The patented Safe Bolt System (SBS), developed by
STEYR MANNLICHER, is regarded as an especially
safe rifle concept. In case of firing an unexpected
over pressured round, or encountering an obstruction in the barrel, the shooter is always protected
from possible injuries, which could be caused from
escaping gases, or when a fire-arm ruptures.

Eine spezielle Ausnehmung am Verschluss garantiert das einwandfreie Funktionieren der Waffe selbst
unter extremen Bedingungen, wie zum Beispiel
Verschmutzung und Vereisung.
An der Verschlusskappe zeigt der Schlagstift, dem
Schützen den Spannzustand der Waffe fühl- und
sichtbar an.
Der Verschlusskopf ist besonders massiv ausgeführt
und als „Vorne-Verriegelung“ direkt bei der Patrone
platziert.
Der Kammergriff greift bei verriegeltem Verschluss
im Gehäuse ein.
Nur das patentierte SBS verwendet bei der Verriegelung einen zusätzlichen Sicherungsring, der den
Verschlusskopf vollständig umfasst. Dadurch ist der
Schütze gegen austretende Gase auch bei unerwartet überhöhtem Gasdruck geschützt. Waffensprengungen werden durch das SBS wirksam verhindert.

At the rear of the bolt the firing pin indicates
the cocked position - touchable and visible.

The front locking lugs of the SBS are extremely
massive by design, which lock directly behind
the cartridge caser into the receiver.
Bolt Handle
Only the patented SBS uses an additional safety
bushing, which fully encases the locking lugs and
extractor. In essence, the shooter is fully protected
against escaping, high pressure gases, in case
an over pressured round is unintentionally fired.
Therefore, the SBS effectively prevents the
rupturing of the rifle’s receiver.
Une gorge spéciale à été fraisée dans le corps de

A l’arrière de la culasse, un indicateur visible et
tactile permet de vérifier à tout moment si l’arme
est armée.
Les 4 tenons du verrou sont extrêmement
massifs assurant un verrouillage extrêmement
sûr et hermétique.
Le levier de culasse se verrouille également dans
le boitier de culasse.
Seul le système breveté SBS utilise cette bague
de sûreté, laquelle enveloppe complètement la tête
de culasse limitant ainsi les retours de gaz en cas
de surpression due à une rupture d’amorce ou une
obstruction dans le canon.
Unas acanaladuras especiales efectuadas en el
cuerpo del cerrojo garantizan un acerrojamiento
fiable incluso en condiciones extremas de hielo
y barro.
En la parte trasera del cerrojo asoma la parte
posterior de la aguja cuando el arma está montada
por lo que se tiene control visual y táctil del estado
del arma.
Los tetones de cierre del SBS por diseño son
extremadamente fuertes y cierran directamente
detras del culote del cartucho sobre el armazón.
La maneta del cerrojo también se pliega sobre
el cajón de mecanismos.
Unicamente el sistema SBS usa un casquillo adicional de seguridad que encapsula totalmente los
tetones y el extractor. Consecuentemente el tirador
está totalmente protegido contra un escape de los
gases con cartuchos con sobrepresión que puedan
ser dispardos sin saberlo. Por tanto el sistema
SBS evita cualquier ruptura del armazón.

In dieser Stellung kann die Waffe geladen und
entladen werden. Der Abzugsstollen ist gesichert,
unabsichtliche Schussabgabe ist ausgeschlossen.
Erst unmittelbar vor der Schussabgabe wird durch
geräuschloses Vordrehen des Sicherungsrades
von der Sicherungs-Stellung in die Feuer-Stellung
gewechselt.
Ein Druckknopf auf dem Sicherungsrad verhindert
unabsichtliches Weiterdrehen aus der Sperr-Stellung
in eine andere Position. Abzug und Verschluss sind
gesperrt und - durch Andrücken des Kammergriffes
- zusätzlich auch der Schlagstift formschlüssig verriegelt. Stecherabzüge werden automatisch entspannt.
In this position the weapon can be loaded and
unloaded. The trigger is locked, which prevents
unintentionally firing.

Just before you intend to shoot, you roll the safety
wheel noiseless forward from the Safe Position into
the Fire Position.

A button on the safety wheel prevents the unwanted
rolling of the safety wheel from the Locking Position
into another position. Trigger and bolt are locked.
Depressing the bolt into its lowest position additionally locks the fire pin, too. “Set Triggers” are
automatically unlocked in this position.

revenir en position tir en ramenant la molette vers
l’avant. La détente et la culasse sont bloquées et une
sécurité additionnelle peut être engagée en poussant
le levier de culasse verrouillant ainsi le percuteur. Le
stecher (option) est alors automatiquement désactivé
dans cette position.

como el cerrojo quedan bloqueados. Además permite

1500 m. Taking down the barrel with mounted
scope in a few seconds the STEYR HS .50 is ready
to shoot immediately after reassembling.
