Why has Pope Benedict XVI declared a Year of
Faith in the Church?
Pope Benedict chose the theme of faith because he wants us to
be#er understand and live our faith, something that has been
close to his heart since the beginning of his ponficate. He sees
the lack of faith, especially among Chrisans, as a major cause for
many of the problems that we face today. As Jesus himself asked
in the Gospel, we have been invited to cross the threshold to a
life of communion with God by entering into His Church. Through
Thursday, August 16
our Bapsm, we have undertaken a lifelong journey toward God.

By the 25 Week, baby's hands are fully developed. Thousands and thousands of brain cells are growing in baby’s
head every day. Brain and nerve endings are developed
enough now so that baby can feel the sensaon of touch.
His arms and legs have grown to almost the proporons
they will be at birth. Baby's nostrils, which have been
plugged up unl now, clear out and he can pracce breathing through the nose. The structures of the spine are now
made up of 150 joints, 33 rings and some 1,000 ligaments.
It’s hard to believe the complexies of the developing baby’s body, isn’t it? The capillaries, the teeniest blood vessels,
are now forming in the body, giving his formerly translucent
skin a pink glow. The blood vessels in the lungs also develop
this week. Baby weighs about a pound and a half and is
about 13½ inches long. KEEP PRAYING! Contact

Our Adver.ser of the Week
Want to Grow in Holiness, but Too Busy?
Do you want to transform your work, your marriage, your family, and your life, but you don’t have me? Looking for the
quickest, surest, easiest way to holiness, but don’t know where to begin? In our hecc day and me, Blessed John Paul II
and Blessed Mother Teresa knew that the quickest way to be transformed into a saint is through a relaonship with Our
Blessed Mother, Mary.
Join us as we begin a 33-day preparaon for Marian consecraon. For six weeks, we’ll individually read about and reflect on four great Marian giants: St. Louis de MonTort, St. Maximilian Kobe, Blessed Mother Teresa, and Blessed John Paul
II. They’ll teach us the secrets of drawing closer to the Heart of Jesus through the Heart of Mary. In our weekly meengs,
we’ll share our insights within our small group and then watch a 30-minute video. The video by popular author and speaker, Fr. Michael Gaitley, MIC, brings our individual reflecons and group experience into a clear and livable focus. If you are
looking for a simple way to be spiritually renewed, develop a deeper relaonship with our Savior, and grow in holiness, join
us for 33 Day to Morning Glory. Watch the bullen for more details!
