de Investigación y DocenciaEconómicas, the Universidad Autónoma de Ciudad
Juárez and the Colegio de la FronteraNorte.Her research refers to the study of the
Chicano/Mexicano population in the U.S., Mexico´s foreign policy and border issues.
Author of various articles published in Mexico and United States, including:The

David R. Maciel es doctor en Historia por la Universidad de California y Profesor
Emérito en la Universidad de Nuevo México y en UCLA. Ha tenido nombramientos
académicos en la Universidad de Arizona, la UNAM y el CIDE. Ha sido Profesor
Ditinguido Fulbright en Mexico en 1985, 1999 y 2013. Sus áreas de investigación
son historia chicana y mexicana, historia del Suroeste norteamericano, cine
mexicano y chicano y temas de frontera. Entre su obra publicada se encuentran los
libros: El bandolero, el pocho y la raza: imágenes cinematográficas del chicano;
Mexico’s Cinema: A Century of Films and Filmmakers; El cine mexicano a través de
la crítica; El México Perdido: el PuebloChicano; La otra cara de México: el pueblo
chicano; Chicanos/Chicanas at theCrossroads; The Chicano Renaissance.
Contemporary Cultural Trends; Culture across Borders: Mexican Immigration

Contemporary Cinema. Además ha publicado numerosos artículos y ensayos en
