In this talk, it is presented an overview of crystal growth methods from conventional (classic) and nonconventional (using electric and magnetic fields) techniques for protein crystallization and crystal growth. In order to control the kinetics of the crystallization process, it will be also presented what physical and chemical parameters allow us to control the nucleation, and crystal growth of biological macromolecules. Finally, in the particular case of the use of electric and magnetic fields applied to protein crystallization for crystal quality enhancement, novel devices to grow protein crystals will be also presented. Finally the influence of these electric and magnetic fields on the 3D structure of proteins will be also shown. Acknowledgements: the author (AM) thanks to CONACYT Project No. 175924.
