We have raised over $1 million toward the Living Our Mission campaign! Each day we move ever closer to our goal and I am deeply grateful to each and every one of you who have helped us raise this much so far. This whole process of raising funds for our parish has given me the opportunity to learn more about the history of our parish and how far we have come over the years. We have a rich history with strong ties to the Carmelites, the Poor Clares, the Nashville Dominicans, and the Diocese of Richmond. Our humble beginnings started as a small mission parish and school in a rural area. Today, as you know, we are one of the larger parishes in the Diocese situated right in the middle of a highly populated area. As I reflect on our history, I am filled with great gratitude to God for all the blessings He has given our parish family. After some thought and discussion with people in the parish, I decided that it would be appropriate for us to formally take some time to thank God for all that He has done for our entire parish. I am asking all of you to consider taking special time from June 15 through June 22 to offer prayers of gratitude to God for all that he has done for our parish. I’d like to compile all the prayers and offer them as a “spiritual bouquet” of gratitude during Mass next weekend. This week we will offer opportunities for us to come together as a parish family and join in activities which will include the rosary, adoration of Blessed Sacrament, special gratitude exercises and remembrances of those who have been so important to our parish. Please go to our website to learn more about our Week to Remember. We will also be sending parish-wide emails providing more information on this very special week in our parish. I hope you will join us in prayer this week and may God bless you. God bless you, Father John David Bulletin notices and advertising: All information must be sent to the parish office no later than 8AM on Mondays. Please use e-mail if at all possible and send to: [email protected]. If you would like to advertise on the back of the bulletin, please call J.S. Paluch at 1-800-524-0263.
