SHORT SYNOPSIS
The film depicts the relationship between Jon, a troubled teenager and his grandfather Max, a
retired military man who lives in a village on the Costa de la Luz. After Jon is expelled from
school, his mother decides to send him away with Max to teach him a lesson. But it won’t be
that simple, Jon likes to flirt with danger and the veteran has now settled down into a
comfortable life. Both characters will have to confront their fears and limitations.
LONG SYNOPSIS
“15 years and one day”
Jon is only fourteen but he has already been expelled from school for three months. His mother,
Margo, a small-time actress who was traumatized by her husband’s suicide, decides to teach
him a lesson. Jon is sent to a village on the East coast to stay with his grandfather, Max, who
retired from the Army and will surely teach the unruly youngster some discipline.
Their first meeting does not bode well at all. Max is very strict and has hired Toni, a young man
from the village, to act as Jon’s private tutor. Unfortunately, Jon is more interested in spending
time with a local Colombian gang who are always getting in trouble and especially with Nelson,
their cocky leader.
After an argument with his tutor, the Colombians decide to help Jon and teach Toni a lesson.
Jon joins the hunt and it all comes to a head with a fight on the beach where tragedy strikes:
Nelson dies from a stab wound and Jon ends up in hospital. What happened? Jon can’t tell
because he is in a coma, the Colombians won’t talk and nobody links Toni with the fight.
