WATERFALLS MALL, KUWAIT
Tras varios meses de instalación, el WATERFALLS
MALL, primer centro comercial de Kuwait iluminado
íntegramente con LEDs, finaliza su espectacular y
compleja iluminación RGB diseñada por Grupo MCI.
Tarek el Hmoudi y Rebeca Sánchez, conjuntamente
con nuestro distribuidor de Kuwait,
estuvieron
durante 22 días programando y supervisando el
proyecto para asegurarse de la correcta instalación.
Los elementos arquitectónicos a destacar son sin
lugar a duda la fachada y la catarata que da nombre al
Waterfall Mall. Los mismos elementos cambian de
color gracias a los bañadores de pared diseñados
especialmente para este proyecto y que respetan las
condiciones ambientales de Kuwait.
En la torre central se han instalado LedFloodStrip®
RGB, hechos a medida, que iluminan los balcones y
acentuan los elementos arquitectónicos de la fachada
del edificio.
En las áreas exteriores se colocaron, entre otras, 400
luminarias empotradas en el suelo modelo Glow que a
la vez sirven como luz guía para marcar el recorrido
del camino que va hasta el interior del mall.
La catarata central incluye más de 100 metros de Wall
Washer, diseñados a medida, los cuales cambian de
color proporcionando diferentes ambientes.
Los pasamanos de las áreas interiores de los 3
niveles de la zona Shopping cambian de color gracias
a los 1.500 LedFloodStrip® RGB, también diseñados a
medida.
La unidad de control incluye un PC con software
Mundosoft el cual dirige las unidades de entrada DMX.
Diez convertidores de fibra óptica trasmiten los datos
a las áreas según localidad, cada uno controlado por
un driver IP independiente. El rack está
constantemente ventilado y sellado contra el polvo y
la humedad.

En el interior del pabellón se encuentran lagos
artificiales los cuales están repletos de hilos de fibra
óptica con terminales de iluminación puntual
enfocando un sinfín de bolas de cristal depositadas
dentro del agua.
Gracias al excelente trabajo que GRUPO MCI ha
realizado, otras empresas Kuwaitíes están
presentando actualmente proyectos en KUWAIT para
ser desarrollados con LEDs de mano de la experiencia
del GRUPO MCI.

SPA ZEN BALAGARES
El Spa Zen Balagares ubicado en Corvera de Asturias,
es el Spa más grande de Avilés con una superficie de
2.500 metros cuadrados. Con unas instalaciones
únicas es el lugar perfecto para el deleite de aquellos
que quieren disfrutar del cuidado del cuerpo y mente
y de las cualidades del agua en sus múltiples formas.
En esta ocasión Grupo MCI fue el responsable de
iluminar la zona termolúdica del Spa con el
LedFloodStrip® IP67 RGB resinado. Una luminaria
ideal para crear ambientes de luz indirecta y para
acentuar la arquitectura del edificio.

En total se instalaron 200 metros de LedFloodStrip®
con 60 LEDs/m y controlados a través de Mundosoft
en modo Stand Alone (funcionamiento autónomo),
permitiendo al cliente poder crear diferentes
ambientes dependiendo de sus necesidades.
FALLAS DE VALENCIA
Mundo Pharma Cross, modelo interior.
Un año más Mundocolor Iluminación Decorativa
conjuntamente con Iluminaciones Ximénez, dieron
vida a la Falla Cuba – Puerto Rico con una
espectacular iluminación realizada en su totalidad
con lámparas LED y, a la que otorgaron el 3r premio.
La comisión fallera Cuba-Puerto Rico celebró el 50
aniversario iluminando su demarcación fallera, lo que
la convierte en pionera en Valencia y, sobre todo, en
Ruzafa, barrio donde desde 1960 ha sido referente
para el mundo fallero.
Total de luminarias que fueron instaladas:
·25.000 metros de hilo luminoso MundoFlex-LED 240
V con 36 LEDs/m en diferentes colores; total 900.000
LEDs. Consumo: 2.40 W/m x 25.000 m. Total:
60.000W.
·400.000 unidades de la lámpara LED E-14 2 LEDs
12V. Consumo: 0.10W x 400.000. Total: 40.000W.
·150.000 unidades de la lámpara LED E-14 4 LEDs
12V. Consumo: 0.50W x 150.000. Total: 75.000W.
Concluyendo, se puede observar como la comisión de
la falla apostó por una política de bajo consumo,
poniendo así de manifiesto su compromiso con las
nuevas tecnologías, ya que instaló exclusivamente
LED y excluyó la incandescencia, a fin de conseguir
un importante ahorro energético, y contribuir así a
frenar el problema del cambio climático.

After several months of installation the WATERFALLS
MALL; Kuwait’s premier full LED lighted shopping
centre, finishes the highly complex RGB outdoor and
indoor installation. Our programming specialist
Rebeca Sánchez and Engineer Tarek El Hmoudi have
supervised and set up the complete installation
during intensive 22 days working around the clock
with our distributor from Kuwait.
The main architectural highlight in the shopping
centre is the waterfall, part of the impressive colour
changing façade where the MCI team has developed
special custom made wall washers adapted to the
site conditions.
The tower is lit with LedFloodStrip® RGB “custom
made” shining the balconies and highlighting
architectural elements on the building.
Landscape areas and interiors include over 400
embedded floorlights type GLOW which at the same
time works as a guiding light from the outdoor areas
to inside.
The Waterfall and its side elements include over 100
meters of custom made wall washers which will
create different moods and allow changing
continuously the exterior appearance of the
spectacular glass pavilion.
All interior handrails, in total over 1500 units, are
connected to the RGB control system as well as the
elevator lights which show the level the elevator is at
each moment.
The control system is a complete technical room
including PC with Mundosoft software; 10 fibre optic
cables converters to transmit the data to the different
areas, each controlled with an independent IP driver.
The Rack is constantly cooled and sealed against
dust and humidity.
Outdoor Waterfalls Mall, Kuwait
Inside the pavilion a substantial number of artificial
lakes are filled with Fibre optics strings providing an
impression in the water when highlighting the glass
balls laying in the water.
The Waterfalls Mall will open its door to the public
soon and for sure be one of the main attractions of
the new Kuwait architecture.
Due to this fantastic job several other constructions
in the city of Kuwait have approached the LED
LIGHTING “know how” of MCI which by the time is
becoming one of the main LED lighting references in
the Middle East.

In this occasion Grupo MCI was the company in
charge to illuminate the thermal area of the Spa with
the LedFloodStrip® IP67 RGB. A suitable fixture for
indirect lighting and to highlight the impressive
interior of the spa.
Thermal Area, Spa Zen Balagares
A total of 200 meters of LedFloodStrip® with 60
LEDs/m were installed and controlled by our software
MundoSoft, which allows the customer to create
different moods following its needs. The result is a
colour changing environment which the visitor will
appreciate.
FALLAS DE VALENCIA
Mundocolor Iluminación Decorativa together with
Ximénez Illuminación, have been the responsible to
light on one of the most important “Fallas” from
Valencia, Falla Cuba - Puerto Rico, with a spectacular
illumination realised in their totality with LED
tecnology.
“Las Fallas” took place in March and is intended as a
tribute to St. Joseph, saint of the carpenters' guild,
where – it is said - the tradition arose from. The basis
of the fiesta, as is well-known, is the "Fallas"
monuments. In a display of art, though also of irony
and humour, they are exhibited in the streets during
Fallas week, between the 15th and 19th of March. On
the last day, at midnight, they are set on fire and burn
in immense, spectacularly beautiful pyres.
The Fallas are not just that, though. During the fiesta
days - and even weeks beforehand - the streets are
alive with fireworks displays, music bands, artistic
lighting, street performances, parades, etc.
