Dear Parishioners and Friends of Our Lady of Fatima,/
Queridos parroquianos y amigos de Nuestra Señora de Fátima,
It is with great sadness that our parish business manager Ron Runolfson retired on October 31st. Ron has had quite a job description including parish facilities manager, business
manager and all around trouble shooter. His service to the parish will be missed. However,
he promised me that he is still a member of the parish and would be receptive to helping
the parish out when we get into trouble.
Obtaining coverage for Ron’s duties has been a personal challenge. We hired a former marine and parishioner, Joseph DelaFuente to be a part-time facilities manager. He will cover
the responsibilities of managing our parish facilities on an as-needed-basis. As a marine,
Joseph garnered a lot experience in facilities upkeep and management and so we are grateful for his service to our country and his future service to our parish.
Next weekend we will have some lay witness talks given by parishioners on how they live
stewardship as a way of life. An element of stewardship that I find attractive is gratitude. I
believe that God has blessed me with many graces and as a result of those blessings I wish to give back to the Lord out of a sense of
gratitude. In the gospel of Luke, Zachaeus, the tax collector, gave half of his belongings to the poor and if he had cheated anyone he
reconciled with them. His encounter with Jesus led him to a change of heart.

All Souls Novena
Soctober Update
During the month of November, we remember in our prayers those
who have passed away during the past twelve months. A scroll listing
the names of our parish members is located in the sanctuary near the
ambo. A novena is being offered for all souls. To include the name
of a loved one, an offering envelope may be found at the church
entrances and may be placed in the offertory basket or dropped
off at the parish office.
Novena a nuestros Fieles Difuntos
oficina parroquial.
Catholic Mens Fellowship Meeting
NOVEMBER 9, 6:30 - 7:55AM
We are an informal group of men who discuss topics about faith,
fatherhood, and fraternity through Catholic eyes. We meet in
McGowan Hall on the 2nd and 4th Saturday morning of each
month. Our casual setting allows us to share issues and concerns
that are sometimes up-close and personal. You're welcome to join
us for refreshments and friendship.
Chris Phillips, site coordinator for Welcome INN recently picked up new socks
collected by our parish during the month
of October. Welcome INN is a grassroots,
collaborative effort of local churches
which provides a hot meal to the homeless
and hungry in our community 365 days a
year. Our Lady of Fatima through its FiSH
ministry participates in this collaborative
by preparing and serving a meal each Saturday throughout the year.
These socks will be distributed to those in need at the site in Capistrano Beach where 40-60 meals are served each day. To learn about
FiSH or to get involved, contact [email protected].

Our parish JustFaith (JF) program is
wrapping up the first of four phases
of prayer, study and reflection as
it considers the issues of poverty,
homelessness, immigration, and our
church's tradition of social justice.
On Saturday, October 19, members
of JF visited with guests of the Catholic
Worker House in Santa Ana to listen
to their stories. The next day, they
welcomed guest speaker Sr. Eileen
McNerney, CSJ, founder of Taller
San Jose which provides job training
and life skills to at risk young
adults in our county. Learn more

Admission: Free. You are invited to bring non-perishable food
items to stock the pantry at Family Assistance Ministries. 50 million
Americans—1 in 4 children—don’t know where their next meal is
coming from. A Place at the Table tells the powerful stories of three
such Americans, who maintain their dignity even as they struggle
just to eat. A Place at the Table is a riveting journey that will change
forever how you think about the hungry. For more info, contact
