PROLOGUE
La industria audiovisual argentina es una de las mayores usinas de contenidos en América
Latina. En la última década, las firmas del sector se han ubicado en un lugar destacado
dentro de los grandes exportadores a nivel mundial, con ventas de contenidos tanto en
América Latina como en Estados Unidos y la Unión Europea, así como en destinos menos
tradicionales como Rusia e India.
Durante 2009 la industria audiovisual argentina exportó unas cuarenta mil horas de programación televisiva al mercado externo. Alrededor de ochenta países han transmitido contenidos televisivos desarrollados en Argentina. Según un informe de la Asociación Inglesa
de Distribuidores de Televisión, el país ocupó ese año el cuarto lugar en el mundo entre los
países productores y exportadores de formatos, detrás del Reino Unido, Estados Unidos y
los Países Bajos.
El presente catálogo reúne información sobre una amplia gama de productoras, que van
desde aquellas con gran trayectoria internacional, como por ejemplo Telefé Internacional
o Eyeworks (4Cabezas), hasta firmas jóvenes que están dando sus primeros pasos en los
mercados internacionales, como en los casos de Mulata Films, Wayruro y otras. Muchas
de estas últimas crecieron gracias al fomento del Estado argentino en pos de promover la
existencia de una televisión cultural y educativa.
Las empresas consignadas en estas páginas incluyen productoras de ficción, documentales,
programas de entretenimiento, educativos, deportes, animación y otros rubros. Entre los
contenidos de estas productoras se encuentran éxitos de rating como “Graduados” y “La
dueña”, así como nominados y ganadores de premios Emmy Internacionales, tales como
“Mentira la verdad” y “TV x la inclusión”. La presentación del sector audiovisual argentino en
forma unificada permitirá fortalecer y beneficiar el posicionamiento de la industria nacional
en mercados externos.
La Cancillería argentina desarrolla sus acciones de promoción de exportaciones de bienes
audiovisuales bajo la marca país “Argentina Audiovisual”, en un esfuerzo conjunto con diversas iniciativas que han permitido dar impulso desde el Estado al sector (Ley de Cine, Ley de
Servicios de Comunicación Audiovisual, Televisión Digital Abierta, concursos del INCAA, entre
otros). Con el presente catálogo, que aspira a dar inicio a una larga serie, la Cancillería argentina ofrece una herramienta complementaria a sus iniciativas ya en marcha para la promoción y
difusión de la industria audiovisual de nuestro país en ferias y eventos internacionales.
The Argentine audiovisual industry is one of the largest content providers in Latin America. Over the past decade, our companies have earned a prominent position among the
world’s leading content exporters with sales in Latin America, the United States and the
European Union, as well as in less traditional markets like Russia and India.
About 80 countries have broadcasted television contents developed in Argentina. In
2009 alone, the domestic audiovisual industry exported 40,000 hours of television programming to markets abroad. According to a report by the British Television Distributors Association, that same year, Argentina ranked fourth in the world among countries
producing and exporting audiovisual formats, behind the United Kingdom, United States
and the Netherlands.
This catalog brings together information on a wide range of local audiovisual production
companies, ranging from those with extensive international experience such as Telefé
International or Eyeworks (4Cabezas) to young startups embarking on their first ventures
in international markets, including Mulata Films and Wayruro among others. Many of the
new players emerged thanks to the impulse generated by the Argentine government’s
incentives to promote the existence of a cultural and educational television.

Una camioneta recorre localidades del interior de Argentina con el objetivo de llevar adelante

Junto con un personaje de la vida real, como una suerte de guía, los conductores del ciclo se

saber no se puede adquirir de un modo activo, como en el estudio, sino que se adquiere
simplemente viviendo. Estando en el barrio, en la calle, en el día a día.
De esta manera se desarrolla el modo en que el ingenio popular genera pequeños episodios
artísticos pero efímeros.
A truck travels through different towns across Argentina with the aim of carrying out an
experience of conducting an original short film community made by its neighbors. In this
way, stories of remote sites are told by the neighbors, filmed by themselves and acted by a
renowned actor.
Along with a real life character, as a sort of guide, cycle hosts are introduced into the universe of the knowledge of the people. This knowledge can not be acquired in an active way, like
studying, but by simply living... in the neighborhood, on the streets, in everyday life.
The program depicts the way popular wit generates small, yet ephemeral, artistic episodes.

Argentina, 1933. Mexican artist David Alfaro Siqueiros paints a mural called “Ejercicio Plástico” in the basement of a mansion owned by Natalio Botana, an eccentric Argentine millionaire. Seventy years later, the journey of the painting is revealed, which awaits, fragmented
inside a container, its rescue from the inclemency of weather and time.
A child can imagine many things. But what can Juan imagine, being a boy who thinks his
whole reality is imagined and reinvented? What does a child imagine in the secrecy of a

It is a romantic comedy that tells the story of Juan, a man who believes he has everything
under control and who discovers his principles collapse in seconds. Within the context of
a small neighborhood, even Juan’s smallest decision will cause a disturbance in the life all
the characters.
“Graduates” tells the story of a group of former high school classmates who will meet again
twenty years after graduation, with a love story that will involve them once more and change
the course of their current lives.

la Argentina. Rescatamos luchas, temáticas sobre DDHH, historias de vida, cultura y tradiciones, pueblos originarios, el respeto por la naturaleza, la recuperación de la memoria
colectiva, género… porque creemos que desde la imagen se pueden ver, denunciar, contar
realidades que los medios masivos de comunicación no muestran.
Desde hace más de 18 años ininterrumpidos, hemos producido más de 90 documentales,
muchos de ellos premiados en festivales, muestras, concursos nacionales e internacionales.

We are WAYRURO COMUNICACIÓN POPULAR, a group of audiovisual production of Jujuy, the
northernmost state of Argentina. We capture life stories, struggles, stories of indigenous peoples,
artistic expressions and traditions, respect for nature, the recovery of collective memory, gender,
motivated by our strong belief of building more inclusive and fair societies.
For over 18 years of uninterrupted existence, we have produced more than 90 documentaries;
many of which have won awards in festivals, exhibitions, national and international competitions.

productores de Salta frente a los avances de la depredación forestal, al crecimiento de los
cultivos de soja y los emprendimientos turísticos a gran escala. Las alternativas son el cooperativismo, la autogestión, la organización asamblearia y comunitaria.

Un viaje. Revisitar los lugares de Jujuy por los que transitó el documentalista argentino
Jorge Prelorán cuatro décadas atrás. Encontrar a sus habitantes actuales, dar cuenta de
las condiciones de existencia de estos pueblos ancestrales que están casi vacíos. Narrar
sobre las vidas de quienes hoy viven a 4000 m. de altura pero en diálogo permanente con
el mundo contemporáneo.
Stories of the other field.
Each chapter anchors on a different topic: Earth, Water, Technology and Food Sovereignty,
and portrays the vision that small producers and farmers of Jujuy and Salta have against
the progress of deforestation, the growth of soy cultivation and large scale tourism ventures.
Alternatives are cooperativism, self-management, assembly and community organization.

A trip. To revisit some Jujuy’s towns which were transited four decades ago by the Argentinean
documentalist Jorge Prelorán. To find their current inhabitants, to account for the conditions of
existence of these ancestral villages that are almost empty. To tell the story about those communities who live at 4000 m. of altitude but are in permanent dialogue with the contemporary
world.

G. Y para encontrar las respuestas, ¿quién mejor que el Doctor G? Junto a sus sujetos experimentales, el Señor de Acá y el Señor de Allá, seguirán sorprendiéndonos con investigaciones
