Father Frank and Pastoral Care Ministry from the Cathedral of Christ the King Invite the Senior Adults to join us for the 12:10 Mass in the Cathedral, followed by Anointing of the Sick and continuing with lunch and camaraderie in Kenny Hall. THURSDAY, MAY 22, 2014 YOUR CATHEDRAL PARISH FAMILY YOUR LEGACY In our earliest years, visionary parishioners utilized planned giving as a way to fulfill their hopes and dreams for the Cathedral. For example, one of our founding parishioners established a charitable trust in her will, naming the Cathedral as beneficiary. The gift was small at first but has grown significantly over the decades continuing to bless the Cathedral day after day. We invite you to consider a planned gift to our Cathedral Fund as your long term legacy. Your gift will help support special projects and ministry needs beyond our annual operating expenses. A simple provision in your will or a designation from a retirement plan can create your future gift .You can designate a particular project or ministry or your funds can be used for the general needs of the Cathedral. We are ready to work with you and your advisors to develop a gift plan that best suits your goals and objectives. For a private discussion of planned giving opportunities, please contact The Cathedral Fund Advisory Board member Ham Smith, 404-261-6189 or Sharon Connelly, 404-267-3680, [email protected]. Reservations are Limited, Reserve your Place Call the Pastoral Care office at 404-267-3674 by Monday, May 19 7 CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE KING St. Vincent de Paul Volunteer Opportunities The Christ the King St. Vincent de Paul Conference is blessed with many great volunteers, but our caseload has picked up significantly and we need more volunteers to continue doing the work of helping the working poor within (and sometimes without) our parish boundaries. MAY 18, 2014 PRAYING PACEM IN TERRIS: Finally, we are confronted in this modern age with a form of society which is evolving on entirely new social and political lines. Since all peoples have either attained political independence or are on the way to attaining it, soon no nation will rule over another and none will be subject to an alien power. Thus all over the world men are either the citizens of an independent State, or are shortly to become so; nor is any nation nowadays content to submit to foreign domination. The longstanding inferiority complex of certain classes because of their economic and social status, sex, or position in the State, and the corresponding superiority complex of other classes, is rapidly becoming a thing of the past. (42-43) Excerpt of Pope John XXIII’s Pacem in Terris Provided by Justice & Peace Ministries, Archdiocese of Atlanta Senior adult luncheon Spring was in the air at the April Senior Adult Luncheon hosted by St. Anne’s and Hail Mary Circles. The spring bouquets on the tables, colorful ribbons around the place setting, and the fruit kabobs added to the fun and festive atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed the breathing exercises and simple stretching moves taught by Chris McGuire. Friends lingered over coffee enjoying the time to visit. 9 CATHEDRAL OF CHRIST THE KING CATEDRAL DE CRISTO REY 2699 Peachtree Road NE Atlanta, GA 30305 MISIÓN CATÓLICA DE CRISTO REY 2620 Buford Highway Atlanta, GA 30329 MINISTERIO HISPANO Teléfono 404-267-3696 Horario Lunes a Viernes : 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM CELEBRACIÓN EUCARÍSTICA EN ESPAÑOL Catedral Martes 7:00 PM Sábado 5:00 PM Domingo 1:30 PM Misión Domingo 9:30 AM CONFESIONES Lunes y Miércoles 7:15 - 7:45 AM 6:00 - 6:30 PM Sábados 8:30 - 9 AM / 3 - 4:00 PM Misión Domingos 9:00 - 9:30 AM Otros días, previa cita únicamente.
