Ladies and Gentleman:
The Board of the Mary Street Jenkins Foundation feels obliged to inform the people of the Mexican Republic what they have done with the interest of the capital so
generously given by Mr. William Jenkins for their own benefit.
Today that we commemorate the second anniversary of Mr. Jenkins death and
in the place where the remains of the founder and his beloved wife rest, we think
it’s very appropriate to facilitate you full information of what have been done since
January 1964 due to the fact that in the last 7 months of 1963, no deed was done on
account that the Foundations Patronage dedicated all it’s energy to settle all of Mr.
Jenkins affairs, considering that we were not in conditions to deal with the risk
that the same offered, having knowledgement that the patrimonies that has been
put to his care should be taken care with the greatest efficiency for the welfare of
the Mexican people.

All the Foundations investments were made in a very conservative way; it’s
our opinion that in the future they will leave more or less an income of 70 million
pesos a year. Once the pensions and reserves have been deducted we will have a
net of 55 million pesos which will be spent entirely, according to the expressed
wishes of the founder.
In spite of the University of Puebla corner stone being placed today, this is
one of the projects witch is partly pending due to different causes. We are going to
contribute but the idea, is to have it totally built if some circumstances are modified which has made it difficult.
Another project which will immediately be put into effect is the construction
of Club Alpha number 3, as number 1 and 2 have been of great benefit to Puebla.
Even though there are no limitations as far as where in the Mexican Republic the income of this fortune should be spent, knowing what Mr. Jenkins did in
this City which he loved so much, the Patronage has decided up to now, spending
most of it here.
Year by year, we plan to give detailed full information of the Foundation’s incoming and out going funds in this same place, as we feel that besides informing
the people, we are doing it to the ones that worked so hard in order to accumulate
the capital that this Foundation manages.
