Registration for 2016-2017 PSR (Parish School of Religion) and
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) has begun. We ask
that all First through Eighth graders of the parish who do not attend a
Catholic school participate in PSR. Adults who would like to receive
Baptism, First Communion, and/or Confirmation in the Church are
strongly encouraged to join the RCIA. Information on PSR and RCIA
will be available in the parish office, and registration forms should be
returned by the end of July.
A special collection for the Catholic Communication
Campaign (CCC) will be held this weekend. The CCC helps
spread the Good News to you – and focuses on new and existing
ways to communicate Jesus’ gospel message, making it available
to both the faithful and those seeking the faith. The CCC supports
both national and diocesan communication efforts that provide
news, discussions, and special events and programs. Please be
generous in the collection and support this important work.
La inscripciones de Catequesis PSR (Parish School of Religion)
y RICA (Rito de Iniciación Cristiana para Adultos) ya
comenzaron. Todos los niños de la parroquia desde primer hasta el

From the Pastor’s Desk
This weekend we celebrate Pentecost with minds open to the power
of the Holy Spirit. Let us not forget to speak and listen to the Holy
Spirit in our daily lives. Take time to invite the Spirit into your heart by
offering this prayer: “Come Holy Spirit! Guide and direct my life
according to your will. Help me to show your love and mercy to others
through acts of charity, generosity, and self-control.” Be sure to
remain silent in order to hear the Spirit’s reply. If we are attentive to
the Holy Spirit, we will bear spiritual fruit and grow deeper in our faith.
Speaking of the Holy Spirit, I want to congratulate all of our young
parishioners who have recently received First Communion, as well
those who will be receiving the sacrament of Confirmation with Bishop
Campbell this Wednesday. These sacraments are beautiful moments
in our relationship with God, and they unite us more closely with the
Church. I pray that the grace of Communion and Confirmation will
make us more eager for God’s life and love.

Este fin de semana celebramos Pentecostés con la mente abierta al
poder del Espíritu Santo. No olvidemos hablarle y escuchar al Espíritu
Santo en nuestra vida diaria. Tómense un tiempo para invitar al
Espíritu a su corazón con esta oración: “¡Ven Espíritu Santo!” Guía y
dirige mi vida de acuerdo a tu voluntad. Ayúdame a mostrar tu amor
y misericordia a los demás con actos de caridad, generosidad y
autocontrol. Asegúrense de guardar silencio para poder escuchar la
respuesta del Espíritu. Si estamos atentos al Espíritu Santo daremos
frutos espirituales y creceremos más profundamente en nuestra fe.

Hablando del Espíritu Santo, quiero felicitar a nuestros jóvenes
feligreses que recibieron la primera comunión, y también a los que
recibirán el sacramento de la Confirmación con el Obispo Campbell
este miércoles. Estos sacramentos son bellos momentos en nuestra
relación con Dios, y nos unen más estrechamente con la Iglesia. Que
la gracia de la comunión y Confirmación haga a los miembros de

CRS Response to Earthquake in Ecuador. On April 16, 2016, a
7.8-magnitude earthquake hit Ecuador. It is known to have killed more
than 400 people, hundreds more have been injured, and there has
been widespread damage. Catholic Relief Services is coordinating
with other humanitarian organizations to determine priorities. Water,
food and emergency shelter will be the biggest needs in the coming
days. Donations may be made directly to CRS on their website
http://www.crs.org/stories/emergency-response.

A Mass of Healing and Healing Service will be celebrated on
Monday, May 16, 6:30 p.m. at Saint Joseph Cathedral, 212 East
Broad Street, Columbus. Following the Mass, a Service of healing
will begin with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, Veneration of
relic of the True Cross of Christ, followed by an opportunity for each
person to talk to a priest and then ask what they seek healing for; the
Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick will also be available. The Service
of Healing will close with Benediction. All persons who seek Christ’s
healing are invited – especially those who suffer with cancer, heart
and other physical infirmities, in addition to those in need of emotional
and spiritual healing. All caregivers, family members, and members of
the medical community are invited as well. Future bi-monthly healing
Masses are scheduled to take place at the Cathedral on July 18,
