FROM THE THOMPSON FAMILY,
Your love through prayers reassures our daily blessings. We might
not always understand why things happen, but know there is a
bigger plan in place for Ava. Your continued support and friendship
of our family is a treasure beyond words that has helped us
through this most difficult time. The prayers continue to heal our
baby Ava. God Bless

ARTS AND CRAFTS
Thank you to the many individuals who helped make our sales
during the holiday season a huge success.
Thank you to those who came on Tuesdays to make things, to
those who donated items, to those who volunteered during the
sales and to all of our loyal customers.
Believe it or not, we are making Easter baskets now. First step is
to glue white paper on the ice cream cartons donated by Baskin
Robbins. We meet Tuesday afternoons from 1:00PM until
3:00PM. Come and join the fun!
VOCATION CROSS
We will again invite you to
accept the Vocation Cross during one of the weekend Masses
beginning in February. The Spirit is calling men and women and
preparing boys and girls from our day school and CCE program
to serve in the church. May our prayer for vocations inspire them
to listen attentively to the call of God’s Spirit and respond with
generous hearts. Let us know your willingness to take a
Vocation Cross home for one week and pray for vocations by
signing the sheet in the narthex or volunteering during the Mass if
no one has signed up. For more information call Sr.Charline at
713-858-1613.
COLLECTION FOR THE
CHURCH IN LATIN AMERICA
Next weekend, January 23-24, we will take up the Collection for the
Church in Latin America. A lack of priests and trained lay ministers,
high emigration rates, and the alarming pace at which parishioners are
leaving the faith make it difficult for the region’s Church to provide for
the faithful. It is more important than ever that we keep faith with the
Church in Latin America and the Caribbean. Please be generous.
Thank you.
Please remember in your prayers the repose of the soul of Gary Baroski who
passed away Pray that God grant peace and comfort to his loved ones.
SACRAMENT OF THE SICK in English will be held on Friday,
February 5, at the 8:00AM Mass.

CENACLE SILENT LENTEN RETREAT
Once again our parish ladies are invited to attend a retreat at the
Cenacle Retreat House, 420 N. Kirkwood, just off the Katy Freeway
on Friday, March 11, 2016, 7:00 p.m. through Sunday, March 13,
2016, 1:30 p.m. Relax under the tall, serene pine trees of the
Cenacle. Enjoy your own private room, home cooked meals with
desserts and even a massage, if you so wish. The days are
scheduled with conferences with our retreat master, Reverend Terry
Ryan, CSP, quiet time, private conferences with the Reverend or the
Cenacle staff, as well as free time.
The theme of the retreat is “Women I wish I had met”. During this
retreat, we will be hearing about Etty Hillesum, Dorothy Soelle and
Elizabeth Leseur. These 20th century women offer insights to
experience God that have their roots in the early Christian
mystics—prayer, interior struggle and growth plus reflection on and
response to one’s life circumstances. What do these women have to
say to us today in our relationship with God? Presentations, guided
meditations and handouts for individual prayer and reflection will
be used to facilitate this process.
Rev. Terry Ryan, CSP is a Paulist priest who travels throughout the
US offering workshops, missions, retreats and evening reflections
on the contemplative experience. The great mystics and the
spirituality of the 11th step of a 12-step recovery program all provide
the framework for Father Terry’s discussions of the contemplative
experience.www.fatherterryryan.com
Don’t miss a truly wonderful weekend. Transportation is arranged.
