Saludos Padres de Southwest,
¡Es esa época del año otra vez! Tiempo de comenzar a pensar en el próximo año escolar.
El primer día para los estudiantes reportarse a la escuela es el martes, 4 de septiembre de 2012. Las
horas de desayuno serán las mismas, 8:15-8:35. Si su niño no va a desayunar, debe entrar a Southwest
y reportarse al gimnasio. El maestro de su niño irá al gimnasio para buscar a su hijo/a.
Su niño también se pondrá contento al saber que este año estaremos continuando con el programa de
incentivos para la conducta positiva. Todo estudiante que asiste a SW tendrá la oportunidad de ganarse
un botón, “self-manager’s badge.” Para lograr esto, los estudiantes deben obtener 20 perforaciones en
sus tarjetas que su maestro le ha dado. Ellos pueden ganarse estas perforaciones al cumplir con el código
de conducta para comportamiento. Si vigilan su comportamiento, ellos recibirán un premio cada mes.
Las posibilidades de premios son jugar Wii Dance en el gimnasio, una película/popcorn, leer en voz
alta/tomar chocolate, día de juegos, desfile de la clase, y muchas otras recompensas. Los maestros
también escogerán incentivos de salones individuales para recompensar a los que vigilan su
comportamiento.
Recordatorio: Adjunto a esta carta usted encontrará las políticas que se aplicarán como parte de nuestro
esfuerzo de escuelas seguras para tener un área de estacionamiento seguro para dejar y recoger a los
estudiantes. ¡Estas políticas serán aplicadas desde el 1er día de clases! Gracias de antemano por su
cooperación.
Todo el personal de la Escuela Elemental Southwest está muy ansioso de conocerlo a usted y su niño en
la Noche de Regreso a la Escuela (Casa Abierta) la cual se llevará a cabo el jueves, 30 de agosto, de
6:00-7:30pm. Por favor tome la oportunidad para asistir y familiarizarse con el maestro de su niño, las
expectativas, el currículo, y eventos que ocurrirán durante el próximo año escolar.

8/30/12 – Noche de Regreso a la Escuela (Casa Abierta): 6:00-7:30pm
9/5/12 – Reunión de la Organización de Padres y Facultad (PFO): 4:00pm
9/20/12 – Noche de Recaudación de Fondos “Laser Tag” en The Lazer Factory: 6-9pm
9/27/12 – Comienza la Feria de Libros – hasta el 4 de octubre de 2012. Más detalles por venir…

Hello Southwest Parents,
It is that time of the year again! Time to begin thinking about the upcoming school year.
The first day for students to report to school is Tuesday, Sept. 4th, 2012. Breakfast times will remain the
same 8:15-8:35. If your child is not eating breakfast (s)he should enter Southwest and report to the
gymnasium. Your child’s teacher will come to the gymnasium to meet your son/daughter.
Your child will also be excited to know that we will be continuing our positive behavior incentive
program this year. All students attending SW have the opportunity to earn a “self-manager’s badge.”
To accomplish this, students must get 20 punches on their cards that teachers have issued. They earn
these punches by following the code of conduct for behavior. If they become self-managers they will
receive a reward each month. The reward possibilities are a Wii Dance in the gym, movie/popcorn,
Read-A-Loud with cocoa, game day, class parade, and many more exciting rewards. Teachers will also
choose individual classroom incentives to reward the self-managers.
A reminder: Attached to this letter, you will find the policies that will be enforced as part of our safe
schools effort to have a safe parking lot area for student drop-off and pick-up. These policies will be
enforced from the 1st day of school! Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
The entire staff of Southwest Elementary is very eager to meet you and your child on Back to School
Night (Open House), which will be held on Thursday, August 30th at 6:00-7:30pm. Please take the
opportunity to stop in and get acquainted with your child’s teacher, the expectations, curriculum, and
events that will occur during the up coming school year.
