I write this even before he has arrived. But you’re reading it after having heard and seen one or more of the events. What most struck you? We’d like to know. We’ll include your r eactions in the November newsletter. Next Sunday is Respect Life Sunday. There are a lot of ways to respect life. As with any virtue, its practice cannot be exhausted. In this bulletin you may be following the series “Nine months with Christ in the Womb”. I also want to remind you again that we are happy to offer the blessing for a child in the womb. It is appr opr iate at any time of a pr egnancy. We can do it at a Sunday Mass or with just a few family members present. It includes a blessing for the mother to “grant her comfort in all anxiety and make her determined to lead her child along the ways of salvation.” There is also a blessing for the father to “grant him courage in this new responsibility, and make him an example of justice and truth for this child.” An excerpt of the blessing reads: God, author of all life, bless, we pray, this unborn child; give constant protection and grant a healthy birth that is the sign of our rebirth one day into the eternal rejoicing of heaven. Even if the mother is not Catholic, we would be happy to extend the blessing to her. It is also a way to assure young parents that the entire Parish is keeping them in prayer. If you know someone who is pregnant, please invite them to ask for this blessing. JULIE BILLIART Family Promise Giving Tree of Love Return the item(s) listed on the card, to the back of church the weekends of 26th & 27th. We will move the items to a storage area in the Fenmont to be used when we host homeless families in the near future. If you chose a card that asked for a financial donation for a specific item, please place cash or a check in an envelope marked “Family Promise Donation” and place in the collection basket at Mass. Checks should be made out to St. Julie’s. A monetar y donation is needed for many of the items for purposes of uniformity. For instance, many containers are needed for storage, but we need the same size and type for stacking purposes, so we are asking for money in order that we can purchase the exact same storage containers. If you chose not to take a card off the tree, any cash donation will be put to good use. Your help is needed and appreciated! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! CARE FOR GOD’S CREATION Prayer / Reflection: Loving Father, teach us to love and respect each other and the beautiful world that you have made. Quote from the Holy See: “I urgently appeal then for a new dialogue about how we are shaping the future of our planet. We need a conversation which includes everyone, since the environment challenge we are undergoing, and its human roots, concern and affect us all.” (Pope Francis, Laudato Si’: On Care of Our Common Home, no. 14, 2015) Care for Creation Tip: Addressing the current climate change problem also addresses our moral responsibility to leave a better world for future generations. This Week with Christ in the Womb The folds and grooves in Jesus’s brain are expanding and ge ng more complex at this stage. He also boasts of a healthy head of hair as well. Jesus of the womb, Hear our prayers!
