Miami, FL - Elastic Bond

Elastic Bond es una agrupación musical formada en Miami bajo
la firma de Nacional Records, la disquera líder en el género
Latino alternativo y el hogar de artistas como Manu Chao, Los
Amigos Invisibles, Ana Tijoux y Bomba Estéreo. Elastic Bond
aporta a la escena musical alternativa un estilo urbano con un
toque tropical combinando ritmos electrónicos con melodías
tradicionales latinas, de soul y hip-hop. Siendo parte de una
nueva generación de latinos que crecen en los EE. UU. y que
han florecido representando sus raíces, así como sus influencias
musicales en todo el mundo, su ciudad los ha reconocido como
embajadores culturales y héroes locales. Seleccionados como
“World Cafe Next Artist” por NPR y apodados por LA Times como
“Fusionistas Funk de la Florida”, la banda está cosechando muy
buenas críticas de costa a costa en Estados Unidos, recibiendo
una gran difusión radial y ampliando su fanaticada a lo largo del
planeta.
Su álbum más reciente ‘Real’ debutó en el #1 del ranking de
éxitos de Música Latina Alternativa en iTunes y se mantuvo en la
cima en varios rankings del 2013 incluyendo los mejores álbumes
del 2013 (Hot Albums of 2013) en iTunes y los 16 álbumes a
nivel mundial que deberías haber escuchado en 2013 (PRI The
world’s Top 16 albums you should have listened to in 2013) junto
a Daft Punk y The Beatles. Sus rítmicas canciones han sonado
en prestigiosas cadenas de televisión, tales como MTV, Concert
Channel, PBS, ESPN, CNN, Discovery Channel, Nickelodeon,
CW Networks, Univision y ABC, y han rotado continuamente en
múltiples programas de radio en todo el mundo.
El grupo se originó en Miami, Florida, como un proyecto de
colaboración entre el productor y músico venezolano Andrés
Ponce y la cantautora hondureña Sofy Encanto. El proyecto,
nacido en un estudio de grabación casero más tarde se convirtió
en una banda establecida con tres exitosos álbumes y un
vibrante show en vivo que cuenta con el talento del guitarrista
Buffalo Brown y el trompetista David Burgos, entre otros músicos
invitados.
Elastic Bond se ha presentado en festivales y locales en distintas
latitudes de Norteamérica, tales como Nueva York, Boston,
Washington DC, Carolina del Norte (Charlotte, Asheville),
Seattle, Albany y Vancouver; asimismo, se han destacado por su
participación en el LAMC de Nueva York en el 2011 y el 2013, en
la Latin Billboard Conference del 2012 y en la Conferencia
Hispanicize 2014.
