It’s yearbook cover art contest time again!!
Deadline for yearbook cover art submissions: Wednesday, January 14, 2015.

Turn in your completed cover artwork in the Yearbook Cover Contest Bin in the Art
Room (Room 10) or in the Front Office by the end of the school day on January 14.
The Yearbook cover art will NOT be a part of the art program this year, so students will need to
work on their student-designed artwork at home. Artwork should be done independently by each
student – PLEASE no parent involvement.
Theme: Proud to be at PEC
The 2014-2015 PEC Yearbook theme is "Proud to be at PEC". The cover artwork should show each
student’s idea of what makes PEC great & what they are proud of at our school.
Let’s see some PEC school spirit in our yearbook designs!
Each year the Paul Ecke Central Yearbook front & back covers are selected from PEC student cover
art submissions. Get your yearbook cover submission in by the deadline to have your cover art
considered for the 2014-2015 Yearbook*. Each cover contest winner receives a free yearbook.
Guidelines for yearbook cover art:

Art work must be done on 8 ½” x 11” paper.

Art work must be positioned vertically on the paper (“portrait”).

On the back of the artwork include:

Student name (first & last), grade, and classroom teacher

School name & school year PEC 2014-2015 must be included in the artwork.

The theme title Proud to be at PEC must be included in the artwork.

Kindergarten only – kindergarteners may use a template with the required theme title,
school name & school year.

Art work should be done independently by each student – no parent involvement.
Suggestions for yearbook art:

Use very visible colors and fill in your work completely. Colored pens and colored pencils
work great, and crayons can be used too. Just make sure that your art work is dark enough
so that it will scan well, or it can’t be considered for the cover.
*Previous Yearbook cover contest winners are not eligible to win, but previous winners may submit
cover art to be considered for display in the yearbook pages.
Concurso De Arte Para Hacer La Portada Del Libro Anuario PEC
2014-2015
“Orgulloso de estar en PEC”
¡Nuevamente es la época del concurso de arte para la portada del Libro Anuario!
La fecha límite para enviar los trabajos de arte para la portada del libro anuario es el Miércoles 14
de Enero del 2015.

Trae tu trabajo de arte para la portada del libro anuario terminado, y ponlo en la caja
etiquetada que estará en el Salón de Arte (salón #10) o entrégalo en la Oficina de la
escuela, a más tardar el día 14 de Enero del 2015 al terminar la hora de clases.
La portada de arte para el Libro Anuario NO será parte del programa de arte de éste año, así que los
estudiantes tendrán que hacer su trabajo elegido en su casa. El trabajo de arte debe ser hecho de manera
independiente por cada estudiante. Por favor no ayude a sus niños a hacer su proyecto.
El tema es: Orgulloso de estar en PEC.
El tema para la portada del Libro Anuario 2014-2015 es “Orgulloso de estar en PEC”. La portada de arte
deberá mostrar la idea personal del estudiante de qué es lo que hace grandioso a PEC y el porqué está
orgulloso(a) de nuestra escuela. ¡Veamos algo del espíritu de PEC en sus diseños para el libro anuario!
Cada año la portada y la contraportada del libro anuario de Paul Ecke Central son seleccionadas de los trabajos de arte
elaborado por los estudiantes. Entreguen sus trabajos para la portada a más tardar en la fecha límite para que su trabajo
sea considerado para el Libro Anuario 2014-2015*. Cada ganador del concurso recibirá un libro anuario gratis.
Reglas para el trabajo de arte de la portada del libro anuario:

El trabajo de arte debe ser hecho en un papel de 8 ½ x 11 pulgadas.

El trabajo de arte debe ser hecho de manera vertical en el papel (“portrait”).

En la parte de atrás del trabajo incluye la siguiente información:
Nombre y apellido(s) del estudiante, grado, nombre del maestro o maestra del salón.

En tú trabajo de arte debes incluir el Nombre de la escuela junto con el año escolar: PEC 2014-2015

El tema Proud to be at PEC (Orgulloso de estar en PEC) debe estar incluido en el trabajo de arte.

Unicamente los estudiantes de Kindergarten podrán usar un molde para escribir el tema, el
nombre de la escuela, y el año escolar.

El trabajo de arte debe ser hecho individualmente por cada estudiante –los padres no deben ayudar-
Sugerencias para los trabajos de arte del libro anuario:

Usa colores muy visibles, y colorea tú trabajo completamente. Los lápices de colores, y plumas de
colores funcionan muy bien, también se pueden usar crayones. Asegúrate que los colores estén muy
bien marcados u obscuros para que se pueda escanear bien, de no ser así no podemos considerar tú
trabajo para la portada.
*Los trabajos de los estudiantes que ya hayan ganado el concurso en años anteriores no pueden ser
considerados para ser ganadores nuevamente, pero aún así sus trabajos sí son considerados para aparecer
en las páginas del libro anuario.

maybe a few MORE FUN surprises…
