This was a huge effort where many people from the entire parish were involved to provide some seriously needed attention to our school building before religious education classes begin. It is a beautiful and edifying expression of our communion in and love of Christ when volunteers across the parish step-up to help and work together on a project. As your shepherd, I can think of fewer more beautiful expressions of our common faith when projects like this happen. In my prayers of thanksgiving for all who helped on this project, I could not help but recall the words of Psalm 133: “Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.” A special “Thank you” to Kathy Beutler, chair of our Finance Council, who directed and coordinated this undertaking. THANK YOU one and all!!! Mon – Fri: Morning Prayer 7:30 a.m.; Daily Mass 8:00 am Update on Youth Group and Confirmation Another round of “Thank you’s!” is owed to three individuals who have stepped-up to help coordinate out Youth Group and Confirmation programs. I am very pleased to announce that Garret Wolfard and Kristina Fessler have agreed to direct our Youth Group program for the next few months until I hope to hire a Youth Minister & Director of Religious Education in January. Garret and Kristina bring a vitality and vigor to youth ministry which I am confident will be beneficial to our program. They are also preparing for their wedding in October, and so I am doubly grateful to them for saying “yes” at this busy and exciting time in their life. Please keep them in your prayers. Also, I am very grateful to Don Kelley for volunteering to direct our Confirmation program for the coming year. Don has previously helped direct youth ministry here at St. Paul’s and currently helps with our RCIA program and our once-a-month children’s liturgy at the 10:30 am Mass. Don, too, is a busy individual and so I am very grateful for his own “yes” to assist in preparing our youth to receive the sacrament of Confirmation next Spring. I am still on the lookout for someone to help direct our th th 6 -8 grade youth program. More on this in the coming weeks… Again, THANK YOU to all who volunteer their time, treasure, and talent at St. Paul Catholic Church. May Christ the Lord shower His choicest blessings upon you! -Fr. 3 Mary Dunbar Mindy Doeden Katie Edmonds* Phil Appleton Jon Edmonds Pastoral Council Laura Salgado Mary Fogarty Clarissa Bay Finance Council: Judy Lowery Kathy Beutler* Readings for the Week Jenelle Gasper Annmarie Hare Evelin Vazquez Tom Unger Chris Fleshman M T W Th F S S *Council Chair 1 Corinth. 2:1-5 Mark 6:17-29 1 Corinth. 2:10b-16 Luke 4:31-37 1 Corinth. 3:1-9 Luke 4:38-44 1 Corinth. 3:18-23 Luke 5:1-11 1 Corinth. 4:1-5 Luke 5:33-39 1 Corinth. 4:6b-15 Luke 6:1-5 Wisdom 9:13-18b Philemon 9-10, 12-17 Luke 14:25-33 Life Chain 2016 LIFE CHAIN is NOT political or confrontational.
