desarrollo y la producción de una amplia

Escofet trabaja con diferentes materiales
(hormigón moldeado, fundición, acero inoxidable, acero Cor-Ten, madera...) investigando e innovando para conseguir la mejor
calidad en acabados, texturas, colores y
utilización de nuevos materiales.
Desde piezas de sencilla manufactura
como escalones, bordillos o remates, hasta
los elementos más singulares de alto valor
añadido en los que se ha aplicado la mejor
tecnología de producción, Escofet colabora
con el diseñador desde la fase creativa
hasta su ejecución técnica.

Con motivo de la celebración de la 32ª edición de
la Copa América, se ha construido sobre la dársena
del puerto de Valencia, el edificio “Veles e Vents”,
según proyecto de David Chipperfield y Fermín Vázquez (B720). La obra incluye un edificio principal de
invitados, un edificio de aparcamiento en continuidad y la zona del parque. Escofet ha prefabricado
unos cerramientos de sección dentada de hormigón
moldeado de color gris oscuro, interrumpido con la
incorporación de escaleras de comunicación entre
la plataforma superior y el paseo paralelo al canal.
Con el mismo material y acabado de los paneles
también ha producido bancas SOCRATES, jardineras de gran volumen y ceniceros NET. La papelera
BIN de acero Cor-Ten es el modelo instalado en
todo el espacio exterior.

The “Veles e Vents” building was built on the dock of
Valencia port on the occasion of the 32nd America’s
Cup according to a project by David Chipperfield
and Fermín Vázquez (B720). The project includes a
main building for guests, an adjacent car-park building and a park area. Escofet prefabricated some of
the serrated-section sidings using dark-grey cast
concrete, interrupted by the addition of stairways
communicating the top plane with the promenade
parallel to the canal. The same material and finish
of the panels was also used to produce SOCRATES
benches, large flowerbeds and NET ashtrays. CorTen steel BIN litter bins are installed throughout the
outdoor areas.

The international contest summoned
for the extension of the enclosure
of “Fira de Barcelona”, gained by
Toyo Ito, architect, has supposed
for Escofet a great opportunity for
the development of new elements of
landscape that conjugate the nature
with the architecture of the pavilions.
The light and the water like alive elements, the search of the weightlessness, constants in the work of the
architect, are materialized in 1 tree
surrounds, liquid metaphor of great
plasticity, the set of “banca ola” 2
that emerge and they submerge in
the pavement, floral jets 3 in the
monumental fountain and the Naguisa banks 4 , installed the main
access before of fairground, in clear
allegory to the frothy curves that to
the sea leaves on the sand.

para la ampliación del recinto de Fira
de Barcelona, ganado por el arquitecto Toyo Ito, ha supuesto para Escofet
una gran oportunidad para el desarrollo de nuevos elementos de paisaje que conjugan la naturaleza con la
arquitectura de los pabellones.
La luz y el agua como elementos
vivos, la búsqueda de la ingravidez,
constantes en la obra del arquitecto,
se materializan en los alcorques 1 ,
metáfora líquida de gran plasticidad, el conjunto de bancas ola 2
que emergen y se sumergen en el
pavimento, los surtidores florales
3 en la fuente monumental y los
bancos Naguisa 4 , instalados enfrente del acceso principal del recinto
Ferial, en clara alegoría a las curvas
espumosas que al mar deja sobre la

La transformación urbanística de la zona del Fórum de las Culturas 2004 de Barcelona genera nuevos lugares y paisajes para la ciudad. Espacios públicos de gran escala que se articulan a lo largo del litoral Nordeste: la Explanada del Fórum, el Parc
dels Auditoris, la zona de Baños, el Port de Sant Adrià y el Parc de la Pau; espacios
que conforman una variedad de situaciones donde la relación con el mar y con los
nuevos equipamientos e instalaciones va definiendo el carácter de cada zona.
Elementos como Hebi, Murllum, Odesa y Xurret System nacen con la capacidad de
configurar el espacio que colonizan. Elementos innovadores que condensan la energía de los nuevos lugares del paisaje urbano y que coexisten con elementos anónimos que aportan la materialidad a lo proyectado (escaleras, gradas, bordillos...).
Estos elementos especiales coexisten con standards como las columnas Kanya, la
papelera Pedra Negra, la fuente Lama, los Bolardos, la Sillarga: elementos de larga
serie que demuestran su universalidad y actualidad.

The urban transformation of the area of the Forum of the Cultures in 2004 in Barcelona generated new spaces and new landscapes for the city. Large scale public
spaces were formed along the coast to the north east of the city: the Esplanade of
the Forum, the Auditorium Park, the bathing zone, Sant Adrià port and the Parc de la
Pau. All of these spaces gave rise to a variety of situations in which the relationship
between the sea, the new equipment and installations would define the character
of each zone.
Elements such as Hebi, Murllum, Odesa and the Xurret System are born with the
capacity to shape the space where they take hold. They are innovative elements
that condense the energy of the new urban landscape spaces and which co-exist alongside anonymous elements with which the projects are materialized (stairs,
tiers, kerbs..).
These special elements are alongside standard ones such as the Kanya columns,
the Pedra Negra waste paper container, the Lama fountain, the Bollards, the Sillarga: they are long series elements. Their universality is manifest, and it is clear
they are designs of today.

Generalmente las empresas editoras de elementos
urbanos, a falta de detectar nuevas necesidades, buscan
respuestas heterogéneas a las necesidades de siempre.
Bien sea variando su materialidad, bien su proceso de
construcción. El resultado son catálogos cada vez más
amplios con piezas figurativamente distintas pero con
preocupaciones comunes.
El devenir de los acontecimientos nos impulsa irremediablemente hacia una creciente especialización en la que las
compañías permutan el papel de meros suministradores
de elementos urbanos por el de consultores especialistas
en el desarrollo de proyectos de creciente complejidad. En
esta situación, ESCOFET se sitúa en la intersección arquitecto-proyecto-producto, con la mejor ventaja competitiva
para gestionar estos proyectos y estandarizar piezas
singulares, por complejas que sean, en elementos de uso

Generally speaking, when companies producing urban
furniture find that they cannot discern new needs, they
seek heterogeneous responses to the customary requirements, either by changing material aspects or changing the
building process. The result is items that are figuratively
different but with common concerns, and brand catalogues
increasingly broad in scope.
The onward march of events necessarily impels us towards
a growing specialisation where manufacturers are moving
from being mere suppliers of urban furniture to acting as
specialist consultants in developing projects of ever-rising
complexity. Faced with this situation, ESCOFET stands
where the architect, project and product come together,
with the best competitive advantage for handling those
projects and standardising individual pieces, however
complex, to make them items for universal use.
To grow in this context of a homogeneous market, it is
essential to work in a multi-disciplinary way with external
teams of architects, designers and artists. People who are
capable of reinterpreting each process, each material over
and over again until they finally achieve results that will
enable us to drive a new generation of more stimulating
fixtures.
