El Pabellón 6 aglutina lo mejor de la evocadora Asia-Pacífico y de la misteriosa África, donde el visitante puede conocer la propuesta de países que acuden por primera vez a Fitur, como Bután, Madagascar, Benin y Santo Tomé y Príncipe. Hall 6 combines the best of alluring Asia-Pacific and mysterious Africa, where visitors can find out about countries attending Fitur for the first time, such as Bhutan, Madagascar, Benin or São Tomé and Príncipe. Continuing on your travels, Hall 8 is entirely dedicated to America, with large spaces in which you will be blown away by the sheer power of the informa- tion, culture and rich folklore of this continent. The final stop is Hall 10, which is home to European, North-African and the MiddleEastern countries, to add to your list of perfect locations for your next holiday. But Fitur has much more to offer. Además, el fin de semana el folclore, la música y la moda llenarán los rincones de este espacio en el que también estará presente la naturaleza de Faunia y la diversión del Parque Warner. l AT THE AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITY of Madrid’s interactive, functional and original stand – whose central motif is water, the etymological root for the city’s name – we will find out how much the city has to offer in terms of culture, sport, gastronomy and nature. Visitors will become familiar with the Community’s world heritage sites by means of interactive books using virtual technology, and learn about the Community’s other attractions through the museums, institutions, municipalities and associations also appearing here. Over the weekend, this space will be buzzing with folklore, music and fashion, natural phenomena from the Faunia Theme Nature Park and entertainment by the Parque Warner Madrid. l STAND 9B01/9C01 CANARIAS APUESTA POR EL TURISMO NÁUTICO THE CANARY ISLANDS PROMOTE BOAT TOURISM CANARIAS promociona las Estaciones Náuticas y el turismo orientado a este sector, ya que, este año, organizará el Campeonato Mundial de Turismo Náutico. Casi 2.000 m2 abarca su espectacular stand. Si el visitante se acerca a conocerlo, podrá degustar todo tipo de originales zumos naturales y entretenerse con el trabajo de artesanía que elaboran en hojas de palma y los calados tradicionales. l 8 THE CANARY ISLANDS are promoting Marinas and the tourism connected with this sector. The Canaries will be hosting the Boat Tourism World Championship this year. Any visitor to their spectacular stand, which occupies almost 2,000 m2, will be able to taste natural juices of many different types of fruits and watch the intricate handcraft work using palm leaves, as well as the traditional decorative needlework. l STAND 9C04 4 r t a d a SÁBADO S AT U R D AY 02 FEBRERO F E B R U A RY EN LOS 2.000 METROS cuadrados de stand de Cataluña se puede descubrir la oferta de la decena de marcas turísticas de la Comunidad (Costa Brava, Costa Daurada, Catalunya Central, Costa de Barcelona Maresme, Costa del Garraf, Terres de Lleida, Pirineus, Val d’Aran, Terres de l’Ebre y Barcelona). Una gran plaza central expone objetos típicos de todos sus rincones, y la Terraza Gastronómica, de 250 metros cuadrados y situada en altura, es el lugar ideal para degustar su gastronomía. Los que no puedan esperar a conocer en directo Cataluña, encontrarán una instalación de vuelo virtual que permite sobrevolar la región a vista de pájaro, y tres rutas en 3D (gastronomía, senderismo y Camino de Sant Jaume-Camino de Santiago). l 8 IN CATALONIA’S 2,000M2 stand, we can discover the offer of this Automonous Community with its ten tourism brands: Costa Brava, Costa Daurada, Catalunya Central, Costa de Barcelona Maresme, Costa del Garraf, Terres de Lleida, Pirineus, Val d’Aran, Terres de l’Ebre and Barcelona. In a large central square we will find typical objects from all parts of Catalonia; while the large Gastronomy Terrace (250 m2) on an upper floor is an ideal spot to sample Catalonian cuisine. Visitors eager to see Catalonia at first hand will be delighted with the virtual flight module offering a birds-eye view of the region, and with the three 3D itineraries (gastronomy, hiking and the Catalonian section of St James’s Way). l STAND 7A01-7C01 “I LOVE BENIDORM” I LOVE BENIDORM BENIDORM RECUPERA el slogan de los años 80 “I love N.Y.”, pero adaptado a la ciudad: “I love Benidorm”. Para ello, ha utilizado imágenes de turistas posando ante emblemáticos monumentos y vistiendo una camiseta donde se lee la ya famosa frase con el icono. Los mismos colores de esta campaña publicitaria son los que sirven de base al stand, que ha obtenido una Mención Especial de la Feria por su originalidad, creatividad y funcionalidad. La ciudad nos ofrece sus amplias playas, por lo que acaba de ganar la “Q” de calidad turística, y una apetecible ruta de montaña por sus alrededores. Si el visitante se acerca a conocer todo ello podrá llevarse una foto de recuerdo. l FOR ITS NEW SLOGAN - “I love Benidorm” – the city has adapted the well-known 1980s logo of “I love N.Y.” It has used images of tourists posing in front of famous monuments all over the world, wearing T-shirts with “I love Benidorm” and the logo. The colours used in this advertising campaign are also used in the stand, which in this year’s Trade Fair has received a Special Mention for its originality, creativity and functionality. Benidorm offers us its large beaches – for which it has just been granted a “Q” award for tourist quality – and an appealing mountain walk through the city’s surroundings. Visitors to the stand can take away a photo as a souvenir. l STAND 5B05 5 AUTÓNOMOUS COMMUNITIES CATALUÑA EN GRAN FORMATO CATALONIA WRIT LARGE e n p o E N P O R TA D A C O V E R S T O R Y PORTUGAL, CON LA CULTURA PORTUGAL PROMOTES CULTURE PA Í S E S / C O U N T R I E S PORTUGAL EXPONE en su stand de 1.500 m 2, el más grande del área internacional, la gran oferta de exposiciones que aglutinan su Centro Cultural de Belem, la Fundación Calouste Gulbenkian o el Museo de Arte Moderno de Berardo. Además, el visitante puede entrar en una recreación de la Casa de La Música de Oporto, construir una maqueta de la estructura del edificio y conocer la sandalia “Cinderela” de la artista Joana Vasconcelos. l 8 THE PORTUGUESE STAND, which at 1,500 m2 is the largest of the international area, displays the wide array of exhibitions currently showing at venues such as the Belém Culture Centre, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Modern Art Museum of Berardo. Visitors can also enter a recreation of the Casa da Música (the Music House) in Porto, build a model of the building and see the “Cinderella” shoe by the artist Joana Vasconcelos. l STAND 10D02 ARGENTINA, RUTAS Y VINOS ARGENTINA, ROUTES AND WINES ARGENTINA APUESTA este fin de semana por dos sugerentes propuestas: la Ruta 40, un recorrido de 5.200 kilómetros que atraviesa de norte a sur las selvas, desiertos, lagos y mesetas de once provincias bordeando la Cordillera de los Andes, y las Rutas Enológicas, con multitud de actividades de cata y maridajes en hotelesboutique ubicados en bodegas. En su stand, Argentina ofrece degustaciones de vinos del país. l 8 ARGENTINA HAS two very interesting offers for this weekend: firstly la Ruta 40 (Route 40), a trail covering 5,200 km across jungles, deserts, lakes and plains of eleven provinces along the foot of the Andes. Secondly, the Wine Routes, which feature a myriad of wine-related activities in boutique hotels set in wineries. The Argentine stand offers tastings of their national wines. l STAND 8A04 COSTA RICA, ENTRA AL PARAÍSO COSTA RICA, WELCOME TO PARADISE COSTA RICA ACERCA al visitante a sus tradicionales Puentes Colgantes de Monteverde, Quepos y la Fortuna, cuyas réplicas recorren el stand del país, y ofrece increíbles propuestas para los amantes del submarinismo, con la Isla del Coco, las parejas que están buscando un destino paradisíaco para celebrar Lunas de Miel en la costa del Pacífico y del Caribe y para el viajero de salud, con las aguas termales del Arenal. l COSTA RICA BRINGS the traditional Hanging Bridges of Monteverde, Quepos and La Fortuna closer to Fitur visitors. Models of the constructions have been installed in this country’s stand, which also features some fascinating offers for scuba-diving enthusiasts in Cocos Island, honeymooning couples in the Pacific and Caribbean coasts, and health tourists at the Arenal hot springs. l STAND 8C04A r t a d a SÁBADO S AT U R D AY POR SU DISEÑO VANGUARDISTA, minimalista y diáfano, el stand de Confortel Hoteles ha sido premiado en Fitur 2008, destacando además la comunicación y la profesionalidad de un espacio que muestra las señas de identidad que caracterizan sus hoteles y que este fin de semana se transformará en el Miniclub Confortel, un servicio dedicado a niños y familias que contará con las mascotas de la cadena y estará amenizado por animadores. l 8 THE CONFORTEL HOTELES stand has received an award in Fitur 2008 for its cutting-edge, minimalistic and open-space design. We may also highlight this space’s excellent presentation and professionalism, trademarks of the Confortel chain. If you visit the Aircomet stand you can buy tickets with a 10% discount and enter a competition to win ten free flights. l STAND 4C01 j o r n a d a JORNADAS FITUR FITU R TECH N ICAL CON FE R E NCES WORKSHOP DE EMPLEO PARA LOS PROFESIONALES DEL TURISMO EMPLOYMENT WORKSHOP FOR PROFESSIONALS IN THE TOURISM SECTOR UN TOTAL DE 36 EMPRESAS provenientes de distintos ámbitos del Turismo y 300 candidatos, entre estudiantes y profesionales en busca de su primer empleo, se dieron cita ayer, viernes, en la II Edición del workshop de Empleo FITUR 2008. Un encuentro organizado por FITUR y la Federación Española de Escuelas de Turismo (ANESTUR), que en esta segunda convocatoria ha contado con el soporte tecnológico y experiencia de Turijobs.com, la primera bolsa de empleo especializada en turismo y hostelería de España, y la colaboración de la Asociación Española de Directores de Hotel (AEDH). Esta iniciativa ha vuelto a promover las entrevistas personales entre los responsables de recursos humanos de las empresas turísticas y los alumnos del sector mediante una agenda de citas previamente fijadas por los candidatos en función de las ofertas de empleo presentadas. En total, se desarrollaron más de 2.000 entrevistas de trabajo, y dadas las cifras de participación, sus organizado- 8 res preparan ya una nueva edición para FITUR 2009. l 8 YESTERDAY, 36 COMPANIES from different areas of the tourism sector, and 300 tourism students and graduates seeking their first job, attended the 2nd Employment Workshop in FITUR 2008. The event was organised by FITUR and ANESTUR the Spanish Federation of Tourism Schools. This year the organisers were assisted by Turijobs.com - the leading Spanish tourism and hotels jobs website – which offered technical support and its expertise, and by AEDH the Spanish Association of Hotel Directors. Once again, this event has provided a framework for personal interviews between those responsible for human resources of tourism companies and students, using a list of appointments preestablished by the candidates in accordance with the job offers made. Over 2000 interviews were conducted; given the large numbers of people involved, the organisers are already looking ahead to repeating this initiative in FITUR 2009. l XXVIII FESTIVAL FLOKLÓRICO DE LOS PUEBLOS DEL MUNDO 28TH PEOPLES OF THE WORLD FOLK FESTIVAL LOS VISITANTES DE LA FERIA pueden conocer, durante todo el fin de semana, las diferentes expresiones de música, danzas, indumentarias y tradiciones que se dan cita en el XXVIII Festival Folklórico de los Pueblos del Mundo y que se está desarrollando en el Auditorio Sur, en sesiones de mañana y tarde. Un evento que conjuga turismo con folclore y en el que participan una selección de representaciones artísticas procedentes de distintos países como España, México, Irán, Indonesia, Perú, Bolivia, Paraguay, China y Costa Rica. Bajo un denominador común, que en esta nueva edición gira en torno a “Edificios Emblemáticos”, el Festival resalta la arquitectura como identificador de cada región y expresión del arte, ya que las construcciones revelan, a través de su diseño, función y materiales, las costumbres, rituales y la historia de una comunidad. El gran interés de los expositores de Fitur por exhibir su folclore ha permitido que, año tras año, se incrementen las solicitudes de participación, aumentan- do la calidad y diversidad de este festival. l 8 OVER THE WHOLE WEEKEND, Trade Fair visitors will be able to see different expressions of musical, dance, dress and tradition expressions at the 28th Peoples of the World Folk Festival during morning and afternoon sessions in the South Auditorium. This is an event that mixes tourism with folklore and in which a selection of acts from different countries such as Spain, Mexico, Iran, Indonesia, Peru, Bolivia, Paraguay, China and Costa Rica will be participating. Under a common denominator, which at this event revolves around “Emblematic Buildings”, the Festival is highlighting architecture as the identifier for each region and an artistic expression, since buildings reveal the customs, rituals and history of a community through their design, function and materials.
