“ONLY IN JESUS THAT WE FIND PEACE, COMFORT AND JOY”
In the first sentence of the book written by M.Scott Peck, MD. entitled “The Road Less Traveled” he
declares quite simply but bluntly that “life is hard.” However, that is one reality we reluctantly admit. But
that does not change the fact that life is indeed hard and we know it fully well. And while we are aware of the
difficulty of life, our Lord knows it very well too. He is no stranger to life and death. He’s “been there, done
that.” He has experienced everything, if not more, of whatever burdens we are going through life. And in the
midst of this reality, He tells us: “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.”
What does our Lord have to offer in these most consoling and loveliest words? Why does He invite us
to approach Him with our labor and burdens however heavy they are? It is because He wants to offer us His
YOKE! And biblical scholars interprets that the yoke that Jesus is referring to is a specific form of yoke, a Ushaped wooden crosspiece bound to the necks of not one, but always a pair of oxen. Therefore, in inviting and
promising to give us His yoke, our Lord simply means that He pairs Himself with us in our burdens and struggles in life. The Lord places Himself not behind or in front of us but beside us. He bears with us and shares
in carrying the weight of our problems, pain, suffering and all the hardships and difficulties of life. He joins
and walks with us when we are at our most burdened moments in life.
What may be the burdens we bear in life? There are actually different kinds of them. First of all, there
are burdens that “just happen” to us. They simply befall us and we do not have much choice or control
over them. Examples would be the effects of accidents or natural disasters that cause damage of property or
loss of a love one. There are also burdens caused by other people, over whom we also do not have control
but affect us, hurt us or wound us. There are also burdens that we cause ourselves, burdens that we suffer
because of our own doing. We suffer the consequence of sleepless nights because we have a guilt-stricken
conscience or we are suffering in an unhealthy relationship because we cannot or we do not want to walk
away from it, or we suffer illness because we may have not properly taken care of ourselves. These are burdens we can avoid but we suffer because we did not avoid them or we do not want to remedy them.
Finally, there is another kind of burden that we cause ourselves, but unlilke the aforementioied selfcaused burden, we choose it for a good reason. This refers to the unpleasant tasks of painful sacrifice that
one chooses to do out of love. Cases of this would be child who foregoes his own needs to care for "his aging
and infirm parents, or the volunteer doctor who chooses a difficult assignment in far-flung places over a lucrative practice because he wants to serve the poor, or a person who opts to give up his leisure time to serve the
less fortunate and the sick. These are burdens that could easily be ignored but some people embrace them because they want to do it out of love. And the perfect example of this is no other else than JESUS. He loves us
so much that He willingly suffered for us. This is what He offers us when He invites us to come to Him. He
wants us to realize that whatever type of burden we bear, there is one thing we can be absolutely sure of, i.e.,
He carries the weight with us, He shares His yoke with us to carry our burdens.
When Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI addressed the young people in the diocese of San MarinoMontefeltro, he said the following: " In Christ you can find the answers to the questions that accompany
your journey, not in a superficial or facile way but walking and living with Jesus. The meeting with Christ is
not limited to embracing a doctrine or philosophy; what He proposes is sharing His very life and thus learning to live, learning who man is, who I am". The Pope encouraged the young people “not to be afraid to face
difficult situations, moments of crisis or the trials of life, because the Lord accompanies you, He is with you”.
In the face of life’s burden, our loving Lord is always with us. This is an assurance that we have to
trust Jesus. He is the fundamental answer to the problems of life. Without Him, we do not have peace, consolation and joy.

work.” (1 Thess. 5:12, 13, NIV) When we pray for vocations for the priesthood, deaconate and religious, we actually pray for ourselves, since holy priests,
deacons and religious should result in a holier people. When we pray for these servants of Christ, we also win the favor of Christ, for we, in so praying, are
furthering His work. More, by praying for vocations we are helping our children and our children's children because we are using a meritorious means of preserving our faith for them. “Now we ask you to respect those who work hard. among you. SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
Thank you to those parents who attended the High
School Youth Ministry orientation meeting on June
16th. We are excited to collaborate with you as your
teens begin this next phase in their spiritual journey!
If you were unable to attend this meeting and you
have a teen in High School, we will be holding another meeting on August 11 @ 7pm in English.
Please note that preparation for the Sacrament of
Confirmation is only a PART of comprehensive
Youth Ministry of which every teen should be engaged! That being said, it is necessary that parents attend an orientation meeting prior to your
youth being registered and beginning the Confirmation preparation process. If for some reason

BEREAVEMENT CORNER There is a movement call Death
Cafes that was started about three years ago in London. Basically
what they do is gather groups of people together to talk about
death. They are non-denominational and a-political. They ARE
NOT support or therapy groups. The movement that just started in
Valley Center is Death & Hors d'Oeuves. As catholics we should
not take part in such groups because there may be discussion about
how to end your own life at times speaking at details. Since we
believe in redemptive suffering (go to USCCB.org for more information), ending our own life is not acceptable. For more information on death cafes go to www.deathcafe.com. Any questions

"SÓLO EN JESÚS QUE ENCONTRAMOS LA PAZ, CONSUELO Y ALEGRÍA"
En la primera frase del libro escrito por el Dr. M. Scott Peck, titulado "El Camino Menos Transitado" declara muy sencillo que "la vida es dificil." Sin embargo, esa es una realidad que reconocemos a regañadientes. Pero eso no cambia el hecho de
que la vida realmente es difícil y lo sabemos muy bien. Y mientras estamos conscientes de la dificultad de la vida, nuestro
Señor lo sabe muy bien. Él no es un desconocido a la vida y la muerte. "Él ha estado allí, lo ha hecho.” Él lo ha experimentado
todo, si no más, de cualquier cargas que llevamos a través de la vida. Y en medio de esta realidad, Él nos dice: "Venid a mí todos los que están cansados y agobiados, y yo los aliviaré."
¿Qué es lo que nuestro Señor nos ofrece en estas palabras consoladores y mas hermosas? ¿Por qué nos invita a acercarnos a Él con nuestro trabajo y con nuestras cargas que sin embargo son pesadas? ¡Es porque Él nos quiere ofrecer su YUGO!
Los estudiosos biblicos interpretan el yugo que Jesús se refiere a una forma específica de yugo, en forma de una U de madera
que se une del cuello, no de uno, pero siempre en un par de bueyes. Por lo tanto, a la invitación y prometiendo que nos da su
yugo, nuestro Señor simplemente significa que se empareja con nosotros en nuestras cargas y luchas de la vida. El Señor no se
pone detrás o adelante de nosotros, pero además a un lado de nosotros. Él lleva con nosotros y comparte en llevar el peso de
nuestros problemas, el dolor, el sufrimiento y todos los problemas y dificultades de la vida. El se une y camina con nosotros
cuando estamos en los momentos más cargados en la vida.
Que pueden ser las cargas que llevamos en la vida? En realidad, hay diferentes tipos de cargas. En primer lugar, hay
cargas que se nos "aparecen sólas". Simplemente nos llegan y no tenemos muchas alternativas o control de ellas. Los ejemplos
serían los efectos de un accidente o de una catástrofe natural que cause daño a la propiedad o la pérdida de un amor. También
hay cargas causadas por otras personas, por la cual, no tenemos control, pero nos afectan, nos lastiman o nos hieren. También hay unas cargas que nosotros causamos, unas cargas que nosotros sufrimos a causa de nuestras propias acciones. Sufrimos las consecuencias de noches sin dormir porque tenemos una conciencia culpable o afectada por que estamos sufriendo en
una relación enfermiza porque no podemos o no queremos salirnos de ella, o sufrimos enfermedades porque es posible que no
nos cuidamos bien nosotros mismos. Estas son cargas que podemos evitar, pero sufrimos porque no queremos evitarlas o no
deseamos remediar la situación.
Por último, hay otro tipo de carga que nosotros causamos, pero no como la carga auto-causada que mencionamos anteriormente, la elegimos por una buena razón. Esto se refiere a la desagradable tarea de sacrificio doloroso que uno decide hacer por amor. Los casos de este sería cuando un hijo renuncia a sus propias necesidades para cuidar a "sus padres en su envejecimiento y enfermos, o el médico voluntario quien elige una difícil misión en lugares remotos a través de una lucrativa práctica porque quiere servir a los pobres, o una persona que opta por renunciar su tiempo para servir a los menos afortunados y los
enfermos. Estas son cargas que pudieran ser fácilmente ignorada pero algunas personas las abrazan porque quieren hacerlo por
amor. Y el ejemplo perfecto de esto no es otra cosa que JESÚS. Él nos ama tanto que él voluntariamente sufrió por nosotros.
Esto es lo que nos ofrece cuando nos invita a venir a él. Él quiere que nosotros nos demos cuenta de que cualquier tipo de carga
que llevan, hay una cosa de la que podemos estar absolutamente seguro, es decir, Él lleva el peso con nosotros, Él comparte con
nosotros su yugo para llevar nuestras cargas.
Cuando el Papa Emérito Benedicto XVI dirigió a los jóvenes de la diócesis de San Marino-Montefeltro , dijo lo
siguiente: "En Cristo pueden encontrar las respuestas a las preguntas que acompañan su camino, no en el modo superficial o
fácil pero caminando y viviendo con Jesús. El encuentro con Cristo no se limita a abrazar una doctrina o filosofía; lo que él
propone es compartir Su misma vida y, por lo tanto, aprender a vivir, aprendiendo quién es el hombre, quien yo soy". El Papa
animó a los jóvenes "no tener miedo a enfrentar las situaciones difíciles, los momentos de crisis o las pruebas de la vida,
porque el Señor los acompaña, Él está con ustedes”.
En las cargas de la vida, nuestro Señor amoroso está siempre con nosotros. Esto es seguro que tenemos que confiar en
Jesús. El es la respuesta fundamental a los problemas de la vida. Sin él, no tenemos paz, consuelo y alegría.

Guárdalos cerca de tu corazón. Amén. Oración Diaria por las Vocaciones:
Jesús de la coseha, mira con amor a esta porción de tu viña. Bendice la Diócesis de San Diego con más sacerdotes que pastoreen a tu pueblo, sacerdotes con un corazón
semejante al tuyo.

Adoracion al Santisimo Sacramento—martes y jueves 3:00—9:00 pm
Cada martes y jueves tenemos en nuestra parroquia la exposición del
Santísimo, en la cual los Adoradores se reunen para estar en la presencia del
Señor. Todos están invitados a acompañar a Jesús Sacramentado durante
cualquier hora entre 3-9pm y la duración de tiempo que gusten. Pero se
necesitan "adoradores" de una hora a las 3:00, 4:00, o 5:00pm.

Ministerio Juvenil y Preparación para el Sacramento de Confirmación
Muchas gracias a los padres que asistieron la reunión de orientación del
ministerio juvenil de la Escuela Preparatoria el jueves 19 de junio. Estamos
muy entusiasmados de colaborar con ustedes ya que sus adolescentes
comienzan esta nueva etapa en su camino espiritual. Si no pudo asistir a esta
reunión y tiene un hijo adolescente en la Escuela Preparatoria, vamos a tener
otra reunión el 13 de Agosto a las 7:00pm. Por favor, tenga en cuenta que la
preparación para el Sacramento de la Confirmación es sólo una parte del
Ministerio Juvenil de cual todos los adolescentes deben participar! Dicho
esto, es necesario que los padres asisten a una reunión de orientación antes
de que su joven pueda registrarse y comenzar el proceso de la preparación
de Confirmación. Si no asistió a esta reunión de orientación, póngase en

ESQUINA DEL ACOMAÑAMIENTO DE DUELO
Hay un movimiento llamado Muerte cafés que se inició hace unos tres años en
Londres. Lo que hacen es reunir grupos de personas para hablar de la muerte. No
son Católicos y son políticos. NO son grupos de apoyo o terapia. El grupo que
acaba de comenzar en Valley Center se llama Muerte y Hors d'Oeuves. Como
Católicos no deben tomar parte en tales grupos porque puede haber platica acerca
de cómo terminar su propia vida y en veces con mucho detalle. Porque creemos
en sufrimiento redentor (vayan a USCCB.org para más información), terminar
nuestra propia vida no es aceptable. Para obtener más información sobre muerte

CLASSES PRE-BAUTISMAL
~ Tomán acabo el primer y segundo lunes de cada mes. Las Clases empiezan a las 7:00 PM en punto!
Ambas clases consecutivas se requieren! Es un requisito para los padres y
