
requires registration through the
parish. Please note the following dates and locations: October
22nd at St Francis Prep, Fresh Meadows; December 3rd at
Bishop Kearney, Brooklyn; March 4th at Mary Louis Academy, Jamaica Estates; April 29th at St. Edmund Prep, Brooklyn; High School students age 16 or older are welcome. Each
workshop is limited to 300 participants, so it will be best to
register ASAP and before October 1st.
TACHS
Test for Admission into Catholic High Schools
Are you considering sending your eighth grade son or daughter
to a catholic high school in September of 2016? In order to be
admitted into a catholic high school in our dioceses, eighth
grade students must take an admission examination this Fall.
The results from that examination, along with school records,
and other information; are sent to your child’s three high
school choices to assist the principals in making admission
decisions. Complete TACHS information is available in the
rectory. Please request a copy NOW; the process and due dates
are very important . Call Vanessa at ext. 10 OR Sr. Ellen at
ext. 14.
St. Augustine R.C. Church
CAMBA ran the summer shelter where volunteers from St Augustine and from other
congregations in Park Slope helped prepae
meals and overnight. The summer respite
centers have now closed and winter respite
centers have not yet opened. CAMBA needs
volunteers to help at the temporary respites
that are open in September. They especially
need overnight volunteers at the two residences: Vanderveer (3114 Glenwood Rd.,
Brooklyn on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays) and St. George’s (800 Marcy A ve., Brooklyn on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturday). Can you help? If you ae able
