Claudia Yañez is a Chilean mezzosoprano who studied voice lesson at the
Music Institute of the Universidad
Católica of Chile. Ms. Yañez graduated
with maximum distinction in 2002. Since
graduation, Ms. Yañez has participated in
a number of master classes and worked
with many differents teachers.
Ms. Yañez has been praised for her
expressive voice and generous register,
which allows her to interpret ample roles
within the mezzo-soprano repertoire. In
2000, Mss. Yañez had her debut in the
Teatro Municipal de Santiago in Chile, in
the national and international cast.
In 2005, Mss. Yañez received the
FONDART award to study voice with bel
canto specialist Claudia Pinza at the
University Duquesne in Pittsburg, USA.
Presently, Mss. Yañez performs regularly
in different concert halls, sings with the
opera choir of the Teatro Municipal de
Santiago and directs the newly formed
Opera Company Lírica Urbana.

Instituto de Música de la Universidad
Católica de Chile.
Junto a una serie de cursos de
perfeccionamiento y clases magistrales, el
año 2005 fue becada por el FONDART
para realizar estudios con la Maestra
especialista en bel canto Claudia Pinza en
la Universidad Duquesne, Pittsburgh,
USA.
Su expresividad y generosas cualidades
vocales le permiten abarcar un extenso
repertorio dentro de la cuerda de
mezzosoprano.
A demás de haberse presentado en los
teatros y salas más importantes de Chile,
debuta como solista en el Teatro
Municipal de Santiago en el año 2000,
donde interpreta diferentes personajes en
las temporadas de ópera nacional e
internacional, junto con desarrollar sus
labores de integrante del coro
profesional.
Actualmente, también dirige la
recién formada Compañía Lírica Urbana
y produce proyectos artísticos a nivel
nacional.
