Dedication Ceremony at Lucas Elementary
This month is lined up with many events, but one that will be here shortly after Labor Day is very special.
On September 5th, we will have another historical day for our school. Special guests will be in attendance
for the Lucas Elementary Dual Language Academy Dedication Ceremony. Every new school in the district
has a dedication ceremony in its inception year to honor everyone that helped add an additional learning
environment for our district and our students. Please join us on September 5th @ 10:30 am. Hot Dogs will
be served shortly after!

Este mes se alinea con muchos acontecimientos, pero uno que estará aquí poco después del Día del Trabajo
es muy especial. El 5 de septiembre, tendremos otro día histórico para nuestra escuela. Invitados especiales
asistirán a nuestra Ceremonia de la Inauguración de la Academia de Doble Idioma la Primaria Lucas. Cada
nueva escuela en el distrito tiene una ceremonia de dedicación en su año de su inicio para honrar a cada
uno que ayudó a añadir un ambiente de aprendizaje adicional para nuestro distrito y nuestros
estudiantes. Por favor acompáñenos el 5 de septiembre @ 10:30 am. ¡Hot dogs se servirán poco después!
Safety First / Seguridad Primero
PTC Informal Meeting
Lucas Elementary is continuously supervising the safety of our students. One of
the ways is to promote a Safe School
Zone message. We want all of our students to enjoy their learning, their classmates, and their school. This is one example of how our school thinks of
safety first!
Nuestra escuela continuamente tiene
supervisión de la seguridad de nuestros
estudiantes. Una de las formas es promover un mensaje de
Zona de Escuela Segura. Queremos que todos nuestros estudiantes disfruten de su aprendizaje, sus compañeros de clase,
y su escuela. Este es un ejemplo de cómo la escuela piensa en
la seguridad primero!

session on August 28, there is no need
to attend as we will be sharing the same
information that was

Leyendo en la casa / Reading at Home
Estrategia de lectura: Los estudiantes comienzan leer
independientemente cuando reconocen palabras por vista.
Cuanto más practican a leer, más fluidos se convierten.
20 minutos de leer diariamente se puede maximizarse por tener
un padre como un guía de leer. Primero lee el padre. Seguido
leyendo juntos. El estudiante puede leer después con ayuda de los
padres. Finalmente, el estudiante lee por sí mismo. ¡Inténtelo!
Reading Strategy: Students start reading independently when
they recognize words by site. The more they practice reading, the
more fluid readers they become. 20 minutes of Reading on a
daily basis can be maximized by having a parent guide
the Reading. First the parent reads. Followed by reading
together. Student can read after with parent assistance.
Finally, the student reads by themselves. Try it!

ACADEMY / ACADEMIA
Lucas Parent Academy session #1 will focus
on the introduction of Bilingual Education
and our current routines to better understand the program. Times will be from
4:00—6:00 pm on Wednesday September 18.
La Academia de Padres primer sesión se
centrará en la introducción de la educación
bilingüe y nuestras rutinas actuales para
entender mejor el programa. Tiempos serán de
