Bienvenidos / Welcome
Estamos felices de darles la bienvenida a la tercera edición de Blood Window. Desde
nuestra primera edición en el año 2013, fuimos creciendo y formando este espacio,
como una vitrina de talentos de cine de género fantástico latinoamericanos.
En esta edición, queremos subrayar la magnitud y diversidad de la convocatoria.
Hemos recibido proyectos de toda Latinoamérica, con la participación de regiones
como Centro América y el Caribe.
Durante cuatro días, productores, directores, agentes de venta, distribuidores y festivales
internacionales, participan de actividades que incluyen encuentros de co-producción,
paneles, charlas debate, encuentros de pitching (Beyond the window) y proyecciones
de películas en work in progress, estas últimas seleccionadas por el curador Jose Luis
Rebordinos, Director Gral. Festival Internacional de Cine de San Sebastián.
Este año, como novedad, contamos con un espacio para reuniones programadas,
charlas de asesoría de proyectos y un foco especial presentados por Catalan Films.
Blood Window no sería posible sin el apoyo del INCAA y de nuestros colaboradores.

We are happy to welcome you to the third edition of Blood Window. Since our first
edition in 2013, we have been growing to establish this event as a showcase of talents
in the fantastic genre of Latin America.
In this edition, we would like to highlight the reach and diversity of projects from all
over Latin America, with the participation of regions including Central America
and the Caribbean. For four days, producers, directors, sales agents, distributors
and international festivals will take part in a range of activities, including coproduction
meetings, panels, roundtables, pitches (Beyond the Window) and work-in-progress
screenings, selected by curator Jose Luis Rebordinos, General Director
of the San Sebastian International Film Festival.
In addition, we are introducing a venue for scheduled meetings, project advice sessions,
and a special focus theme presented by Catalan Films.
Blood Window would not be possible without the support of INCAA and our partners.
We would like to thank especially the organizers of film festivals that have supported

La selección de Blood Window de este año se caracteriza por su variedad
temática y de países y por la alta calidad de las propuestas.
De Brasil ha sido seleccionada A Percepçao do Medo, dirigida por Kapel
Furman y Armando Fonseca. Fonseca es el director de Desalmados,
uno de los ganadores en 2014 de Blood Window's Beyond the Window.
Este nuevo proyecto conjunto se adentra en la mente de un psicópata y nos
obliga a acompañarles en un surrealista viaje lleno de sangre y violencia.
Blood Window's this year selection is characterized by its themes and countries
variety and by the high quality of its offers.
From Brazil it has been selected the film A Percepçao do Medo, directed
by Kapel Furman and Armando Fonseca. Fonseca is the director of Desalmados,
one of the winners of Blood Window's Beyond the Window in 2014.
This new joint project goes into a psychopath's mind and force us to follow him
in a surrealistic journey full of blood and violence.
De México participa Verónica, de Carlos Algara y Alejandro Martínez Beltrán.
El enfrentamiento entre una psicóloga que ha dejado de practicar medicina
y Verónica, una inquietante joven a la que ésta va a aceptar psicoanalizar
en su perdida casa en el bosque, sirve a los directores para mostrarnos
un auténtico tour de force entre las dos actrices protagonistas, en una historia
llena de fuerza, con un desenlace sorprendente e inesperado.
De Argentina han sido seleccionadas dos películas: La valija de Benavidez,
de Laura Casabe, y Terror 5, de Sebastian y Federico Rotstein. La primera
es un cuento cruel y oscuro, sobre un profesor de arte frustrado que va
a ingresar en una residencia para artistas regentada por un grupo de psiquiatras,
tras discutir acaloradamente con su mujer. La segunda es cine de género
en estado puro, varias historias cruzadas que tienen lugar la noche en la que
se conmemoran los diez años de la tragedia del Parque Chas.
From Mexico comes Verónica, by Carlos Algara and Alejandro Martínez Beltrán.
The confrontation between a psychologist woman that has stopped practicing
medicine and Verónica, a disturbing young woman the first one will accept
to analyze in her lost forest house, is used by the directors to show us an actual
tour de force between the two leading actresses in a story full of strength, with
a surprising, unexpected outcome.
There are two selected films from Argentina: La valija de Benavidez, by Laura
Casabe, and Terror 5, by Sebastián and Federico Rotstein. The first one is a cruel,
dark tale about a frustrated art teacher who will go to a residence for artists
managed by a group of psychiatrists after a heated discussion with his wife.
The second one is a genre film in its purest form, several crossed stories which
take place during the night of the 10th anniversary of the Parque Chas tragedy.
De Chile llegan otras dos películas: Downhill, de Patricio Valladares, director
de Hidden in the Woods, y Camaleón, de Jorge Riquelme Serrano. En Downhill,
una estrella del ciclismo y su novia aceptan competir en un torneo de exhibición
en Chile. Cuando encuentran un hombre gravemente herido en el bosque,
se van a tener que enfrentar a la pesadilla que está oculta en ese hermoso paraje.
En Camaleón, la pareja de mujeres protagonistas reciben en su casa la visita
de un joven que les acompañó la noche anterior en la fiesta que ellas mismas
habían organizado. Tensión narrativa, dos buenas actrices y un buen actor y
una inquietante trama contada con buen pulso, son las claves de esta dura
y claustrofóbica película.

Chile presents two films: Downhill, by Patricio Valladares, director of Hidden in
the Woods, and Camaleón, by Jorge Riquelme Serrano. In Downhill, a cycling
star and his girlfriend accept to compete at an exhibition tournament in Chile.
When they find a seriously injured man in the woods, they will face a nightmare
hidden in this beautiful spot. In Camaleón, the couple of protagonist women
receive in their home the visit of the young man that joined them in the party
they had organized. Narrative tension, due good actresses and a good actor
as well as a disturbing plot presented with good rhythm are the keys of this
hard and claustrophobic film.

La Percepción del Miedo invita el espectador a romper los límites
del comportamiento social desde el real para el surrealismo
en un camino lleno de violencia, sangre y la metástasis
de la realidad.
Únete a lo surgimiento de un psicópata mientras el pierde
el control de su realidad y sus temores.
En su casa de veraneo; Paula y Paulina pasan su último día juntas;
antes de que una de ellas emprenda un largo viaje al extranjero.
La tranquilidad de la jornada se verá alterada por la inesperada
llegada de Gastón, un invitado de la despedida de la noche
anterior. A medida que avanza la tarde, vamos descubriendo
qué tipo de relación tienen ellas, y quién es este intruso.
El espectador presenciará una impactante transformación
que nos revela lo más oscuro y recóndito de la mente humana.

Jorge Riquelme Serrano realizó sus estudios en la Escuela de Cine de Chile.
Desde el año 2008 ha dirigido y escrito distintos proyectos cinematográficos
con una fuerte preocupación por la actuación y mirada social. De forma paralela
ha realizado fotografía y televisión. Camaleón es su opera prima.
Jorge Riquelme Serrano studied at the Cinema School of Chile. Since 2008
he has directed and written several film projects with a strong concern
for the actors performance and social issues. In parallel he has work in national
television and photography projects. Chameleon is his feature film debut.

Kapel Furman es el director de la película Pólvora Negra, que fue descrita en Austin

Sam Peckinpah orgulloso.
Armando Fonseca is the director of the feature-film Desalmados, one of the winners
in the 2014 Blood Window’s Beyond the window.
Kapel Furman directed the western film Pólvora Negra, it was described by Austin’s
Fantastic Fest as a production that loaded up enough squibs to make
Sam Peckinpah proud.

In an affluent beach house, Paula and Paulina spend their last
day together befone one of them undertakes a long trip abroad.
Their peaceful day will be disturbed by the unexpected arrival
of Gaston, a guest from last night’s farewell party. As the
afternoon progresses, we discover what kind of relationship
they have, and who this intruder is. The viewer will witness
a shoking transformation that reveals to us the dark recesses
of the human mind.

Después de la muerte de su mejor amigo, la estrella del ciclismo,
Joe, está de acuerdo en volver a competir en un torneo
de exhibición en Chile. En una práctica de descenso con su novia
Stephanie, se topan en medio del bosque con un hombre
gravemente herido que está apunto de morir por un virus
misterioso. Ese es el comienzo de un muy mal día para ellos,
ya que se convierten en el blanco de estraños asesinos
preparados para hacer cualquier cosa para mantener su secreto
a salvo en medio de las montañas.
Benavidez es un profesor de arte frustrado, él discute con su
esposa y busca refugio en su casa de psiquiatras. Se convierte
en una víctima del sistema de casas, en el final de la carretera
que va a cambiar su vida y su destino para siempre.

pre-producción del proyecto de horror titulado Nightworld.
His breakthrough was Hidden in the Woods a raw mix of drama and suspense that
was selected and made a splasn in such festivals as Fantasia, Film4 Frightfest.
Now is working in the post-production of Downhill and The Ghosts of Garip
and developing the upcoming horror movie called Nightworld.

After his best friend dies in a racing accident, biking star Joe
agrees to go back on the wheels for an exhibition in Chile. On
a test run with his girlfriend Stephanie, they stumble upon a badly
injured man dying from a mysterious virus. That’s the start of
a very bad day for them as they become the target of relentless
killers ready to do anything to keep their secret to go out
of the mountains.

Luciano y Paulo intentan convencer a Mariana y a Marina de hacer
un intercambio de parejas. Gene consigue un extraño dvd hogareño
Juan se encuentra con Sonia en lo que para él iba a ser una cita
común y corriente. Y los familiares de las víctimas escuchan
el veredicto sobre la tragedia en el cementerio.
Una psicóloga que ha dejado de practicar medicina, decide tomar
el caso de Verónica, una joven cuya terapia fue misteriosamente
interrumpida tras la desaparición de su anterior psicoanalista.

para Cine y TV; y Dirección para Cine, respectivame. En el 2010 fundaron
su compañía productora The Visualistas, dedicandose mayormente al contenido
publicitario y la producción de cortometrajes y videoclips.
Born in Mexico, Carlos Algara and Alejandro Martínez studied Writing for Film
and TV, and Directing for the Screen, respectively. In 2010 they co-founded
the production company The Visualistas, which has focused on producing
advertising content, short films and music videos, mostly.

y Vida Feliz.
Federico worked as an assistant director and editor both in film and advertisement.
Sebastián is a writer for films and television. Together they directed the short film
Rabbit 105. Besides Terror 5, they have two projects in development: What eyes
can’t see and Happy Life.

The project is currently in post-production. We're
finishing a ninth version of the visual editing, and
are looking for all the funding to finish the rest
of the post (sound design, mixing and mastering
in 5.1, color correciton, music scoring, etc.).

The night that TERROR 5 takes place is the conmemoration
of the 10th anniversary of the tragedy of Camargo Street. That
night Gabriela and Hernán decide to go to a motel for a "crazy"
night. Paulo and Luciano try to convince Mariana and Marina
to do a swinging. "Gene" gets a strange dvd. Juan meets Sonia
in what seems to be an ordinary date. And it's the same night in
which the families of the victims in the cemetery along with
their deceased heard the verdict of the tragedy.

Ernesto trabajó como director de arte de películas y de animación
de la TV Globo, la mayor cadena de TV de Brasil. En 2004 dirigió
el cortometraje La Espera, con actores reales insertados en un entorno
virtual. La película participó de festivales como Rotterdam Film Festival
y FIPA en Biarritz.

Brazil’s largest TV network. In 2004, he directed the short film
The waiting, with actors digitally inserted in a virtual setting. It was
screened at several festivals around the world, such as Rotterdam
and FIPA in Biarritz.

same family as her sister. Beba finds Dolores and
they have no choice but to look for Isabel, getting

Nina and Daniel travel to a small fishing village, in
a desperate attempt to rekindle their troubled
relationship. A mysterious japanese ship runs
aground and releases a substance which mutates
the small village inhabitants.
Now the couple must face another challenge: to
survive in a mutant-infested town. Daniel manages
to get to the car, and runs away in panic, leaving
Nina to herself. She spends the night escaping
from different creatures, each more hideous and
mutated than the one before.

Jaguar Woman, granddaughter of an Awajun
shaman with the power of transformation, is
captured and brought to the zoo. She has to find
and rescue her cub from animal traffickers, and
kills her opponents. The detective Matos in charge
of the homicide case has to decide whether to
enforce law or to make up for his mistakes in the
past. Meanwhile, zoologist Marcos Klein tries to
save Jaguar Woman’s life. The three persons are
connected to each other by an incident that
occurred 20 years ago.

poderes de transformación animal, es capturada
y llevada al zoológico. Ella debe rescatar a su cría
del contrabando de animales, causando la muerte
de sus captores. El encargado del caso, el detective

o deshacer un grave error que cometió en el
pasado. Mientras, el zoólogo Klein intenta salvar
la vida de la Mujer Jaguar. A los tres los une un

Lena's master's dissertation is about people who
believe to be possessed by demons, and she
frequents a psychiatric clinic where she interviews
patients with that profile. She ends up meeting
Rose, who confessed to have put fire on her
family's house with her parents and brother still
inside, under the guidance of demons. While
investigating Rose's past, Lena finds a VHS tape
that contains images recorded over her brother's
birthday party, clues about what actually might
have happened.

university, receive a mysterious video in a VHS tape
as birthday present. The video, which nobody
knows who recorded it, shows images of their party,
hosted a couple of days ago, but that is not all.
When each one watches it while they are alone, the
tape shows their own figure in a different version of
reality. This is the beginning of perverse and violent
test for their friendship.

Two brothers aged 9 and 11 years, reckless Leo

La película cuenta la historia de un mosquito gigante del Planeta
Moscafim, que encuentra una grieta en un agujero negro del espacio
y llega al Planeta Tierra. Cuando llega en Ribeirão Preto, una ciudad
que está experimentando una epidemia deste mismo mosquito,
promueve el caos. Su picadura es mortal, no es como el mosquito
normal. Su aguijón es gigante y su veneno hace un efecto aterrador.
Con la picadura ellos se transforman en zombis-mosquitos y atacan

The film tells the story of a giant mosquito from Planet Endfly,
who finds a crack in a black hole in space and comes to Planet

Santiago Fernández Calvete
Santiago Fernández Calvete was born in Buenos Aires,
Argentina. He grew up mostly in this town where he started
studying filmmaking in 1994. His first job in the industry was
in 1997 as third assistant director in Sobre la Tierra, by
Nicolas Sarquís. Since then, he has worked in production
and direction teams until 2010, where he started to focus
on his own screen writing and directing career. In 2014,
his first feature film The Second Death, was commercially
released in Argentina after playing in several film festivals
around the world like Sitges, Montreal, BIFFF, Pifan, among
others. His second feature film, a thriller called Intimate
Witness, won a post-production award at Ventana Sur's
Film Market as part of the 2015 Blood Window competition.
Annick Mahnert
Born and raised in Switzerland, Annick Mahnert moved
to Paris early 2012 to join the renowned sales agency
Celluloid Dreams, handling sales and acquisitions. Since
2013, she is working as a freelance acquisitions consultant
and festival programmer and was hired in November 2013
as Foreign Representative for the Market & Festivals
department at Swiss Films, the promotion agency for Swiss
filmmaking.
Mahnert is currently working on the production of Alexandre
O. Philippe’s 78/52, a documentary about the iconic shower
scene in Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho and on Dearest Sister,
Mattie Do’s sophomore effort, shot in Laos in Spring 2015
and currently in post-production.

Hebe Tabachnik
For over 15 years Hebe Tabachnik has been a film curator
and festival consultant, and has participated as juror, project
evaluator and panelist at film festivals in the US, Argentina,
Brazil, China, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Israel, Mexico, Puerto
Rico, Spain, and Trinidad & Tobago. She is World Cinema
Programmer for the Palms Springs (PSFF) and Seattle
(SIFF) International Film Festivals and is a member of the
Board of Directors and programmer of Dance Camera West
(DCW). Since 2013 she has been the Director and Producer
of the Guadalajara International Film Festival in Los Angeles
(FICG in LA) and since 2011 she is a Guest Programmer for
the Maguey (LGBT) Award at FICG. She is a Guest Professor
at the San Antonio de los Baños Film School (EICTV).
She has worked for the Sundance and Los Angeles Film
Festivals, the World 3-D Film Expos, the American
Cinematheque of Los Angeles and has been in the selection
committee of the International Documentary Association
(IDA) Awards.
Hebe graduated with degrees in Directing and Screenwriting
at the Universidad del Cine in Buenos Aires where she
became a Professor for the Directing Department.
She is also the Co-Founder and Vice President of Lokro
Productions, Inc.
Hebe received a special recognition from the California
State Assembly in 2012 and last June the Moving Film
Forward Award presented by the National Asociation
of Latino Independent Producers (NALIP).
Manuel Trancon
He has worked on cable television since 2004, in Space and
I.Sat. Currently he is Programming Director of Space, a
channel that reaches almost 60 millions of houses in all Latin
America, and he specializes in movies, and action and horror
series, as well as sports events. He wrote film criticism for 10
years in El Amante/Cine. Between 2005 and 2007 he was a
team member at sitewww.bonk.com.ar/tp. Between 2008
and 2011 he was a Professor and Co-Coordinator (with
Sebastián Yablón) of the degree of Journalism and Critic of
CIEVYC.

Zinema Zombie started its activities in 2004 focusing on the cinema and public training . Its main project is
Zinema Zombie Fest - International Film Festival Fantasy and Horror . Festival to be held in Bogotá, Colombia.
Event pioneer in Colombia, in relation to the Film Genre , and that in 2013 reached its fifth edition without
interruption. Zinema Zombie has a strip exhibition for children, called Zombie Zinema Kidz, strip that
develops in outdoor spaces and is aimed at children from vulnerable populations.
The new project is called Zinema Zombie TV. And a band is dedicated to Horror and Fantasy Film developed

Film Festival
Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF) aims to present a comprehensive selection of the world cinema in all
its diversity with the emphasis on European films. During its 15th edition PÖFF screened more than 500 films
(including 260 full length), bringing over 666 screenings for over 70,000 people as well as over 400 industry
guests and journalists. Recognised by FIAPF, PÖFF embraces a cluster of events, accommodating three

fantastic movies from all around the world. In years past, the festival has been home to world premieres of THERE
