PARA UN PROGRAMA DEL INTERCAMBIO DE
ESTUDIANTES
ENTRE
LA UNIVERSIDAD DE GUADALAJARA (JALISCO, MÉXICO)
Y LA OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY (OKLAHOMA, EEUU)
Para fomentar el entendimiento internacional y la cooperación académica, la
Universidad de Guadalajara (en lo sucesivo denominada la UdeG) y la Oklahoma
State University (en lo sucesivo denominada la OSU) acuerdan establecer el
siguiente programa del intercambio de estudiantes.
El propósito principal de este convenio es para establecer un intercambio de
estudiantes de nivel licenciatura y de posgrado entre la UdeG y la OSU que
proporcionará a los estudiantes participantes una oportunidad de estudiar en y
beneficiar del entorno académico y cultural de la institución socia.

2. Selección Anual y Revisión: La OSU y la UdeG acordarán del número de
las estudiantes de intercambio para diciembre de cada año para el año
académico siguiente. La UdeG y la OSU revisarán anualmente el programa
para cualquier desbalance del número de estudiantes y se ajustarán los
números de estudiantes de intercambio en el año siguiente, como sea
necesario, para mantener un equilibrio razonable en el intercambio.
Con el propósito de mantener la reciprocidad entre las instituciones, dos
estudiantes por un semestre son iguales a un estudiante por el año
académico entero.
3. Programa Académico: EI(los) estudiante(s) participante(s), que sea por el
año académico o un semestre, será inscrito en la institución receptora para
participar en un programa de tiempo completo y no obtendrá un título. Los
estudiantes participantes podrán tomar cursps del nivel apropiado en todos
los departamentos sujetos a las limitaciones de inscripción y al acuerdo del
jefe del departamento implicado. La institución de origen determinará la
transferencia de créditos académicos y la aplicabilidad de cursos al
programa de estudios para sus propios estudiantes.
Se entiende que los estudiantes participantes de la OSU completarán no
más de veinticinco por ciento (25%) de su programa de título en la UdeG.
4. Elegibilidad de Estudiantes: La UdeG y la OSU acuerdan seleccionar a
los estudiantes que tienen el historial académico y competencia de idioma
suficientes para beneficiarse de participar en las clases regulares en la
institución receptora. El programa de intercambio estará abierto a los
estudiantes que han completado al menos una año de estudios de nivel
licenciatura. La institución de origen seleccionará a los estudiantes de base
del mérito académico, la competencia de idioma y otros factores acordados
por ambas instituciones. Se espera que la institución de origen proponga
candidatos que cumplen con los requisitos mínimos para admisión en la
institución receptora. Los estudiantes seleccionados por la institución de
origen, normalmente, serán aceptados por la institución receptora, pero
cada institución se reserva el derecho declinar aceptar cualquier estudiante.
5. Alojamiento y Otra Ayuda: La institución receptora ayudará en la medida de
sus posibilidades, con el arreglo del alojamiento adecuado en las
residencias universitarias. La institución receptora ayudará a los estudiantes
participantes en obtener los documentos de la visa y la información de
alojamiento y ofrecerá una orientación en sitio. La UdeG y la OSU
proporcionarán la información y las indicaciones necesarias para que los
estudiantes se inscriban y participen en las conferencias, los seminarios y
programas de investigación más indicados a su programa de estudios y su
propio nivel de logro.
(A) Cada institución proporcionará, a petición del interesado, una lista de
costos relacionados a la educación, incluyendo pero no limitados a
libros, suministros, transporte local y tales gastos incidentales que los
estudiantes podrán esperar incurrir durante su programa de estudios.
(B) Cada institución proporcionará, sin demora, a la otra las fechas exactas
de inscripción para sus programas, incluyendo las fechas de inicio y
terminación de cada semestre de su año académico.
(C) Para cada semestre de inscripción, las instituciones
receptoras
proporcionarán, puntualmente, una evaluación de la participación de
académica y el rendimiento de exámenes para cada estudiante de
intercambio. Al completar el programa de estudios, la institución
receptora enviará a la institución de origen, lo más pronto posible, un
informe con las calificaciones
obtenidas
por cada estudiante
participante.
(A) Los estudiantes participantes serán responsables del transporte de ida y
vuelta, el alojamiento, la alimentación, los libros y suministros, el
transporte local, los seguros médicos y los gastos personales,
incluyendo cuotas especiales que puedan ser requeridas por parte de
los participantes de intercambio y/o de otros estudiantes internacionales.
Ninguna de las dos instituciones será responsable de tales costos. Se
espera que los solicitantes proporcionen un comprobante por escrito de
fondos suficientes, como sea determinado por la institución receptora,
para mantenerse durante el periodo de intercambio.
(B) Se da por entendido que todos los estudiantes participantes deban
obtener seguros médicos contra todo riesgo en la institución receptora
para el periodo de intercambio, incluyendo la evacuación y repatriación
médica, a menos que puedan presentar un comprobante de cobertura
comparable o mejor.
(C) Los estudiantes participantes estarán sujetos a y deberán apegarse a
las leyes y reglamentos de la institución receptora, incluyendo las
mismas leyes institucionales respecto a el rendimiento académico
pertenecientes a los estudiantes regulares en la institución receptora.
(D) Los estudiantes participantes que están aceptados por un año
académico deberán completar satisfactoriamente su primer programa
semestral en la institución receptora, de acuerdo con los requisitos
académicos para los estudiantes regulares en la institución receptora. Si
no completan el primer programa semestral de modo satisfactorio, la
institución receptora podrá exigir que el estudiante participante regrese a
su institución de origen.
8. Coordinación: La UdeG y la OSU designan las siguientes oficinas para
coordinar los programas del intercambio de estudiantes:

intercambio, asegurando reportes apropiados y asistiendo con el ajuste de
los estudiantes.

PARA LOS ESTUDIANTES
RECIBEN APOYO FINANCIERO
DE
LA
OSU
QUE
Para que los estudiantes participantes de la OSU tengan derecho de recibir
apoyo financiero federal bajo los programas de Federal Title IV Student Aid, las
siguientes condiciones deben ser acordadas:
1. Los estudiantes participantes de la OSU serán considerados inscritos de
tiempo completo en la OSU, la cual será considerada su institución de
origen y procesará el apoyo financiero federal y estatal de los estudiantes
(si es legalmente posible). Serán considerados como estudiantes visitantes
en la UdeG, la institución receptora.
2. La OSU utilizará el costo de la información educativa y las fechas de
inscripción proporcionadas por la institución receptora para determinar la
elegibilidad de apoyo financiero y para programar el desembolso; véase la
Sección 11, el párrafo 6(A) y (B).
3. La institución receptora notificará, sin demora, la OSU si un estudiante de la
OSU se retira del programa de estudios y especificará el último día de
asistencia. Entonces, la OSU será responsable de realizar un cálculo de
reembolso y distribuir los reembolsos a las cuentas de apoyo estudiantil de
las instituciones federales.
4. La OSU será responsable de monitorear el progreso académico
satisfactorio de sus estudiantes participantes con relación a los programas
de apoyo financiero federales y estatales, utilizando las calificaciones de los
estudiantes o la evaluación de progreso académico proporcionado por la
institución receptora; véase la Sección 11, el párrafo 6(C).
1. Este Convenio no conlleva implicación financiera alguna para las
instituciones firmantes, excepto para el exento de cuotas de inscripción y
matrícula mencionado anteriormente, si es aplicable.
2. Se da por entendido que este Convenio en ninguna manera suplanta
cualquier otro convenio que una de las dos instituciones tenga con otras
universidades u organizaciones académicas.
3. Este Convenio entrará en vigor con la firma de ambas partes, y tendrá una
vigencia de 5 años y continuará a partir de entonces sujeto a la revisión o
modificación por mutuo acuerdo hasta que sea terminado por una de las
dos partes del presente. Cada institución podrá dar notificación de terminar
la participación. Se dará dicha notificación al menos doce (12) meses antes
del inicio del año académico en el cual será efectiva y el convenio terminará
en ese momento. Si el Convenio está terminado, la institución que ha
recibido el número mayor de estudiantes hasta tal fecha, tendrá el derecho
de enviar a la otra institución a número suficiente de estudiantes para
rectificar cualquier desbalance existente, dentro de dos (2) años después
de la fecha de terminación del Convenio.
El Convenio es formalizado por los representantes autorizados de la
Universidad de Guadalajara y la Oklahoma State University por duplicado,
cada una de las cuales será considerada una original.

CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENT FOR A STUDENT EXCHANGE PROGRAM
BETWEEN
UNIVERSIDAD DE GUADALAJARA (JALISCO, MEXICO)
ANO OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY (OKLAHOMA, USA)
In order to further international understanding and academic cooperation, Universidad de
Guadalajara (hereinafter referred to as UdeG) and Oklahoma State University (hereinafter
referred to as OSU) agree to establish the following student exchange programo
The primary purpose of this agreement is to institute an exchange of undergraduate
and graduate students between UdeG and OSU that will provide student participants with an
opportunity to study in and benefit from the academic and cultural environment of the other.
1. Exchange Type: The participating students will pay applicable tuition and fe es to
their own Home Institution and will be exempt from paying tuition and general fees at the
Host Institution. They are responsible for all other costs related to the exchange, including
lodging and meals.
2. Annual Selection and Review: OSU and UdeG will agree upon the number of
the students to be exchanged by December of each year for the following academic year.
UdeG and OSU will review the program annually for any imbalances in the number of
students exchanged and will adjust the numbers of students exchanged the following year,
as necessary, to maintain a reasonable balance in the exchange.
For the purposes of reciprocity between the Institutions, two students for one semester are
equal to one student for the entire academic year.
3. Academic Program: The participating student(s), for one year or one semester,
will be registered at the Host Institution to take part in a full-time non-degree-seeking
programo Participating students will be free to take courses at an appropriate level in all
departments subject to enrollment limitations and the agreement of the head of the
department concerned. The Home Institution will determine transfer of academic credit and
applicability of courses to the degree program for its own students.
It is understood that participating OSU students will complete no more than twenty five
percent (25%) of their degree program at UdeG.
4. Student Eligibility:
UdeG and OSU agree to select students who have the
academic background and language skills to enable them to benefit from participation in
regular university classes at the Host Institution. The exchange program will be open to
students who have completed at least one year of undergraduate study. The Home
Institution will select students for the exchange on the basis of academic merit, language
ability, and other factors as agreed upon by both institutions. It is expected that the home
Institution will propose candidates who meet at least the mínimum requirements fo:
admission at the Host Institution. Students chosen by the Home Institution shall normHlly be
accepted by the Host Institution, but each institution reserves the right to decline to admit
any student.
5. Housing and Other Assistance: The Host Institution will assist, as much as
possible, in securing appropriate housing in university residence halls. The Host Institution
will assist participating students to obtain appropriate visa documents and lodging
information and will offer an on-site orientation. Both UdeG and OSU will provide the
information and guidance necessary for participating students to be placed and to participate
in the lectures, seminars, and research programs best suited to their program of study and
their own level of achievement.
(A) Each institute will provide the other institution, upon request, with a list of
educationally related costs, including, but not limited to books, supplies, local transportation,
and such other incidental expenses that students can expect to incur during their program of
studies.
(B) Each institution will promptly provide the other institution with the exact dates of
enrollment for their programs, including the beginning and ending dates of each of the
semester/terms in their academic year.
(C) For each term of enrollment, each institution wil! promptly provide an assessment
of each visiting student's seminar and course participation and examination performance at
the Host institution. Upon completion of the program of study, the Host Institution will
provide to the Home Institution, in a timely manner, academic transcripts on behalf of
participating students.
(A) The participating students, themselves, are responsible for round trip
transportation, lodging and meals, books and supplies, local travel, medical insurance, and
personal expenditures, including special fees as may be required of exchange participants
and/or other international students. Neither institution shall be held responsible for such
charges. Applicants will be expected to provide a written guarantee of sufficient funds, as
determined by the Host Institution, to support themselves during the exchange periodo
(B) It is understood that all participating students must purchase at their Host
Institution comprehensive health insurance for their time abroad, including medical
evacuation and repatriation benefits, unless they can present evidence of comparable or
betler coverage.
(C) Participating students will be subject to and must abide by all the rules and
regulations of the Host Institution, including the same institutional regulations regarding
academic performance as pertains to regularly enrolled students at the Host Institution.

Participating students who are accepted for a fuI! academic year must
satisfactorily complete their first semester program at the Host Institution, in accordance with
the Host Institution's academic requirements for its regularly enrolled students. If the first
semester program has not been satisfactorily completed, the Host Institution may ask the
participating student to return to his/her Home Institution.
8. Coordination: UdeG and OSU designate the following oftices to coordinate the
student exchange programs:

The offices will serve as a liaison between the two institutions and will be responsible for
overseeing the selection of students to participate in the exchange, ensuring appropriate
reporting, and assisting with the students' adjustment.
In order for OSU participating student(s) to be eligible for federal financial aid under the
Federal Title IV Student Aid programs, the following conditions must be agreed upon:
1. Participating OSU students will be considered enrolled full-time at OSU, which will
be considered their Home Institution and which will process students' federal and state
financial aid (if legally possible). They will be considered visiting students at UdeG, the Host
Institution.
2. OSU will use the cost of education information and the enrollment dates provided
by the Host Institution to determine financial aid eligibility and to schedule disbursement, see
Section 11, paragraph 6(A) and (B).
3. The Host Institution will promptly notify OSU if an OSU student withdraws from the
program of study and will specify the last day of attendance. OSU will then be responsible
for performing a refund/repayment calculation and distributing refunds to institutional federal
student aid accounts.
4. OSU is responsible for monitoring its participating students' satisfactory academic
progress relative to the federal and state financial aid assistance programs, using the
student's grades or statement of academic progress supplied by the Host Institution, see
Section 11, paragraph 6 (C).
1. This Agreement carries no financial implications for the signatory institutions,
except for the above-mentioned exemption from tuition and fees, if applicable.
2. It is understood that this Agreement in no way supersedes any other agreement
that either institution may have with other universities or academic organizations.
3. This Agreement will take effect when signed by both parties, and will be valid for
five (5) years. It and will continue thereafter subject to revision or modification by mutual
agreement until terminated by either of the parties hereto. Either individual institution may
give notice of intention to terminate participation. Such notice shall be given in writing
at least twelve (12) months before the beginning of the academic year in which it will take
effect and the agreement will terminate at that time. If the Agreement is terminated, the
institution having hosted the larger number of students to that time shall be entitled to send
to the other institution, within two (2) years from the date on which the Agreement was
terminated, a sufficient number of students to rectify any existing imbalance.
The Agreement is executed by the authorized representative of Universidad de Guadalajara
and Oklahoma State University in duplicate copies, each of which shall be deemed an
original.
