THIRSTING FOR UNITY
In today’s Gospel, Jesus is thirsty and goes to the well for a drink of water. He meets a Samaritan woman, who expects
him to treat her like dirt. But surprise! He talks to her like a fellow human being, treats her with respect and interest.
And what happens? Why, pretty soon the whole town turns out to hear him. Centuries earlier, the Israelites, wandering
in the desert, were thirsty. They had no water. All they had was an attitude problem. They growled at Moses, “Why did
you ever make us leave Egypt?” But surprise! God gave them water from the rock. No questions asked. All the peoples
of Earth are travelers on this planet together, all thirsting, all harboring our own fearful expectations of each other. But
God, as a loving parent, treats us all with generous care and compassion. We are one family. We could surprise each
other. We could remember we are one. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.
No tenían agua.
mutua. Podríamos recordar que somos uno. Copyright © J. S. Paluch Co.

PRAYER FOR GENEROSITY by ST. IGNATIUS

wounds, To toil and not to seek for rest, To labor and not to seek4reward, Save that of knowing that I do your will. AMEN

Flowers During Lent
As we enter the season of Lent, we ask that you do
not bring flowers into the church. If you wish you
could leave them out side at the base of the Saint
Statues located on the west side of the church
building.
Have you noticed the “Sign of Hope” outside our
parish? Through this sign we wish to convey to
pregnant mothers in crisis that in the conception
of each and every child, the members of this
parish see a brand new gift of God's perfect love.
No pregnant mother of any age should feel alone
or afraid because of the unexpected blessing of a child. Volunteers from
parishes throughout our diocese are ready to stand beside any mother who
needs help and to personally care for her throughout her pregnancy and
beyond.

Most Holy Trinity Preschool
Thank you to all of the wonderful parishioners who have
supported our preschool since opening in August of 2012. We
are about halfway through our second year and we could not
be more proud of what these young children are now able to
accomplish.
We are now working on our plan to expand the preschool from
a maximum of 14 students at any time to 28 students at any
time. We are starting the project in February to update the
outside of the preschool to meet all of the necessary conditions
given by the city.
Dear Parishioners of Most Holy Trinity Parish,
May the Lord be with you on this Third Sunday in the season of Lent.
We at Most Holy Trinity School are truly enjoying coming together as
a community in Christ during this time, and we hope you and your
families feel the same.
The rest of the project is going to be worked on over the
summer. We are working on raising $85,000 over the next few
months so that we can complete the project. We are hoping
that parishioners will be able to come out to our fund raising
events, such as the first bingo of every month, to help support
the preschool project.
We have continued partaking in the tradition of the Stations of the
Cross on Fridays in our Lenten families. It has been truly special for
all our students from pre-kindergarten to eighth grade to meet in the
church and walk through the suffering of Christ together.
We are beginning the enrollment process for the 2014-2015
school year. If you are interested in Most Holy Trinity
Preschool please feel free to contact Jessica Roberts at (408)
929-2287.
We also participate in an act of service with our Lenten families each
week. Most recently, the students crafted beautiful bookmarks to send
to inmates in prison.
The second graders at Most Holy Trinity School had an incredibly
special experience this week. On Tuesday afternoon, they met with
the parish priests and celebrated the sacrament of Reconciliation for
the first time.
Thank you for your continual support!

Second grade teacher Miss Jordan Micek has spent the past six weeks
preparing the students for the sacrament by teaching them to recognize
what sins are and how to ask for God's forgiveness for those sins and
assistance in avoiding future sins. The students have also worked hard
to memorize and understand the Act of Contrition they recited.
We at the school have also been preparing for our annual Casino Night
fundraiser. We have lined up several exciting auction items, including
a sailing adventure on the San Francisco Bay, tickets to San Francisco
Giants and Oakland A's games, and condo rentals in Kauai, Lake
Tahoe and Palm Desert. All are welcome to join us for a night of food,
drink, and games in support of our wonderful school!
