RECURSOS TURÍSTICOS
1. MUSEO DEL ITSMO
Actualmente el museo del istmo alberga lo que en su día fue la comandancia
militar, destinado a Pabellones con Jefes y Oficiales de Guarnición. Es el
edifico mas antiguo que existe en la ciudad, cuyos Pabellones de Sres.
Jefes y Oficiales datan del año 1863 a 1865.
2. RUINAS DEL FUERTE DE SANTA BÁRBARA.
Es una fortaleza militar levantada en el siglo XIII, durante el Sitio de Gibraltar.
Fue arrasado por los ingleses a principios del siglo XIX para que no fuera
utilizado por los franceses en la Guerra de la Independencia.
3. RUTA DE LOS BUNKERS
Los Bunkers linenses forman el corazón de un sistema de fortificaciones
construido por España durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial con el fin de
frustrar una posible acción ofensiva desde la colonia de Gibraltar e impedir
también operaciones de flanqueo en las costas cercanas.
13-PEÑA CULTURAL FLAMENCA LINENSE
Exposición permanente de flamenco “La cuadra de Juan Mesa” gracias
a la ayuda del guitarrista, ofrece una colección etnográfica, fotográfica,
fonográfica y documental, desde Juanita Reina a Camarón. Un lugar para
agrandar el espíritu flamenco.
14. PLAYAS
Sus 14 kms de playas ( 7 kms de playas vírgenes en La Alcaidesa) se dividen
en dos litorales de naturaleza muy diferente que unidos a su benigna
climatología hacen de sus playas un enclave perfecto para los que buscan
la calidez del sol, la frescura del agua, la tranquilidad... Como para los que
disfrutan de acción y practican deportes náuticos (submarinismo).

8. NEW TOWER
This tower is part of the 44 towers outlining the coast from the river Guadiaro to the
border with Portugal.The purpose of these towers was to warn the inhabitants of the
coast about the danger of the presence of Barbary pirate ships.
9. MONUMENT TO SPANISH WORKER IN GIBRALTAR
Nacho Falguera’s work it is the tribute to the thousands of people from “El
campo de Gibraltar” who worked part of their life in Gibraltar.
10. BULLFIGHTING MUSEUM “PEPE CABRERA”
OCIO Y DIVERSIONES NOCTURNAS
Opened in 1960 was founded by Jose Cabrera who was a big fan of bulls and
throughout his life he collected many artwork of bullfighting work continued
by his descendantsis one of the most important collections nationwide.

11. MARINA ALCAIDESA
La Gastronomía es un gran valor para la ciudad. En cualquier rincón linense
el visitante puede disfrutar de los manjares típicos la cocina tradicional,
mediterránea y marinera. En el típico Barrio de la Atunara (con platos típicos
como el espeto de sardinas, el pulpo asado, la sopa de mariscos, el potaje
de jibia) y en la zona centro de la ciudad (gran variedad de montaditos y
canapés). Además de sus chiringuitos a pie de playa, donde podrás comer
pescadito y tirarte en sus tumbonas…

5. CALLE REAL
PUBS Y DISCOTECAS
Es una de las más emblemáticas de la Línea. En ella se encuentran
numerosas tiendas y las cafeterías más antiguas de la ciudad.
La mayoría de los pubs se encuentra en la C/ López de Ayala y en la Plaza
Cruz Herrera donde podras disfrutar de ellos hasta las 4:00 de la madrugada
durante todo el año.
Como discotecas encontramos ”Portobello”, ”Dallas”, ”Chocolat” y para un
publico mas adulto “Las Palmeras” hasta las 7-8 de la mañana.
En verano podemos disfrutar de numerosas carpas y chiringuitos en las
playas de Levante y Poniente.

4. LOS JARDINES MUNICIPALES “SACCONE” Y MUSEO CRUZ HERRERA
En este lugar existía una extensa huerta que adquirió el señor Saccone
de Gibraltar, donde edificó un palacete rodeado de unos magníficos
jardines creados por D. Ernesto Codali Butti, (floricultor italiano). En 1922 el
ayuntamiento adquirió esta finca. Hasta el año 2010 fue usado como tal,
actualmente se encuentra el Museo Cruz Herrera.
6. IGLESIA INMACULADA
Levantada en el siglo XVIII sobre los restos de un antiguo templo. Cabe
destacar su retablo del siglo XVII y la imagen de la virgen, obra de Ortega
Bru. La Virgen Inmaculada es la patrona de La Línea de la Concepción y su
festividad se celebra el 8 de diciembre.
7. PLAZA DE LA IGLESIA
Antiguamente era una plaza transitable al tráfico, actualmente es peatonal y
da acceso a las principales calles de la ciudad. En sus alrededores podemos
encontrar cafeterías y comercios. En el centro de la plaza encontramos el
monumento de “Las Tres Gracias” obra de Nacho Falgueras que representa el
cuadro del pintor linense José Cruz Herrera. Inaugurado recientemente es un
homenaje a las mujeres linense saliendo de misa.
8. TORRE NUEVA
Esta torre forma parte de las 44 torres que contorneaban la costa desde
el río Guadiaro hasta la frontera con Portugal. La finalidad de estas torres
eran avisar del peligro que corrían los habitantes del litoral por la presencia
de los barcos de piratas berberiscos.
9. MONUMENTO AL TRABAJADOR ESPAÑOL EN GIBRALTAR
Obra de Nacho Falgueras en homenaje a los miles de linenses y campo
gibraltareños que se dejaron parte de su vida trabajando en Gibraltar.
10. MUSEO TAURINO “PEPE CABRERA”
Inaugurado en 1960, fué fundado por José Cabrera gran aficionado a
los toros que recopiló a lo largo de su vida numerosas muestras del arte
taurino. Esta labor continuada por sus descendientes hasta convertir la
colección en una de las más importantes a nivel nacional.

14. BEACHES
Its 14 kms. of beaches of which 7 can be considered unspoilt, divide the city
into two very different coasts of nature that allow you to enjoy a day by the
seas whatever the weather and seasonal conditions. An unique location both for
those who wish to enjoy a relaxing day at the beach or having a drink at a beach
bar as well as for those who enjoy more active activities and they can practice
water sports such as kite surfing, canoeing, sailing or diving.
1. ITSMO MUSEUM
Currently the Istmo museum houses what once was the military command,
destined to be Pavilions for Chiefs and Garrison officers. It is the oldest building
that exists in the city, whose pavilions for Chiefs and Officers date from 1863-1865.
2. RUINS OF FORT SANTA BÁRBARA.
It is a military fortress built in the thirteenth century, during the Siege of
Gibraltar. It was destroyed by the British in early nineteenth century so
that they would not be used by the French in the War of Independence.
3. BUNKER ROUTE
The Bunkers in La Linea form the heart of a fortification system built by Spain
during World War II in order to thwart a possible offensive action from the
Gibraltar colony and also to prevent outflanking operations on nearby coasts.
4. PUBLIC GARDENS “SACCONE” AND CRUZ HERRERA MUSEUM
There was an extensive garden in this place which was acquired by
Mr. Saccone from Gibraltar. In this place he built a mansion which was
surrounded by magnificent gardens who were created by Mr. Ernesto
CodaliButti. In 1922 the city hall acquired this property. Until 2010 it has
been used as city hall, and is currently housing the Cruz Herrera Museum.

It is one of the most emblematic streets in La Linea, where you can find
many shops and the eldest cafes in the city.
6. INMACULADA CHURCH
Built in the eighteenth century on the ruins of an ancient temple, it
includes a seventeenth-century altarpiece and the image of the Virgin,
Ortega Bru’s work. The VirgenInmaculada is the patroness of La Linea de
la Concepción and its holiday is celebrated on December 8.
7. THE CHURCH SQUARE
Formerly a square passable to traffic but it is now pedestrian with access
to the main streets of the city.
LEISURE AND AMUSEMENT
TAPAS
La Linea is renowned for its great tapas, at any corner visitors can enjoy
typical Tapa dishes (traditional, Mediterranean & seafood cuisine). In the
typical “Barrio de la Atunara” you can find dishes like grilled sardines, grilled
octopus, seafood soup, cuttlefish stew and in the town centre you can find
a variety of canapés, rolls and canapés. In addition on the many sunny days
you can enjoy the beach bars, where you can eat fish and get settled on
Balinese beds and sunbeds.
PUBS AND DISCOTHEQUES
Most pubs are located in the street López de Ayala and at Cruz Herrera
square whereyou can enjoy them until 4:00 am throughout the year. As
discotheque you can find ”Portobello”, ”Dallas and for a more adult audience
“Las Palmeras” until 7-8 in the morning. In summer we can find numerous
tents and bars on the beaches of Levante and Poniente.
