MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University School of Medicine has been recognized as
one of the top ten schools of medicine in the country for rural medicine, and placed in the top 50 for
primary care. WVU made the top ten list in U.S. News & World Report’s 2011 edition of “America’s
Best Graduate Schools.”
The rankings are based on ratings by medical school deans and senior faculty in the nation’s 126
accredited medical schools and 20 accredited schools of osteopathic medicine.

decades to address the unique health
care needs of West Virginia,” WVU
School of Medicine Interim Dean James
Brick, M.D., said. “It’s gratifying that our
colleagues across the country recognize
our leadership in rural health and primary
care.”
School of Medicine students learn and
care for patients in rural areas of West
Virginia as part of the requirements for
graduation. They work in partnerships with rural communities and with other health care providers in
rural
clinics
across
the
state.
About 50 percent of WVU School of Medicine graduates choose to practice in primary care areas, such
as
family
medicine,
internal
medicine,
emergency
medicine,
and
pediatrics.
The number of physicians who practice in rural, underserved communities has increased by 200
percent
in
recent
years.
The WVU School of Nursing received high marks for its Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) program,
as
judged
by
nursing
deans
and
faculty
at
schools
across
the
country.
“We are very proud of our faculty, our programs, and especially, our students,” School of Nursing Dean
Georgia Narsavage, Ph.D., said. “An education from the WVU School of Nursing can take them
anywhere they want to go. Our graduates, whether they choose to stay in West Virginia, or work in

Internacionales los siguientes documentos antes de enero 20, 2011:
- Solicitud de admisión debidamente diligenciada y firmada. Esta la pueden bajar de la página web:

- Copia del registro civil
- Certificado del promedio académico de 10°, 11° y lo que lleva de 12° que demuestren un promedio
igual o superior al 80%.
- 5 fotografías tamaño carnet
- Copia del documento de identidad del estudiante
- Copia de la Cédula de Ciudadanía del padre responsable o del tutor
- Constancia de pago del examen de admisión $50 USD. (Esta transacción se debe realizar a la cuenta
corriente de Bancolombia #61140884457 a nombre de la Fundación Instituto de Monterrey a través
de una ficha de recaudo, anexando el número del documento de identidad y el nombre completo del
estudiante) Si el estudiante tiene un promedio igual o superior al 90% está exento del pago del

El programa está dirigido a jóvenes talentos colombianos entre los 14 y los 28 años de edad con talento
innato, que sobresalgan por sus dotes artísticas, en alguna disciplina del Arte para adelantar estudios de
formación en el área de su interés (No aplica para estudios de pregrado) REQUISITOS: - Residir en
Colombia de manera permanente - No haber iniciado sus estudios en el exterior - que presente su
postulación ante el ICETEX, indicando que conoce de la trayectoria y calidades artísticas del joven talento y
que al regreso del artista al país, velará porque éste se convierta en efecto multiplicador de su conocimiento
adquirido en el exterior - Tener admisión definitiva por parte del centro docente donde vaya a realizar el
programa de formación en el exterior. - Presentar: plan de estudios, carta de motivación y presupuesto total
desglosado de acuerdo con el plan de estudios. - Certificar conocimientos de idioma extranjero (según país
de realización de estudios y de acuerdo con los requisitos de la institución a la cual aplica) - Una
certificación de apoyo expedida por una institución o entidad municipal, departamental o nacional, donde se
indique que la propuesta de condonación ésta enfocada a desarrollar actividades pedagógicas sobre el
conocimiento adquirido en el exterior a comunidades vulnerables de su región, con una duración mínima de
ciento veinte horas y como resultado de esta actividad se debe hacer una presentación pública según el
área (concierto, exposición, conversatorio, obra entre otras).

El ICETEX, con el ánimo de estimular la formación de los Jóvenes Talentos colombianos, con equidad
regional ofrece créditos educativos condonables por prestación de servicios, para que adelanten estudios
de arte en el exterior. Al terminar el estudio para el cual le fue concedido el crédito condonable, el
beneficiario debe regresar al país para iniciar su proceso de condonación (tener en cuenta que la
condonación debe ser la que se presenta en el momento de aplicación, la cual es evaluada por los jurados),
convirtiéndose en efecto multiplicador del conocimiento adquirido en el área de su formación artística. La
condonación podrá realizarla en instituciones, entidades u organizaciones que le certifiquen la elaboración
de talleres, conferencias, seminarios o demás eventos pertinentes a su formación con una duración mínima
de ciento veinte horas.
El tiempo de duración del programa de estudios a realizar será mínimo seis meses y máximo 12 meses, los
cuales deben iniciar en el segundo semestre de 2011. (No se aceptaran solicitudes para estudios de
duración inferior o superior a lo establecido en esta convocatoria, así como para iniciar estudios en el 2012).
Los créditos podrán aplicarse para realizar estudios artísticos, encaminados a perfeccionar el perfil de cada
joven creador. Los estudios a realizar deben ser en instituciones extranjeras reconocidas. Este tipo de
créditos educativos serán otorgados en las siguientes disciplinas de las Artes. ARTES VISUALES Y
PLÁSTICAS: Dibujo, Pintura, Escultura, Fotografía, Instalación, Diseño para Medios Digitales, Artes
Gráficas, performance ARTES APLICADAS: Diseño de Interacción, Joyería y Trabajo en Metal, Orfebrería,
Cerámica, Cestería, Tejido, Telares, Bordados, Tapicería y Trabajo en fibras, Forja, Trabajo en Madera,
Vidrio Fundido y Vidrio Soplado, Vitrales, Trabajo en Cuero y Técnicas en Papel. ARTES ESCÉNICAS:
Danza, Teatro, Género Lírico, Narración Oral, Teatro Gestual, Títeres y Teatro Callejero y Dramaturgia,
Técnicas de Circo. MÚSICA: Interpretación de Instrumentos, Composición Musical y Canto.

La documentación solicitada por el ICETEX tiene el
propósito de cumplir con los requisitos exigidos por
el oferente.
Los aspirantes a becas no podrán presentarse a
más de un (1) programa simultáneamente. en
caso de ser preseleccionado deberá esperar la
decisión final por parte del oferente para volver a
participar en una nueva convocatoria.
Los candidatos SELECCIONADOS deben realizar el
proceso de crédito condonable, para lo cual se
requiere de un deudor solidario, quien será
estudiado por CIFIN.
Los candidatos a quienes se les haya concedido
una beca a través del icetex, presencial ó virtual,
cuya duración haya sido igual o superior a 3
meses, deberán esperar dos años, contados a
partir de la fecha de finalización del programa,
para solicitar de nuevo una beca internacional.
Los documentos completos, requeridos en esta
convocatoria, deben entregarse legajados al lado
izquierdo, foliados, SIN CARPETA y en el orden

Su solicitud no será tenida en cuenta si usted no
presenta los documentos físicos como soporte de
su aplicación, a más tardar en la fecha límite de
recepción señalada en esta convocatoria..
Toda la información suministrada por los
candidatos deberá ser veraz y estará sujeta a
verificación de acuerdo con lo estipulado en el
Artículo No. 83 de la Constitución Nacional y en los
Artículos 286 a 296 del Código Penal Colombiano
relacionados con la Falsedad en Documentos;
cumplir estrictamente con los requisitos exigidos
para este programa y deberán enviar o entregar la
documentación física soporte de su aplicación, en
la fecha límite relacionada en esta convocatoria
Todos los candidatos deberán aplicar por la página
web, de lo contrario no serán tenidos en cuenta
por la comisión nacional de becas. Se informa que
es potestativo del oferente otorgar o no la beca

OBSERVACIONES
Escribir en el formulario el área de aplicación. Esta constancia se
generará automáticamente al finalizar exitosamente su aplicación
en línea, la cual debe imprimirlo y entregar con los demás
documentos.
La carta de admisión definitiva al programa solicitado
deberá estar expedida por la Institución que avale
dicha aceptación y deberá contener un resumen de
las condiciones de duración e intensidad horaria del
programa, las mismas condiciones aplicarán para el
plan de estudios avalado por el tutor.
La carta de respaldo institucional debe ser emitida por una
institución o entidad cultural, municipal, departamental o estatal
(Batutas, cuerpos colegiados u otros establecimientos
reconocidos por su compromiso con la cultura) mediante la cual
se avale su propuesta de condonación, teniendo en cuenta que
los aplicantes seleccionados deberán desarrollar la condonación
que presentaron al momento de aplicar a la convocatoria. Es
importante tener claro que al finalizar los estudios para los
cuales el ICETEX le concedió el crédito condonable, el
beneficiario debe regresar al país y en un plazo máximo de un
mes, iniciar su condonación, ya que el incumplimiento de esta
obligación conllevaría a que el crédito condonable otorgado sea
trasladado al cobro.
El presupuesto total solicitado deberá contemplar los pagos de:
plan de estudios a realizar, pasajes, manutención y matrícula. En
el evento, en el que los $20.000.000, otorgados por el ICETEX
no sean suficientes para cubrir la totalidad de los costos
anteriormente señalados, el seleccionado debe garantizar que
cuenta con recursos propios para sufragar el dinero faltante.
La propuesta de CONDONACIÓN es la forma en que el aspirante in
reembolsará el crédito y su aporte como efecto multiplicador del c
adquirido en el exterior a su regreso al país. En la propuesta de co
