According to the AKAMAI report, "State of the Internet 2013". Ecuador was the country in all of the Americas that had most increased its average Internet speed. Thanks to this improvement, Chile and Ecuador are now the countries with the highest average internet speed in South America, with 2.9 megabytes per second. MAIN INCENTIVES A reductionon income tax of between 22% and 25% from 2013 Exemption from Overseas Tax Remittance Companies who reinvest their profits in the country may obtain a reduction of 10 percentage points in the rate of income tax applied. INCENTIVES APPLICABLE TO PRIORITY SECTORS SUCH AS TOURISM Companies established (outside of Quito and Guayaquil) are exempt from paying income tax for 5 years, starting from the time positive revenues are generated.
