Praise be Jesus Christ...Now and forever!
Alabado sea Jesucristo... Ahora y siempre!
I am very interested in early American
history. I enjoy studying Native Americans
and their cultures and traditions. When the
Pilgrims came, the American continent was
occupied by many different tribes made up
of different cultures, gods, languages and styles of
life. Then the Spanish, English and French came and
wanted to make the natives into their own image. The
Europeans were militarily more developed. These
powers were very different from those of the
pilgrims. They didn't respect the local cultures and
felt they were more superior. The natives were a
welcoming people and helped them to survive.

Now, it is our time to help others and to be more
welcoming and to help them to survive and prosper.
We are all pilgrims or descendants of pilgrims/
immigrants. When we come to the Thanksgiving
table, let us remember that we are all children of God
and knowingly or unknowingly, Christ is our King.
This Sunday we celebrate Christ the King. What kind
of King is He for us?
nuestro Rey. Este domingo celebramos a Cristo Rey. ¿Qué
clase de Rey es Él para nosotros?
This is the last weekend that Pam Kollman will be
working at St. Colette. After taking some time to
discern, she has decided to return to her family
business. We are thankful to her for her service to our
community. I was surprised when she decided to
leave us. However, I wish her all the best. Thank you
Pam! You will be missed.
Happy Thanksgiving Day to all! I will be with my
family that day. My mom is cooking.

St Colette Parish has 16 families in need. Let's do
something special for them for Thanksgiving and

que ponemos en dar". Madre Teresa

Mass Tuesday
A Liturgy Committee was created. The members of
this Committee are the heads of the liturgical
ministries: Marge Loesch, Gail McCusker, Donnie
Shirmer, Julie Vinezeano, and Patty Sedano.
Two decisions have been made by this committee:
1. Beginning with Christmas, we will switch to the
precious metal communion cups.
2. Beginning in the First Sunday of Advent, we will
kneel after the Lamb of God during the prayer: This
is the Lamb of God....
Why are we going to do this? In 2010, the Vatican
approved a new translation for the Mass. During this
time, some changes were made. The late Cardinal
Francis George, OMI asked all the parishes to accept
these changes. Somehow, they were never
implemented at St. Colette. After six years, the
Liturgy Committee has decided to implement them. I
hope all of us are going to be open to the change. Our
liturgical celebrations will be more in union with the
rest of the Archdiocese.

TO THE PARISHIONERS, SHARE FAITH
FAMILIES, FOCUS, SCHOOL TEACHERS,
CATECHISTS AND STAFF OF ST. COLETTE
With a very heavy heart, the time has come to say
goodbye to everyone that has made me smile and feel very
welcome over the past three years at St. Colette I would
like to say that there have been many great people here,
both past and present that have made my job as the
Coordinator of Share Faith truly enjoyable.
A LOS FELIGRESES, FAMILIAS DE SHARE FAITH,
FOCUS, MAESTROS ESCOLARES, CATEQUISTAS Y
PERSONAL DE ST. COLETTE
Me
Father Brian, I would especially like to “thank you” for
your love and concern you have always had for Share
Faith. Your support and guidance over the past three years
has been outstanding. I have truly enjoyed our time together working at St. Colette, and will miss our conversations that I have had the pleasure of having with you.
Father Michal, continue on your journey at St. Colette.
Your leadership and your spirit has been the beginning of
an experience and new opportunities that will bring the
love and mercy of God to the people of St. Colette. I wish
you the best of luck in your future endeavors, and may the
light of Christ go with you on your journey! It has truly
been a joy to work with you.
I have enjoyed my time here very much, although
shortened, I will miss all that St. Colette represents. As
with any special place it is the people who make it and it
will be those I will miss the most. The time that I have
spent with everyone here has been some of the best times
of my life and will be cherished in my book of memories.
I will miss all of you and wish you nothing but the best in
the future.
He disfrutado mi tiempo aquí mucho, aunque acortado,
Take care of St. Colette and continue your love and support for your parish. Thank you again for your kindness
and support. You will remain in my daily prayers and forever in my heart.
Until we meet again……..
Respectfully yours with sincere gratitude,
Pam Kollman

Mission Statement
We, the faith community of St. Colette, in proclaiming
the truth of the Gospel are committed to follow Jesus
Christ by being ”the salt of the earth” and “the light of
the world”. By our Baptism we are called to serve people of all cultures, migrants, and those who have no
voice of their own; our born and unborn children; victims of violence, and the impoverished. Empowered by
the Holy Spirit and nurtured by the Eucharist, we are led
to promote human dignity and justice for all people. We
believe that this is the way the Lord is calling us to be a
sign of His kingdom in this time and place.
