Dear Parents and Guardians,
We are very excited to be working with your child in the GEAR UP program this
year! As we move closer to the beginning of the school year, we need to measure your
child for his or her uniform for all GEAR UP students. All GEAR UP students in Gwinnett
County wear uniforms daily–as it helps increase the prestige of our high level
academies. This will also ensure that students are not distracted by clothing, can better
focus on their studies, and will continue to be outstanding role models in the school as
they are looked upon by their peers with high regard.
We have found a vendor who has created a package especially for Sweetwater
Middle School for $60. This package will include: a red polo shirt, a grey polo shirt, a
navy polo shirt, a navy cardigan sweater and a string book bag with your child’s name
on it. All items will have the GEAR UP logo.
Additional items may be purchased separately, if you would like.
Parents will then only need to purchase khaki and/or navy bottoms, pants or skirts.
Skirts must be to the knee, please. These can be found at almost any store-Target,
Wal-Mart or JCPenney. Belts will also be required.
In order to have the correct fit for your child, we are asking that you stop by
the Sweetwater Middle School Media Center with your student, either Wednesday
June 22nd or Thursday July 21st between the hours of 9:30 a.m.– 2:00 p.m.
Teachers will be there to assist you and record your student size. At that time,
cash of $60 or cashiers check for $60 will be required-NO checks will
be accepted. Thank you and see you then!

"Estamos muy complacidos de poder trabajar con su niño(a) en el programa
programa de GEAR UP el próximo año escolar. A medida que se aproxima el inicio de
clases, necesitamos tomar las medidas para el uniforme de su hijo, los estudiantes del
programa de GEAR UP usan uniforme en todas las escuelas del condado de Gwinnett

podrá comprarlos separadamente. Esta vestimenta se completa con un pantalón o
falda de color caqui o azul. Si su niña usa falda esta deberá llegar a la altura de la
rodilla.Las tiendas de Target, Walmart o JCpenney están vendiendo estas prendas.
Cinturón es requerido.
Para tener la correcta talla de su niño (a) le pedimos que venga a la biblioteca de la
escuela de Julio a Sweetwater el dia Miércoles 22 de Junio, o Jueves 21 de horas
9.30 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. Los maestros estarán presentes para ayudar con las tallas de
medidas correctas. El dia que Ud. viene para tomar las medidas del uniforme se
colecta los $ 60.00 dólares en forma de efectivo o money order.
