Faith Formation Classes is now taking place in
the parish office. Registration fee is $40.00 for
the first child and $30.00 for each additional child
of the same family. Please bring a copy of the
child’s Baptismal Certificate and a copy of the
Birth Certificate.

Sacrament of Confirmation
The parish will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday, October 25th, at 10:30am in our
parish church, Saint John the Evangelist. There will be only one Mass in our parish on Sunday, October
25th, at 10:30am. There will be no 8:45am, 10:00am and 11:45am Masses on Sunday, October 25th. Please
pray for all those in our parish who are preparing to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Our Parish Thanksgiving Dinner
Sunday - November 15, 2015 - 12:30pm
Please join us at one of our parish Masses on this day to give thanks to God for all you have received. Our
parish dinner will be held in the hall at our parish church, Saint Rocco, on 27th Street beginning at 12:30pm.
The meal will be a complete catered Thanksgiving Dinner, sliced Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, yams,
vegetables, Pasta, Roast Beef, coffee, Pumpkin and Apple Pies, and refreshments. All for the price of $20.00
for each adult and teenager, children (12 years old and younger) are free. If you and your family would
like to join us, please come to our parish office at 250 - 21st Street, near our parish church, Saint John The
Evangelist, to purchase a ticket or tickets. Tickets are needed for the dinner. Tickets will not be sold at the

week. We will contact them to see if they are interested in coming closer to Christ in the sacraments of the
church.

Sharing the Gospel
God wants you to help others. He does not
want you to be a slave to others. If you are
helping your friend clean his room, and he
leaves watch television, it's ok to stop helping him. Your friend should come back and
clean part of his room, too. But, if your
friend is unable to clean his room, then it is
a great gift for you to clean it for him. God
rewards you for helping others. Do you ever catch yourself being bossy? That is a
mistake grown-ups make, too. It is no fun to
work or play with bossy people. They don't
honor God when they order people around.
In today's Gospel, Jesus told his friends to
be kind, not bossy. God wants us to help and
serve other people.

Generations Of Faith Campaign/La Campaña De Generaciones De Fe
We are in the home stretch of Saint John the Evangelist–Saint Rocco GENERATIONS OF FAITH Campaign. Our parish in-pew Commitment Weekends, October 10th–11th and October 17th–18th will undoubtedly have a significant impact on our efforts to successfully wrap up our campaign. Not knowing in advance who and how much was committed this weekend, we still wanted to say Thank You!
To those parishioners who made their pledge before these weekends, Thank You,
your commitments brought us to where we are.
To those parishioners who will make a sacrificial commitment these weekends, Thank You,
your commitments will help us get closer to our target.
To those parishioners who are praying about their potential commitment Thank You,
your generous sacrificial commitment will help us reach our target.
Working together as one, our parish can reach our goal, because the need is real, our faith is strong,
and our generosity is well proven. If you have received your pledge information, and are ready to
make your pledge, please give your card to me. For those of you who have not had the opportunity
to respond please consider making your pledge during our Commitment Weekend. We will be conducting our in-pew request for the Campaign and ask every parishioner to participate. Our commitments to date are a wonderful testament of the generosity and faithfulness of our parish family.
Please help strengthen our parish through a sacrificial pledge for our campaign. While all are asked to
think about an amount, please know that this campaign is truly about equal sacrifice, not equal gifts.
Please pray about your own personal level of sacrifice that you might offer this campaign, and plan to
make your gift during next weekend’s Commitment Weekend. Thank you for all you do to support
our parish, Fr. Grande.
