Psalm 146
My Dear People,
Next month is dedicated to the Holy Rosary. How
often does your family pray the rosary together? What
might make that happen with more regularity and more
devotion? The 20 Mysteries of the Rosary offer a simple summary of the Gospel that deserves regular attention. Households with small children might pray a single decade of the rosary and spend some time simply
talking about the meaning of that one event with stories
and pictures to deepen the faith not only of the children
but of the parents as well. Some, myself included, like
to pray the rosary at the end of the day, which is fine as
long as you are not too sleepy to pay attention.
This month is also dedicated to the missionary work
of the Church, about which I will share some thoughts in
coming weeks.

Queridos Feligreses,

and women ! If you play an instrument or like to sing and are interested in participating
in this ministry, please contact Darlene Silbering after the 4 pm Vigil Mass or the
12 noon Mass or leave a message at the rectory office!
Saturday, September 24, is the memorial of “Our Lady of Mercy” in this Jubilee Year of Mercy. Our Lady is always seeking
to lead us to her Son’s mercy…and through that to help us become instruments of mercy ourselves. This week nurture your
faith and draw closer to Christ with a CD/book/booklet from our Resource display so Christ can empower you to recognize
Him in those in need. These resources are free to all “seekers”…for those able to make a donation for the resources, we thank
you for your generous donations that help to support the mission of Stewardship: A Mission of Faith and Lighthouse Catholic
Media to “feed hungry hearts”.

It’s That Time of Year Again…Camilla Hall Chances are Here!
For 90 years, our IHM Sisters offered service and a commitment to providing a quality education to the thousands
of children that attended St. Martin of Tours…as well as numerous other Catholic Parish Schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Some of these very Sisters, now residents of our Infirmary/Retirement Home, have traded
days of activity in school to one of daily prayer – remembering, often by name, our parishioners, students, their
families and benefactors. Your purchase of a chance book, or even one ticket, is one way of saying thanks for the
many years of dedicated service given by these Sisters. All proceeds of the chance drive will be used for the care
of our aged and sick Sisters living at Camilla. Chances will be sold after all Masses the weekend of October 1-2 at
each door of the church. The booklets are 6 chances for $5.00…$17,500 in cash prizes! (It would be helpful – and
a time saver - to bring your personal address labels for the chance stubs)
Thank you – and God bless you! The IHM Sisters at St. Martin of Tours
