The temptation to hoard riches and make sharp bargains at the expense of the powerless is pervasive because these things are generally done and look respectable enough. St. James points to God’s judgment on these attitudes and actions of amassing wealth and comfort at the expense of others. How might we be better stewards of the material blessings we have been given? How might we use our wealth with compassion toward others? The festival includes music for all audience groups; young and old, male and female, country, rock and tejano. Join us for music, food and fun at the event of the season! There will be plenty of hot dogs, hamburgers, tacos, enchiladas and, new this year, Asian cuisine! Tickets can be purchased at the event. All game and service-oriented booths will be open from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. and the food/drink booths will be open from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. The featured performers are: GRUPO STAMPEDE People’s Choice Bands Ballet Folklorico Sidekicks Band ...and the Up and Up Band. Grupo Stampede is a six-piece tejano band with an energy level that compares to a “stampede.” The band’s live performances display its versatility by mixing covers with its cumbia and ranchera originals. Stampede is known for its innovative, urban-Tejano, sound that respects tradition. People’s Choice Band has been entertaining audiences for decades, delivering strong and versatile performances in dance halls across Texas. People’s Choice Band plays a strong and vibrant set of country songs that move the crowd and get them on their feet.
