It is God who created the heavens and the earth and all they contain. It is God who created us, and in Him we live and move and have our being. Yet we sometimes think we are in control. That is what happened in the first reading from the book of Job. Job experiences loss of property, possessions, family and physical health. These losses cause Job to question God. In the reading today God reminds Job who is in control be reminding Job who it was who put boundaries on the heavens and the seas. In the gospel we observe that the sea is out of control. It is Jesus, God‘s Son, who calms it. God is in control. But, like the disciples, we sometimes forget this and become terrified. Jesus asks us: ―Why are you terrified? Do you not have faith?‖ If we trust God and realize He is in control – why worry? He loves you and me. He died for us. St. Paul reminds us in the second reading: ―He indeed died for all, so that those who live might no longer live for themselves, but for Him.‖ We are each God‘s creation. Let us live and move and allow our being to be under God‘s control. Peace. Fr. Tom FAREWELL TO FR. JAMES – Today, June 21, will be the last day that Fr. James will be with us here at Sacred Heart. We are thankful for his service here and for filling in after the departure of Fr. Eben. Asking God‘s blessing upon him in his future ministry. SAVE THE DATE – 2015 is the 125 Anniversary of Sacred Heart Parish, Lancaster. We will have a special Jubilee Mass celebrating this milestone on Sunday, September 6, 2015 at the 5:30pm Mass. Archbishop Jose Gomez will be here to celebrate this special event with us. PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL – Our Parish Pastoral Council has this mission statement: ―Our purpose is to assist our pastor in the pastoral care of the parish community. ¿A caso no tienen fe?‖. —Fray Gilberto Cavazos-Glz, OFM, Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
