Wednesday, February 11th, is the Feat of Our Lady of Lourdes but the celebration is already well underway! I want to thank everyone who is working so hard at the Festival as well as the whole parish family for turning out and enjoying each other’s company. Remember we will close the Festival with the drawing of the raffle winners around 10 p.m. Sunday night. Tuesday evening we will have a special presentation in the parish hall by those who served last summer at the Sanctuaries of Lourdes. Our care for the sick pilgrims was a blessing not just for the pilgrims but for us as well. We are already looking forward to serving again. Come and find out why! I am convinced that Our Lady is joining us in a very Intimate way to this ministry at Lourdes and that service in the Sanctuaries will be something that our parish family will look forward to each and every year. Wednesday, the night of the feast, we will celebrate a multi-lingual Healing Mass with the Sacrament of the Sick. Mass will be followed by the Lourdes candlelight procession to the Grotto. Candles with wind protectors can be purchased in advance at the Holy Boutique. The Healing Mass is the highlight of our celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes. God has used Our Lady and her intercession at Lourdes to bring healing to His people – both physical and spiritual. She does that by bringing them to her son Jesus Christ. The Sacrament of the Sick is Jesus himself reaching out to touch and heal all who are gravely ill. Please invite all those you know who are gravely ill to join us for the Mass. If special assistance is needed just call the parish office in advance so that we can be prepared. Let us not forget as well those who are caring for the sick. Their generous gift of themselves is truly an embrace of the cross for the love of another. They too need our prayers and support and the Mass will offer them comfort and strength as they go forward in Christ. I am sure that you share with me gratefulness to God for bringing us together as a parish family with Our Lady of Lourdes as our patroness and guide. May God continue to shower His blessings upon us. Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us. St. Bernadette, pray for us. Msgr. Mons. You hide Your inconceivable majesty and lower Yourself to miserable me. O King of Glory, though You hide Your beauty, yet the eye of my soul rends the veil. I see the angelic choirs giving You honor without cease, and all the heavenly Powers praising You without cease, and without cease they say, ‘Holy, Holy, Holy.’” Who is, Who was, and Who is to come…He is the living one.” REV. 1:4,18 Want to be part of our Perpetual Adoration Ministry, as an adorer or hour captain? Open your hand to the poor and needy neighbor in your land (Deut. 15:11; Isa. 58:6-12). Jesus showed a preferential option for the poor. As the example of the saints has taught us, in loving and serving the poor, we too love and serve Jesus Himself. ABCD is our one opportunity during the year to reach out in support of all of the people of God beyond the boundary of our parish. Through the ABCD, we follow the example of Christ to serve our brothers and sisters here in the Archdiocese of Miami. Jesus Christ is the common thread that binds us all. We are one. We need you. You are making the good works of the local Church here in south Florida possible. Together, we are making a difference and impacting the lives of those in need. Please be as generous as possible in your response to the ABCD. Thank you for uniting with us to be One in Faith, One in Hope and One in Charity.
