Hope Corps - Catholic Charities is recruiting young adults to work in teams to lead volunteer events once a month for the next year. Choose your project. Each month, Hope Corps members lead volunteers in one-time, short projects that make a big difference in a few hours: clean up a shelter, pack breakfast bags (Cup of Joe) for people who stay in our shelters, help load up food packages, and more. Hope Corps members receive training and swag and our gratitude! Get information and apply: www.CatholicCharitiesDC.org/volunteer FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT In the pews, you will find envelopes for Christmas Flower contributions in memory of loved ones, living or deceased. If you would like to remember your loved ones in this way at Christmas, please complete an envelope and drop it in the collection basket or hand in to the Parish Office no later than Sunday, December 18. We will print your loved ones’ names in our Christmas Bulletin. Please note that our Special Occasion Flower Program, where parishioners can sponsor the altar flowers, will restart in January, 2017. The flowers on the altar this weekend were sponsored by Samir and Maria El-Khouri in honor of the occasion of the blessing of the new sanctuary and crucifix. Adopt A Family This Christmas season, our St. Bartholomew community will be adopting 20 local families in need. Each of these families will have varied needs from basic clothing, assistance with electrical/heating bills, gifts for children, etc. Our goal is to provide each family member with at least one item that they specifically need/request as well as a few small toys/gifts for the children. Each grade at St. Bart’s (Pre-K through 8th grade) will be linked up with one family. We also have 10 other families that we would like to help this year through the generosity of our Parish. We will have sign-ups for those who wish to help after the morning masses this Sunday, November 27th in the Church Hall. Please contact Barb Henry @ 703-283 -9966 for more information. Vengamos a adorarle. Contactar a Rafael Espinosa.
