CHILE
Chile es un país largo y angosto que se extiende entre la
Cordillera de Los Andes y el Océano Pacífico, al suroeste de
América del Sur. Su superficie corresponde a una franja de
4.200 km de longitud por 90 km en su parte más angosta y
440 km en su parte más ancha, recortada por cientos de islas
y fiordos en su parte más austral.
Limita al norte con Perú, al este con Bolivia y Argentina, al
oeste con el Océano Pacífico y al sur con el Polo Sur.
Chile is a long, narrow country that extends from the Andes
Mountains to the Pacific Ocean on the southwest side of
South America. Chile surface corresponds to a strip of land
4,200 km long and 90 to 440 km wide. In the far south, the
land is transected by hundreds of islands and fiords.
It limits the north with Peru, to the East with Bolivia and
Argentina, to the west by the Pacific Ocean and on the
south by the South Pole.

BOLIVIA
· El Norte, en donde se encuentra el Desierto de Atacama, el
más árido del Mundo.
Esta zona se destaca por sus culturas originarias en donde
puedes encontrar parte de su historia en museos y sitios
arqueológicos. Además encontrarás lugares impresionantes,
como salares, geiseres y termas.
OCÉANO
PACÍFICO
· Santiago es su capital y la puerta de entrada a Chile, además
de ser una de las urbes más modernas del continente. Le sigue
Valparaíso, Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO,
debido a su arquitectura peculiar y a su cultura. Finalmente
nos encontramos con los Valles Centrales, destacando de
éste la viticultura de la zona.
· Las Islas Oceánicas, como la tan conocida Rapa Nui, y una que
sin duda hay que conocer, Robinson Crusoe, caracterizadas
por su diversidad marina, especies endémicas y tradiciones
locales.
· Hacia el sur nos encontramos con la zona de lagos y volcanes,
bosques, paisajes exuberantes y de fuentes termales.

· Y por último, en el extremo austral, encontraremos la
Patagonia, donde se encuentran las Torres del Paine (la
octava maravilla del mundo), y asombrosos glaciares. Más al
sur se alza el territorio antártico chileno, tan mágico que hay

Chile is divided into five geographical areas:
-The North, where the Atacama Desert is located, the driest
in the world.
This area is known for its native cultures where you can find
part of their history in museums and archaeological sites.
Also you find amazing places such as the Salares, geysers
and hot springs.
-Santiago, is the country’s capital, and the gateway to Chile,
besides being One of the most modern capital cities on
the continent. Followed by Valparaiso, a World Heritage
Site by UNESCO because of its unique architecture and
culture. Finally, we found the Central Valley, highlighted by
the viticulture in the area.
- Oceanic islands , such as the well-known , Rapa Nui
and one that certainly must know , Robinson Crusoe ,
characterized by marine biodiversity, endemic species and
local traditions.
-To the south we find with Lakes and Volcanoes area, place
of exuberant forests, landscape and hot spring can relax
while traveling.
-And finally, in the far south, we find Patagonia and Antarctic
territory, a place where you will be amazed with the eighth
wonder of the world, Torres del Paine, and also with the
wonderful natural constructions called glaciers.

Chile International airport is Nuevo Pudahuel (Ex Comodoro
Arturo Merino Benítez), located in Santiago, which offers
international connections to North and South America,
Europe and Oceania. It has a complete infrastructure of
shops and restaurants, a Duty Free store and VIP lounges. It
is easy to find a hotel nearby.

Para ingresar a Chile, es necesario presentar la

del inicio del viaje.

La Red de Metro junto con los buses Transantiago, son los
sistemas de Transporte Público de Santiago.

Metro Line with the Transantiago buses are the public
transport systems of Santiago.
El Metro de Santiago es el tren metropolitano cuya red
de 5 líneas, cubre gran parte de la ciudad. Es un servicio
rápido, limpio y seguro. La mayoría de las estaciones
conecta con paradas de buses del Transantiago. Dichos
buses cubren las 32 comunas que forman parte de
Santiago.
Santiago Metro is the subway whose network of 5 lines, it
covers much of the city. It is a fast, clean and safe service.
Most of the stations connected to the Transantiago bus
stops. These buses cover the 32 municipalities that are part
of Santiago.
Para utilizar el transporte público, ya sea buses o metro,
se debe comprar una Tarjeta Bip en cualquier Estación de
Metro.
To use public transport either buses or subway, you must
buy a Bip Card at any Metro Station.

approximately 700 pesos. Suggested tip in our country in

En el extremo norte de Chile, compartido con nuestros
países vecinos, Argentina, Bolivia y Perú se encuentra el
grandioso Altiplano Andino, rodeado de altas cumbres y
una cultura ancestral. En esta extensa región existe una
variedad increíble de paisajes, reuniendo salares, lagos,
volcanes, geiseres y antiguos pueblos que dan un entorno
mágico y cautivante. Destacan el Parque Nacional Lauca,
el pueblo de Parinacota y Putre, el volcán Parinacota , el

En los Géiseres de El Tatio, uno de los campos geotérmicos
más altos del mundo, la energía geotermal es visible al
hombre. Al alba, fumarolas de vapor, cráteres de barro
candente y géiseres se proyectan contra el aire frío y
cristalino del altiplano. La actividad comienza a las 5:30
A.M. y termina entre las 7 A.M. y las 8:30 A.M., cuando el
sol ya ha salido completamente.
In El Tati o Geysers, one of the highest geothermal fields of
the world, the geothermal energy is visible to man. At dawn,
steam fumaroles, scalding mud craters, and geysers arise
against the cold and crystalline air of the high plateau. The
activity begins at 5: 30 A M. Concluding between 7A.M.
and 8:30 A.M, when the sun has completely risen.
· Salar de Atacama | Atacama Salt Flat
El Salar de Atacama es el más grande de Chile, con una
superficie que supera los 3.000 Km. En algunos lugares su
costra de sal se ha fragmentado, aflorando lagunas que
son hábitat de flamencos y taguas. En la zona central del
Salar, se encuentra la más importante: la laguna Chaxa, la
que forma parte de la Reserva Nacional Los Flamencos.
Hacia el noroeste del salar se levanta la Cordillera de la
Sal, y en su extremo norte, el Valle de la Luna, lugar que
debe su nombre a un paisaje en extremo sugerente y que
asombra con la luces del atardecer.

The Atacama Salt Flat is the largest of Chile, with a surface
exceeding 3,000 km. In some areas, the salt crust has been
fragmented with gushing lagoons which are now habitats of
flamingoes and Taguas. Nestled in the central area of the salt
flat is the most important: the Chaxa lagoon, which belongs
to Los Flamencos National Reserve. To the northeast of the
salt flat emerges the Cordillera de la Sal, and on the northern
edge, the Valle de la Luna. This place owes its name for a
remarkable landscape, which amazes at dusk.
Las salitreras del norte de Chile fueron los mayores
productores de nitrato natural en el mundo, durante el
siglo XIX. En torno a ellas se desarrollaron comunidades
urbanas en el desierto, de las cuales hoy sólo sobreviven
ruinas y pueblos fantasmas, como mudos testimonios
de lo que fue época de auge del salitre. Estas han sido
declaradas Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por
UNESCO.
The saltpeter works in northern Chile were the major
natural nitrate producers in the world, during the 19th
century. Urban communities were developed in the desert
and only their ruins and ghost towns survive as silent
witnesses of the days of glory of the nitrate era. These have
been declared World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.
· Valle del Elqui | Elqui Valley
Entre Atacama y los Valles del centro de Chile, se encuentra
el Valle del Elqui. Lugar en donde se puede encontrar
las plantaciones y máxima producción de uno de los
brebajes Chilenos más preciados, el PISCO. Dueños de
los cielos más claros del mundo, esta zona se considera
como el primer y más importante centro astronómico del
Hemisferio Sur, sus cielos son sólo comparables a los de
Hawai, en Estados Unidos. Además, en estos suelos se
puede sentir la historia, el misticismo y la poesía, misma
que llevó a una hija de esta tierra a obtener el Premio
Nobel de Literatura, Gabriela Mistral. En Montegrande se
puede visitar su mausoleo y la casa escuela donde vivió.
Between Atacama and the Central Valleys of Chile, you
will find the Elqui Valley. Place where you will find the
plantations and factories of the one of Chile’s most
emblematic export: PISCO. These spectacular valleys are
also considered to have the clearest skies in the world, and
as such are considered as the most important astronomic
center in the Southern Hemisphere and its skies are only
comparable to those of Hawaii. More than just astronomy
and Pisco, these lands are full of history, mysticism and
poems, which led Gabriela Mistral to receive the Nobel
Prize for literature. In Montegrande, one can visit here
mausoleum and the house where she lived.
· San Pedro de Atacama | San Pedro de Atacama
San Pedro de Atacama es un pequeño poblado ubicado
en uno de los oasis que se encuentran en el altiplano, en
el norte del país. Se estima que hace unos 11.000 años
atrás se asentaron los primeros pueblos en esta zona. Los
atacameños fueron el pueblo originario, los Incas llegaron
alrededor del año 1450 y los españoles en 1536. San Pedro
de Atacama es considerada hoy la capital arqueológica
de Chile, y en sus alrededores se encuentran importantes
sitios arqueológicos, fortalezas y vestigios de su historia
precolombina.
San Pedro de Atacama is a small village located in one of
the oasis, of the northern high plateau. It is estimated that
the first inhabitants settled in this region around 11,000
years ago. The Atacameños were the original people, the
Incas arrived around the year 1450, and the Spaniards in
1536. At present, San Pedro de Atacama is considered
the archaeological capital of Chile with I important
archaeological sites, strongholds and evidences of its preColumbian history in the surroundings.
· La Serena | La Serena
La Serena es la ciudad más antigua después de Santiago,
construida en un estilo colonial, principalmente españoles,
posee exuberantes jardines, amplias avenidas, un museo
y el mercado es un lugar extraordinario. Sus playas son
estupendas. Peñuelas, El Faro, Mansa y Cuatro Esquinas
son algunas de las que puedes visitar y que también son
centro de deportes acuáticos y náuticos. De noche, la
Avenida del Mar se transforma en el epicentro de la vida
social que se completa con la oferta de pubs, restaurantes,
bares y discotecas que se reparten por la ciudad.
La Serena is the oldest city after Santiago, built in a mainly
Spanish colonial style, it possesses lush gardens, broad
avenues and a remarkable museum and market place. The
beaches of La Serena are truly stupendous, with Peñuelas,
El Faro, Mansa and Cuatro Esquinas offering excellent water
sports. At night, Avenida del Mar becomes an epicenter of
social interaction, with a variety of pubs, restaurants, bars
and night clubs.

paisajes asombrosos, aldeas diminutas o simplemente

singularidad como los Geiser del Tatio, Valle de la luna, entre
otros.
Conocerás las Aldeas de Tulor, sitio arqueológico sepultado
por las arenas del desierto más árido del mundo, la cual fue
uno de los primeros asentamientos de la cultura atacameña.
El valle de la luna te ofrece un bello atardecer lleno de sombras
y colores. Sin duda un espectáculo que no te puedes perder.

Each year more and more people are coming to San Pedro,
eager to discover the dark eyes of the Atacama, amazing
landscapes and tiny villages or simply enjoy the perfect
silence.
There are places that you marvel at its beauty and
uniqueness as the Geysers of Tatio, Moon Valley, among
others.
We will know the villages of Tulor archaeological site buried
by the sands of the world’s driest desert, which was one of
the first settlements of the Atacama culture.
The moon valley offer a beautiful evening full of shadows
and colors definitely a show not to be missed.

Día 1: Calama – San Pedro de Atacama –
Valle de la Muerte y de la Luna
Day 1: Calama – San Pedro de Atacama –
Valle de la Muerte and de la Luna
Traslado a San Pedro de Atacama, ubicado a 97 km, a una
altitud de 2.438 m. En la ruta se podrá apreciar hermosos
paisajes, cruzamos el llano de la paciencia y más adelante
trepamos la Cordillera de la Sal que nos ofrece un
asombroso espectáculo de cerros con inusitadas formas.
Detención para observar una hermosa vista panorámica
del Salar de Atacama. Llegada a San Pedro de Atacama.
Transfer to San Pedro, located at 97 km and about 2.438
meters above the sea level. On the route we will see
wonderful landscapes, cross “Llano de la paciencia”
(Patience flat). Farther we will cross the “Cordillera de la Sal”,
where we will have an amazing view of a salty cordillera
created by the folding of the upper strata of the earth’s
crust. Next, we will have a short stop to take pictures of the
spectacular Atacama Salt flat. Arrival in San Pedro.
16:00 horas, salida hacia el valle de la Muerte y de la
Luna, ambos valles son parte de la reserva nacional los
flamencos, situados dentro de la cordillera de la sal, a
pocos kilómetros de San Pedro de Atacama. Primero
Ingresamos por una angosta garganta o camino con altos
cerros, tipo cañón, a pocos metros nos encontramos con
el Valle de la Muerte, lugar con hermosas formas y colores
donde podremos caminar por las dunas entre los cerros
y cortes de montañas producidas por la erosión del agua
y viento. Luego visita al Valle de la Luna, Lugar declarado
santuario de la naturaleza, está formado por una depresión
con suelos salinos y rodeados de pequeños cerros con
hermosas formas y colores donde podremos caminar
y observar un espectáculo geológico con esculturales
formas, parecidas a las de la superficie lunar. Visita a las

Valley, both part of the National Reserve Los Flamencos
and located only a few kilometers from San Pedro. First,
we visit The Death Valley, also known as Mars Valley, where
we can experience one of the most desolated and arid
landscapes on earth, hence the name Death Valley. Short
walk of 40 to 45 minutes, to appreciate this landscape.
Then we continue to the Moon Valley, a place with beautiful
shapes and colors, where we can walk and enjoy a great
geological spectacle that has been repeatedly compared
with the surface of the moon, with its angular geology and
rocks sculpted by millenniums of erosion. Visit the salt
statues Las Tres Marias”. At the site you can admire the
sunset in all its splendor.

Día 2: P. de Quitor – Aldea de Tulor - Salar de Atacama –
Toconao
09:00 horas, visita Al Pukara de Quitor que data del siglo
XII, importante fortaleza defensiva de la cultura Atacameña,
ubicado a 3 Km. De San Pedro de Atacama, con una
superficie de 2,5 hectáreas y una ubicación estratégica,
esta defendido por un barranco infranqueable sobre el
río, una quebradilla y un muro en la parte más accesible
que da al valle. Es una impresionante construcción que
trepa un empinado Cerro, en sus viviendas y muros
utilizaron piedras, unidas con argamasa de tierra. Salida
hacia los Ayllus (Sistema social de subsistencia y trabajo
comunitario). Cruzando uno de los Ayllus más alejados
llegamos a la Aldea Arqueológica de Tulor, con una
antigüedad aprox. de 3000 años, milagrosamente
conservada al ser sepultada por la arena, conformada
por habitaciones circulares comunicadas entre sí y con
patio en común. Es una visita emocionante. Regreso a San
Pedro.
15:30 horas, salida hacia el Salar de Atacama. En la ruta
vista al Poblado de Toconao donde destaca sus casas
construidas en piedra volcánica (Liparita), visita a la
cantera y el Valle de Jerez. Luego nos internamos en el
Salar de Atacama, superficie salina con más de 400 Km.

Day 2: P. de Quitor – Aldea de Tulor - Salar de Atacama –
Toconao
09:00 AM, visit to Pukara de Quitor, dating from XII Century
(pre-Inca) fortress. Quitor is strategically located and was
easily defended on all sides, until the Spanish arrival
with the advantage of horses.. Crossing the “Ayllos” or
community farm areas, we arrive at Tulor, the site of the
earliest known settlement in the area known as the “Aldea
de Tulor”. This settlement is more than 3,000 years old and
consists of circular dwellings interconnected by common
passages and patios. Only part of the settlement is visible,
the rest has being covered by the constantly moving desert
sands.
15:30 hours, departing from San Pedro, on the route we will
see the impressive Licancabur volcano. At 38km we arrive
at the interesting little Toconao village, well known for its
construction in Liparita, a volcanic stone quarried nearby.
Close to the quarry is the Jerez valley, a stunning, green
contrast to the surrounding desert landscape. We continue
our travel, heading into the center of the Salar de Atacama,
the largest salt lake in Chile, located at the National reserve
Los Flamencos about 2.305 meters above sea level,
arriving at the Chaxsa Lagoon, we have the opportunity to
observe the wide variety of birds that inhabit the lagoon,
especially pink flamingos. Return to Hotel.

Día 3: Full day Excursión Geysers del Tatio – Machuca –
Salida a la 04:30 horas desde el hotel, para tomar camino
ripiado, por el cual comenzamos ascender hacia los Geiser
del Tatio ubicado a una distancia de 97 Km de San Pedro
y a una altitud de 4.300 mts. Toda la ruta la realizamos de
noche, llegamos a este espectacular sector de nuestro
altiplano aproximadamente a las 06:45, normalmente
la temperatura a esta hora es bajo cero. Desayuno y
caminata dirigida por el campo geotérmico. Haremos una
observación de las impresionantes columnas de vapor
(Geiser), fumarolas, cientos de pozas de agua hirviendo y
altas cumbres, es una espectacular visión de la naturaleza
al amanecer. Luego nos trasladamos al sector de las
piscinas termales con agua de aproximadamente 40
C ° en donde los pasajeros podrán tomar un reparador
baño. A continuación iniciaremos el retorno a San Pedro,
a través del impresionante paisaje de la cordillera de los
andes. En la ruta tomamos desvío para visitar al poblado
de Machuca, morada de pastores que todavía conservan
sus costumbres ancestrales, donde los pasajeros pueden
degustar por su cuenta: Empanadas de queso, Sopaipillas,
Te, Café o Mate de Coca. Luego traslado a San Pedro de
Atacama. Llegada aproximadamente 13:00 horas.

Day 3: Full day Excursion Geysers del Tatio – Machuca –
Departing at 04:30 AM, from the hotel to Geysers del Tatio
located at 98kms from San Pedro and about 4.300 meters
above sea level, we arrive at the geysers around 7:00 AM.
Enjoy a picnic style breakfast and a guided stroll through
this geothermal field to see the geysers and pools of boiling
water and mud. The area takes on an almost surreal look at
sunrise. Once the sun has risen and the thermal activity is
calmed somewhat, we move to the area of the hot springs
for a rejuvenating soak in 40°C water before beginning the
return trip towards San Pedro. On the route, stop at Putana
for a short trekking and bird watching. Continuation to take
the detour to Machuca, herders village where we can have
the opportunity to taste some of their ancestral customs:
cheese empanadas, sopaipillas, tea, coffee or coca leaves
tea. Transfer to san Pedro. Arrival at 13:00 PM.

Ésta es una ruta especialmente pensada para preparar la aclimatación
necesaria para ascender volcanes de gran altura. Su nombre “llaretas”
proviene de la planta que crece pegada a las rocas en este sector, utilizada
como combustible entre los pastores de la zona para hacer fuego. El camino
se inicia rodeando el cerro Cenizal, al este de los Geysers del Tatio, a cuatro
mil metros de altura, para luego descender por entre medio de rocas, en un
sendero, apenas marcado por las huellas de animales. Eso, hasta llegar a la
parte más baja de la quebrada, desde donde se inicia el ascenso hasta un
portezuelo.
Luego de adentrarnos en el Altiplano nos encontramos de frente con el
Salar de Capur, el cual significa Zorro en Kunza, para luego caminar por su
orilla apreciando uno de los lugares poco frecuentado por los turistas, ya
que no se conoce mucho de su existencia. Comenzando en un amigable
descenso, caminamos hacia un costado del salar conociendo en profundidad
su nacimiento y formación, transitando por zonas de antiguos cazadores. A
medio camino, comenzamos el ascenso para llegar al portezuelo donde nos
detenemos para almorzar y luego seguir con la linda vista del Salar de Talar.
Afterward to get into the Plateau we are going to face ourselves with the Salt flat

appreciating one of the places rarely visited by tourists because not much is
known of its existence. Starting in a friendly descent, we walked to the side of

This is a specially designed route to prepare the necessary acclimatization to
high altitude climbing volcanoes. Its name is “llaretas” comes from the plant
that grows attached to rocks in this area, used as fuel between the herdsmen
of the area to make fire. The road starts surrounding the Cenizal hill at east of
the Geysers of Tatio, at 4.000 meters (13,123.36 feet), then descend in between
rocks on a footpath, barely marked by animal tracks. That is, until you reach the
bottom of the ravine, where the climb starts up a pass.

se encuentra este volcán el cual su cara oeste, aún sin senderos totalmente
marcados, nos muestra un escarpado ascenso. Comenzando en un antiguo
camino llaretero, empezamos a caminar a los 4.400 msnm ganando altura,
en un comienzo el camino es tranquilo con una inclinación amigable, para
llegar al último tercio y verdadero reto, en donde nos encontramos con un
camino de azufre, el cual nos brinda un hermoso desafío para poder acceder
a su cumbre.

is the reserve Humboldt Penguin National Reserve which
is composed by the islands Chañaral, Choros and Damas.

humpback whales, fin whales and blue whales, among

temple in town-, the sector of Muelle Prat (Prat Dock), the
gateway to the city from the sea and the hills: Alegre and
Concepción, an urban sector built by Germans and English

The Andes Mountain Range represents the most significant

the national identity. The mountain range is a wall that
runs along the country, separating it from the rest of the
mainland and contributing to its isolated character, far
from everybody, unreachable and exotic. The highest
section is found in the central region: in front of Santiago, it
is impressive, with hot springs, national parks, glaciers and

del hemisferio sur cubrirán el cielo. La tranquilidad, el fogón,
las guitarras y las rondas de mate en el campamento, crearan

This wilderness is flanked by the highest mountains in
America, the Aconcagua and the Mercedario. It is in
these uninhabited places, which you can only reach on
horseback, where huge herds of guanacos roam freely
and the Andean condor nests. Only in unique places
like this you can enjoy the privilege of watching them at
ease. As the sun sets, the spectacular stars of the southern
hemisphere will cover the sky. The campfire that lightens
up the darkness as you share a cup of coffee, tea or mate.

Luego del desayuno partimos en vehículo hasta Los Patos.
Este es el camino tomado por San Martín hacia Santiago,
cruzando el Valle del Aconcagua (parte importante de la
gran riqueza natural de Chile. De vegetación silvestre e
imponentes montañas) y Putaendo.
Posteriormente comenzamos con los Trámites migratorios
ante las autoridades chilenas.
Nos esperan nuestros caballos y baqueanos chilenos.
Este es el lugar de comienzo de la cabalgata hasta el
campamento de la noche en Las Tejas (2100 mts de altura).
Seguimos el curso del río Rocín sobre las vertientes del
Pacífico.
Almuerzo y Cena. Alojamiento en campamento.
Day 2: Horseback riding (Aconcagua Valley)
Transfer from Los Andes to Los Patos. This is the route taken
by San Martin´s army on his way to Santiago, through the
Aconcagua Valley and the Putaendo Valley.
At Los Patos, the Chilean horses and gauchos will be
waiting for us. Migrations at local authorities to allow us to
cross this unattended border. We ride upstream the Rocin
river to Las Tejas (2100 meters high), our first campsite.

Partimos por la mañana para llegar al límite internacional
donde están los bustos de nuestros próceres (San Martín
y O’Higgins) a 3500mts de altura. Este es el día del cruce
de frontera. En el límite nos reciben las autoridades
argentinas para hacer los controles necesarios. El cambio
de caballos es obligatorio. Nos despedimos de nuestros
arrieros y caballos chilenos para continuar montados
en los argentinos que hicieron todo el recorrido para
buscarnos. Tendremos una vista muy cercana del cerro
Aconcagua, el más alto de América (6962mts.). Noche en
campamento en Valle Hermoso, que como su nombre lo
dice, un lugar en donde sin duda quedaras maravillado.
We leave early in the morning to reach the international
border at 3500 mts. high. Changing horses is mandatory,
so we say farewell to our Chilean horses and guides and
continue our ride with an Argentine team who came riding
all the way to fetch us. We will have a very close view of the
Aconcagua Mt. (6962 mts.), the highest peak in America
and Western Hemisphere. Night at Valle Hermoso. For a
reason it is called “Beautiful Valley”.

Vamos a cabalgar por este valle para tener una vista más
cercana del cerro Aconcagua.

quedarse en el campamento y descansar o bien pescar
truchas en el río.
Day 5: Horseback riding (Valle Hermoso)
Breakfast.
We spend a second day at this heavenly spot to rest. Today
we will do a day ride along the valley to get a closer view
of Mount Aconcagua. Easy going and at your own pace. Or
you can just go fishing or stay at camp and relax.

Accommodation in Valle Hermoso camp.

Día 6: Cabalgata (Valle de Los Patos)

Continuaremos el recorrido por el Valle de Los Patos, que

prepararnos para el desafío del día siguiente.

We ride along the Los Patos Valley, which gives the name to
this pass and is an old sea bottom full of marine fossils, and
the Volcán river. We camp at 3500 mts. at Rancho de Lata
to get ready for next day challenge.

Day 7: Horseback riding (Cuesta del Espinacito)
Breakfast.
Today we cross the Espinacito Slope at 4500 mts (13 500
ft.) high. This is the highest point of the journey.
The landscape is daydreaming and makes us feel the titanic
efforts that the Army of the Andes had to overcome.
Lunch and dinner.
Camping accommodation in Peñón Colorado.
Day 8: Horseback riding (Sector de Las Hornillas)
After breakfast we ride to Las Hornillas. The challenge is
almost over and we now fully grasp the real meaning of
the crossing.
We say farewell to our horses and leave behind the
adventure. We go to Uspallata town in a minibus to spend
the night at hotel.

del vino del mismo nombre, en donde funciona 100% por
gravedad en seis niveles, cuatro de los cuales se encuentran
enterrados bajo el suelo granítico de las laderas del Valle
de Apalta, con el fin de ofrecer un entorno natural de baja
temperatura para el envejecimiento de los vinos. Siendo

El tour tomará un poco más de una hora en donde usted
será introducido al mundo winemaking, culminando éste

During the tour you will know the majestic wine called Clos

Esta viña es de tradición familiar y de arquitectura colonial,
en donde podrán degustar muy buenos vinos admirando
el paisaje del campo chileno.
El recorrido se inicia en el centro de atención de visitas “La
LLaveria”, donde los visitantes son recibidos por un guía
bilingüe, quien los llevará a dar un paseo en coche tirado
por caballos. Una vista panorámica de los viñedos los
acompañara y podrán conocer el desarrollo de las vidas
y las labores que se desarrollan de acuerdo a la estación.
La etapa siguiente es “la Bodega”, donde copa en mano,
podrán degustar vinos directamente de los estanques
mientras se interioriza de los procesos de producción de
vinos finos. La visita culmina en la tienda de vinos, donde

Your driver and guide will be waiting to meet you at your
hotel to embark on your Bike & Wine adventure! The
journey begins with a three hour drive to the high eastern
sector of the renowned Colchagua Valley, south of Chile’s
capital city Santiago.
Putting the Andes Mountains to our backs we will make
a gentle downhill ride toward the town of San Fernando,
ending our day with a tour and tasting at the family-run
Casa Silva Winery, followed by lunch. In the evening you
will settle in at Colchagua Camp, the first camping site
(five-star camping) site in the Colchagua Valley

viña Neyen es hoy en día la mezcla perfecta de tradición
y modernidad.
Saliendo de Santa Cruz durante la mañana, vamos a viajar
al oeste a lo largo de las carreteras en su mayoría planas.
Haremos una parada para degustar en una de las principales
bodegas de la región, La bodega de la Viña MontGras,
fundada a mediados de la década de 1990, y que se centra
casi exclusivamente a la producción de vinos de reserva para
la exportación.
A continuación, pedalearemos hacia la Viña Viu Manent,
donde podrá disfrutar de una deliciosa degustación, y
luego el almuerzo.

We will continue our journey in the morning, first passing
through San Fernando before traveling over back roads
winding along the Tinguiririca River before stopping at
Neyen Winery. Founded on the site of one of the region’s
pioneering wineries dating back to the 19th century, Neyen
is today the perfect blend of tradition and modernity.
Next, you’ll pedal toward the family-run ViuManent Winery
where you’ll enjoy a delicious lunch and tasting.

Heading out of Santa Cruz this morning, we will ride west
along mostly flat roads. We will make a stop for tastings
at one of the region’s top wineries, Mont Gras. Founded
in the mid-1990s, Mont Gras focuses almost exclusively on
the production of reserve wines for export.
VIK is one of the most important wine projects in the
world at this time. By adapting the best techniques to
maximize the optimal quality of the grape using cuttingedge technology and maintaining a holistic concept of
qualitative perfection, Vik will attempt nothing short of
making Chile’s first 100-point wine.

un volumen horizontal, techado a dos aguas, y un pórtico
de ingreso al templo, sobre el cual se alza una torre

iglesias, 16 de las cuales -las más representativas - son a la
vez Monumentos Nacionales de Chile y fueron declaradas

The Spaniards settled the Chiloé Archipelago by the half
of the 16th century. In 1608, the Jesuists established
chapels in different locations. The churches of Chiloé are
horizontally built with two way slope roofs and the entrance
doorway, above which a tower holds the cross and the
belfry, within an absolute symmetry. In Chiloé, there are
around 60 churches, out of which 16 -the most meaningful
- have not only been declared National Monuments of
Chile but also World Heritage by UNESCO.

Lodge Nevados de Sollipulli.

Day 1: Arrival at the lodge
We begin our adventure in the Temuco airport, from where
we will go in a comfortable transfer to the lodge Nevados
de Sollipulli Lodge. Arriving we will accommodate in its
exclusive domes and take a short hike through a pristine
forest of Araucaria and Nothofagus, the birdsong glad our
walk, then we will relax in your hot tub for dinner. We end
the day lounging on our domes.

Día 2: Excursión “Ascensión a los Nevados de Sollipulli”
Desayuno.
Nevados de Sollipulli
Preparación del equipo para iniciar el hikking, con la misión
de alcanzar la cima del Volcán Sollipulli. En nuestro caminar
transitaremos por bosques milenarios de Araucarias y
especies nativas. Luego de una hora de marcha saldremos
de estos bellos bosques y enfrentáremos las oscuras y
rojizas arenas volcánicas, llegaremos a su cima después
de tres horas de ascenso, donde el volar de los cóndores,
nos impulsarán a llegar a nuestra meta.
Iniciaremos el descenso por el mismo cañón en donde
disfrutáremos de diferentes pozones. Luego de diez
horas de aventuras llegaremos al Lodge y nos relajaremos
en su Spa.
Desde la cumbre podremos observar en trescientos
sesenta grados una vista de más de cinco volcanes y,
por supuesto, el glaciar que aloja la caldera del volcán
Sollipulli.
Day 3: Tour by the Alpehue River and geothermal field
The singing of the birds will be our wake, we will have
breakfast in the dining room with a river view Carilafquen
and equip us to go to the river Arpehue order to start a
hikking entertained by this river inside. After walking
around the inside of a canyon about one hundred meters
reach the geothermal field Alpehue where we take a break
in a river of thermal water.
Iniciaremos nuestro descenso y llegaremos después de
siete horas de aventura al Lodge, donde nos esperan
los relajantes Hot Tub y el sauna. Podrán disfrutan de un
coctel.
Day 2: Tour “Nevados de Sollipulli Ascension”
Breakfast, and then prepare our team to start the hikking,
with a mission to reach the summit of Volcano Sollipulli. In
our journey we will pass by ancient Araucaria forests and
native species. After an hour’s walk will leave these beautiful
forests and face black and red volcanic sand, we reach its
peak after three hours of climbing, where encouraged by
the flight of the condors we will drive to reach our goal.
From the top we can see three hundred sixty degrees a view
of more than five volcanoes and of course, the glacier that
hosts Sollipulli caldera volcano. This is the world’s largest in
this parallel within a volcanic caldera glacier. We begin our
descent and arrive after seven hours of adventure to the
lodge, where we expect the relaxing hot tub and sauna and
a rich cocktail, dinner and our deserved rest in the domes.

llegar al Campo Geotermal
Desayuno en el comedor con una vista al río Carilafquén.
Nos equiparemos para dirigirnos al río Alpehue, con el
fin de iniciar un entretenido Hikking por el interior de éste
río. Después de caminar por el interior de un cañón de
aproximadamente cien metros de altura, llegaremos al
campo geotérmico de Alpehue, en donde en un río de
agua termal descansaremos.

arrive at the Lodge, and we will relax in the Spa and enjoy

Día 1: Aeropuerto – Pto. Montt - Hornopirén
Llegada al Aeropuerto El Tepual, posteriormente se hace
la entrega del vehículo (previamente seleccionado). Se
sugiere que hagan algunas compras para llevar al picnic
en la navegación del día siguiente, y luego inicien el viaje
hasta Caleta La Arena (45 kms. para abordar el ferry que
en 45 minutos cruza el Estuario de Reloncaví hasta Caleta
Puelche donde continua la ruta a Hornopirén (1 hora de
viaje aproximadamente). En el trayecto están las termas
de Pichicolo, las que pueden visitar si así lo desean.
Day 1: Airport - Pto. Montt – Hornopirén
We will arrive to El Tepual Airport and then we will have the
delivery of your vehicle (previously selected). We suggest
to do some shopping to take the picnic in navigating the
next day, and then start the trip to Caleta La Arena (45km
to board the ferry crossing in 45 minutes Reloncaví Estuary
to Caleta Puelche where the route continues Hornopirén (1
hour drive approx). on the way are the Baths of Pichicolo,
which they can visit if they wish.
We will have our overnight at the Hornopirén Hotel.

Día 2: Pto. Montt – Hornopirén - Chaitén - Lago Yelcho
Salida al puerto para embarcar en el Ferry que los
trasladara a las 11:00 horas a Leptepu en una navegación
de 3 horas 30 minutos. Luego de recorrer 10 kms. Por
tierra, se embarcaran en el ferry que en 45 minutos más los
dejara en Caleta Gonzalo. Siendo las 15:30 horas nuestra
sugerencia es visitar el Sendero de los Alerces y que
continúen luego a Chaiten. Hagan un pequeño recorrido
por el poblado y continúen el viaje al Lago Yelcho.
Day 2: Pto. Montt - Hornopirén - Chaitén - Lake Yelcho
We will depart to go to the port to board the ferry wich
will take us to leptepu at 11: 00hrs. We will be navigating
for three hours and a half. Afterward we will travel by land
for 10 kilometers (6.21 MILES), we will embark on a ferry
where in 45 minutes drop us off in the Caleta Gonzalo.
At 15: 30hrs our suggestion is to visit the Sendero de los
Alerces and then continue to Chaiten. Make a little tour of
the village and continue the trip to Lake Yelcho.

Día 3: Lago Yelcho – Futaleufú
Para este día le recomendamos un viaje al poblado de
Futaleufú, un recorrido hacia el interior de la cordillera con
una variedad de paisajes donde sobre sale especialmente
el Rio Futaleufú el cual hoy se ha transformado en el
paraíso del rafting mundial.
Day 3: Yelcho Lake – Futaleufu.
For this day we recommend a trip to the town of Futaleufu,
a journey into the mountains with a variety of landscapes
where especially remark of the Futaleufu River which today
has become a paradise for rafting world.
We will have accommodation at the Yelcho Lodge.

Día 4: Lago Yelcho – Chaitén - Quellón
Salida temprano para trasladarse a Chaiten y embarcar a
las 10:00 horas en la motonave Jakaf con destino al Puerto
de Quellon en la Isla de Chiloé llegando aproximadamente
a las 15:00 horas. Para luego trasladarse a la ciudad de
Castro.
Alojamiento en Unicornio Azul.
Day 4: Yelcho Lake - Chaitén – Quellón
We will have a early depart to go to Chaiten and embark
at the motorboat Jakaf at 10:00 AM to go to the Port of
Quellon in Chiloe Island, arriving approximately 15:00
hours and then to move to the city of Castro.
We will have accommodation at the Blue Unicorn Hotel.

Estrecho de Magallanes, levantada en 1843. Hoy existe

cuarto de armas. Camino al fuerte encontrarás un hito que
representa el centro geográfico de Chile desde Arica a
la Antártica. Fuerte Bulnes está a 60 kilómetros al sur de
Punta Arenas.
The fort was the first Chilean construction in the area of
the Estrecho de Magallanes, built in 1843. Today there is
a reconstruction of the fort, a church, canyons and fourth
arms. Strong way to find a landmark that represents the
geographical center of Chile from Arica to Antarctica. Fort

400.000 ha. de hielos milenarios que dan origen a

por UNESCO, y el ventisquero que llega a ella. Es un
espectáculo asombroso ver cómo los enormes bloques
de hielo se desprenden del glaciar, y caen a la laguna,
formando miles de témpanos.
This park has 1,742,000 ha. extension, including 400,000
ha. of ancient ice that give rise to innumerable glaciers.
The big attraction is the Laguna San Rafael, declared a
Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1979, and the glacier
that reaches it. It’s an amazing sight to see as the huge
blocks of ice break off the glacier and falling into the
lagoon, forming thousands of icebergs.

Tramo 3: Cruce de media hora desde Fiordo Largo a
Caleta Gonzalo. Zarpe a las 15:30 horas.
Luego de arribar a la localidad de Caleta Gonzalo,
se continúa por la Carretera Austral hacia el sur por
aproximadamente 100 km hasta el sector del Lago Yelcho.
Antes, se sugiere realizar una caminata por el sendero de
Los Alerces.

Section 1: Daily from Hornopirén to Leptepu, departs at
10:30 hours on the barge MAILEN, with a duration of 3:30
hours.
Section 2: Trip continues by a narrow gravel road of 10
kilometers. Duration approximate 30 minutes.
Section 3: Crossing half hour from Fiord Largo to Caleta
Gonzalo. Departure at 15:30.
After arriving in the town of Caleta Gonzalo, it continues
along the Carretera Austral for about 100 km to the sector

Día 4: Descenso en Balsa Río Palena y Termas
Naturales El Sauce
Desayuno.
Salida en excursión desde La Junta y a sólo 1 km de la
localidad, se encuentra el río Rosselot, lugar en donde
se inicia la navegación. Luego de una breve charla de
seguridad, se comienza a descender el río. Después de
navegar 1 km aproximadamente, se puede observar la
confluencia del río Palena, uno de los 3 afluentes más
importantes de la región de Aysén. Luego de navegar
por alrededor de 3 horas, se llegará finalmente a la playa
del destino, en donde estará esperando el vehículo para
dirigirse a Puerto Raúl Marín Balmaceda. Tras recorrer
7 km, se accede a las termas El Sauce. Entrega de box
lunch. Posteriormente se iniciará el retorno en vehículo a
la localidad de La Junta.

of the Palena River, one of the 3 most important tributaries

you come to the beach destination, where the vehicle will
be waiting to go to Puerto Raul Marin Balmaceda. After
traveling 7 km, you reach the hot springs El Sauce. Box

Día 1: Aeropuerto Balmaceda - Lago General Carrera
(Sector Puerto Guadal) (240 km)
Entrega del vehículo en Balmaceda según condiciones de
arriendo de Rent a Car. Salida hacia el sur por la Carretera
Austral hacia el lago General Carrera e ir deteniéndose
en los principales atractivos naturales como la laguna
Chiguay, Portezuelo Ibáñez, el mirador de Cerro Castillo.
Se sugiere detenerse en la villa Cerro Castillo y almorzar
en uno de los restaurantes de la villa o bien, en el bus de La
Sole a orillas del camino. Continuación del viaje, el cual irá
bordeando el río Ibáñez, pasando por la laguna Verde, el
Portezuelo Cofré, el río Murta hasta llegar al lago General
Carrera. Un par de kms. pasado Puerto Tranquilo, en Bahía
Mansa, se inicia navegación por el lago para conocer el
Santuario de la Naturaleza Capillas de Mármol, formación
rocosa horadada por las aguas hasta formar singulares
cuevas y cavernas de gran belleza. Posteriormente a ésta
excursión, continuación del viaje por unos 45 minutos,
hasta llegar a la Hacienda Tres Lagos.
Day 1: Balmaceda airport - General Carrera Lake (Puerto
Guadal Sector) (240 km)
Balmaceda, delivery of the vehicle according conditions
of Rent a Car. Drive south along the Austral Highway to
Lake General Carrera and go stopping at the main natural
attractions such as the Chiguay lagoon, the Ibañez harbor,
the viewpoint of Cerro Castillo. It is suggested stopping
at Cerro Castillo village and have lunch at one of the
restaurants of the town or in the bus La Sole at the roadside.
Following the trip, which will go along Ibañez river, passing
by the Green Lagoon, portezuelo Cofré, the Murta River
up to Lake General Carrera. A couple of km past Puerto
Tranquilo in Bahia Mansa navigation on the lake to meet
the Natural Sanctuary Marble Chapels, rock formation
drilled by the water to form unique caves and caverns of
great beauty. Following this tour, then travel for about 45
minutes to reach the Hacienda Tres Lagos.

podremos apreciar de cerca al Huemul (ciervo surandino
en extinción). Luego dejando la reserva, se sugiere
almorzar en Cochrane (se recomienda el Café Restaurante
Ada’s). Luego se prosigue por la misma Carretera Austral
hasta llegar a la comuna de Tortel (a 128 km luego de
Cochrane), que se caracteriza por su diversidad paisajística
y belleza escénica. Aquí es posible ver fiordos, canales,
islas, humedales, bosque y montañas de quebradas
abruptas que forman parte del recorrido de los ríos Bravo,
Pascua y Baker, siendo este último el más caudaloso de
Chile. Alojamiento y cena en Caleta Tortel.
Día 4: Lago General Carrera - Coyhaique

Por la mañana se recomienda internarse hacia el oeste
por el hermoso valle donde podrá apreciar la naturaleza
en su estado natural, prístino y agreste. Después de
recorrer 50 Km, podrá iniciar una caminata de mediana
dificultad, cruzando un bosque siempre verde hasta llegar
al mirador del glaciar Exploradores, durante 20 minutos
aproximadamente. Si el tiempo lo permite, se puede
apreciar la inmensidad del Campo de Hielo Norte, el
monte San Valentín y el glaciar Exploradores.
Entrega del vehículo en Balmaceda (50 minutos de
recorrido desde Coyhaique hasta Balmaceda).
Day 2: Lake General Carrera / Caleta Tortel (205 km)
Breakfast. Drive south along the Carretera Austral to visit
Tamango National Reserve in Cochrane. There remount
the Cochrane river enjoying the beautiful scenery, for
about 40 minutes in a pot of simple but safe features, until
the dock to disembark and make a very well displayed
and middle trekking requirement for all age groups with
fitness and good health. If you are lucky, you will see close
a Huemul (South Andean Deer). Then leaving the Reserve,
we suggest lunch in Cochrane (Ada’s Cafe Restaurant is
recommended). For the same Carretera Austral continue
down to the district of Tortel (128 km after Cochrane),
characterized by its varied landscape and scenic beauty of
the fjords, canals, islands, wetlands, forest and mountains
steep ravines that are part of the Bravo, Pascua and Baker
rivers, being the last one the most abundant river in Chile.

In the morning we recommend penetrate to the west by
the beautiful valley where you can appreciate nature in its
natural, pristine and wild state. After traveling 50 Km, you
can start a walk of medium difficulty, crossing an evergreen
forest and then over a moraine to the viewing of Glacier
Exploradores, 20 minutes app. Once there, in front, if the
weather permits, you can appreciate the immensity of
the Northern Ice Field, Mount San Valentin and Glacier
Exploradores.

hora de vuelo, pudiendo ser en terreno o bien en el lodge.
Posterior al almuerzo, traslado a Balmaceda para tomar el
vuelo con retorno a Santiago.
Por la tarde regreso al lodge para disfrutar de un rico
cocktail, y posteriormente la cena. Los anfitriones y guías
mencionarán durante la cena las mejores opciones para el

Day 7: Coyhaique - Balmaceda
Breakfast between 7:30 and 8:00 a.m then choice of either
spending the morning fishing, or go into town and shop
for some. Lunch will be offered on site or at the Lodge.
Transport to Balmaceda airport where guests will be
flown back to Santiago in Time to connect with their
international flight.

impactante, con 3 glaciares que caen desde este campo
de hielo, en las aguas verdosas del lago. Almuerzo.
Transfer to Leones valley (jet boat or vehicle according
to season), trekking to the lake. Zodiac crossing the lake
and climb to Puerto Leon. We started the climb to Punta
Camello where we enjoy a charming landscape, the
mountains at the east of the Northern Ice Field. The scenery
is stunning, with 3 glaciers falling from the ice field into the
green waters of the lake. Lunch.

O’Higgins, donde se hace una caminata para acercarnos
a los pies del Glaciar Serrano. Ya de regreso en la
embarcación a 30 minutos nos detendremos a visitar al
Baqueano Marín, terminando nuestro viaje de retorno al
embarcadero del Río Serrano.
Departure from the pier to begin Serrano River in Zodiac
boats down the river, visiting the attractions that surround
Native characterized by forests, mountains and glaciers
that adorn the landscape. Then we will stop for a picnic
breakfast in Estancia Anita where a brief orientation talk
and historical and current information is performed. We
continue our journey down the Serrano River and Ultima
Esperanza Fjord. We will visit the Balmaceda Glacier,
arrival at Bernardo O’Higgins Park where a hike is made to
approach the foot of the Serrano Glacier. Once back in the
boat within 30 minutes. We will stop to visit the Baquedano
Marin. We will end our trip back to the pier of Rio Serrano.

Nos dispondremos a disfrutar de una maravillosa
excursión de “Caminata en Hielo con navegación”, la
cual tiene una dificultad media y dura aproximadamente
5 hrs. Una vez en el refugio Grey, nos dirigiremos en
Zodiac hacia la Isla llamada Nunatak. Caminaremos por
alrededor de una hora sobre ésta, para poder acceder
de manera segura al Glaciar Grey. Una vez allí, el guía te
ayudara a ajustar el equipo de hielo correctamente, el
cual consiste en un piolet, crampones y arnés. Una vez
listo podrás comenzar esta increíble caminata en hielo,
la cual durará aproximadamente 2 horas 30 minutos.
Observaremos grietas, ríos, lagunas y túneles, así como
el dragón patagónico, el único insecto que sobrevive en
el hielo glaciar.
We will have to enjoy a wonderful trip “Walk on Ice with
navigation” which has a average difficulty and It will take
about 5 hours. Once at the refuge Grey we head towards
the island Zodiac called Nunatak. We walk for about an
hour on this, to secure access to the Grey Glacier. Once
there, the guide will help you to wear the ice equipment
correctly, which consists of an ice ax, crampons and harness.
Once ready you can start this incredible walk on ice, which
lasted about 2 hours and 30 min. We observe cracks, rivers,
lagoons and tunnels as well as the Patagonian Dragon, the
only insect that survives in glacier ice.

walk in the old Land Rover of Estancia (4WD), to go to
see guanacos, rheas and foxes, without neglecting the
adventures that can live in the intricate paths of livestock
Ranch. We will cross paths and hills, looking for tracks and
cross country we will visit the viewpoints of the Condors.

Inicio de Cabalgata Salto Las Chinas, esta excursión es de
mediana dificultad por valles y cerros del sector. Saliendo
desde la estancia por una ruta similar a la que realizaron los
primeros turistas ingleses de la expedición Lady Florence
Dixie, se visitan miradores de la Laguna Azul y el salto de
agua del Rio “Las Chinas”. En un día de excursión a lomo
de caballo, recorremos la estancia siguiendo el lecho del
río de “Las Chinas” hasta una caída de agua. En el trayecto,
además de la flora y fauna locales, se aprecia una linda
vista de la laguna Azul y de las Torres del Paine desde
distintos ángulos en sus caras noreste a norte. (Duración
aproximada: 6 horas).
We will star our horse ride to Salto Las Chinas; this tour is
medium difficulty through valleys and hills of the sector. We
will depart from the Estancia to similar route that was made
by the first English tourist expedition of Lady Florence
Dixie; We will visit the viewpoints of the Blue Lagoon and
the waterfall of Rio “Las Chinas (The Chinese)”. On a day
trip on horseback, we cross the Estancia (ranch) following
the riverbed of “Las Chinas” until get the waterfall. Along
the way in addition to the local flora and fauna we will see a
nice view of the Blue Lagoon and we can watch Las Torres
del Paine from different angles in its northeast to north
faces. (Duration: 6 hours).

ovejas hasta el galpón de la estancia para posteriormente
realizar la esquila de una o dos de ellas. Los visitantes
pueden experimentar en primera persona el trabajo de
un ovejero.

shearing. This activity shows the typical work at the ranch
in Patagonia and we will see the gaucho’s works with his
sheepdogs herding a group of sheep to the shed of Ranch
to make the shearing of one or two of them shown in

firsthand the work of a shepherd.

Al sur de Puerto Natales, a una hora y media de Remota,
se encuentra esta área de pesca, que cuenta con diversos
ríos y spring creeks de aguas cristalinas, los que se recorren
sin mayor dificultad.
En los sectores de pesca hay ríos que serpentean la estepa
patagónica. En cambio, otros atraviesan bosques nativos
magallánicos de grandes lengas, que le dan una muy
buena estructura a los ríos, lo que se traduce en una pesca
llena desafíos, con muy buenas truchas, como la marrón,
de más de 2 kilos (4 pounds) o 20 inches (pulgadas).
Ninety minutes from Remota, south of Puerto Natales is this
finishing area that have several rivers of crystal clear waters
and spring creeks, which can be easily accessed without
mayor difficulties.
In some fishing areas there are meandering rivers of
the Patagonian steppe. In some other areas rivers cross
native Magellan forests which give them very interesting
structures and makes fishing more challenging. Trouts are
bigger, i.e. brown trout of more than 2kg (4 lbs.) or 20”.

hermosas montañas y valles fértiles y se encuentra muy
cerca de Remota, lo que permite realizar esta actividad en
medio día y elegir otra excursión u otro destino de pesca
para la tarde.
A 1 hora y 40 minutos de Remota, en el medio de la
estepa patagónica, custodiado por el Macizo del Paine,
se encuentra el Río Baguales, con aguas que fluyen entre
riscos y montañas, y de estructuras bien definidas y de fácil
vadeo. En sus cercanías, también se ubica “El Vizcachas”
estandarte de pesca en Remota, con sus más de 30
Km. de aguas calmas y de vigorosas truchas. Estancia o
campos privados con Acceso restringido permiten que la
pesca aquí sea muy productiva y con un paisaje natural
conmovedor propio de estas latitudes.
Calm clear waters and dense grasslands will test the
patience and tenacity of our fishing friends in the area of
Sierra Prat. In the waters of this area there are very active

In the middle of the Patagonian steppe, one hour and forty
minutes from Remota and protected by the Paine Massif
is the Baguales River who’s waters flow through cliffs and
mountains before arriving to the plains. This river has well
defined structures and easy wading. Nearby we can find El
Vizcachas River a bastion in the history of fishing at Remota,
with its more than 30km of calm waters where the trout are

Día 1: Parque Marino Francisco Coloane
Aproximadamente a las 07:00 Horas. el Forrest fondeará
al interior de Seno Helado, al lado sur de Isla Santa Inés,
frente a su imponente Glaciar. Durante la mañana se
hará una excursión en zodiac al pie del muro de hielo y
un desembarco en uno de sus costados. Durante el resto
del día se navegará por el Canal Bárbara, los alrededores
de Isla Carlos III y Seno Ballena, para los avistamientos de
ésta y otras especies del área.
Este Parque es la primera Área Marina Protegida de
nuestro país y fue bautizada “Parque Marino Francisco
Coloane”, en honor al escritor nacional amante de estas
tierras. Aquí se podrá apreciar lobos y elefantes marinos,
delfines, pingüinos, petreles, albatros, cormoranes y la
magnífica ballena jorobada, principal atractivo de nuestro
viaje entre otras especies.
Noche 2: Parque Marino – Punta Arenas
Ya entrada la noche y mientras se desarrolla la cena en el
Forrest, se emprenderá el regreso a Bahía Carrera. Temprano
por la mañana, y posterior al desayuno se procederá al
desembarque, para luego finalizar con el traslado a la ciudad
de Punta Arenas.

Day 1: Francisco Coloane Marine Park
At approximately 07:00 Hrs. Forrest anchor into Seno
Frozen, south side of Santa Ines Island, compared with its
imposing glacier. There will be a zodiac excursion at the
foot of the ice wall and landing in one of its sides during
the morning. During the day it will sail by Barbara Channel,
around Carlos III Island and Seno Ballena, for sightings of
this and other species in the area.
This park is the first marine protected area of our country
and “Francisco Coloane Marine Park” is named in honor of
the lover of these lands national writer. Here you will see
wolves and elephant seals, dolphins, penguins, petrels,
albatross, cormorants and the magnificent Humpback
Whale, the main attraction of the trip among other species.

Posteriormente ensillado de los caballos y armado
de pilcheros (caballos de carga) para salir al primer
campamento o rancho tras 3 a 4 horas de recorrido
aproximadamente.
Luego, levantamiento de campamento, ensillado de los
caballos y armado de pilcheros (caballos de carga) para
retornar a la Estancia con los animales.
Al llegar a la Estancia nos esperaran con un rico almuerzo
o cena de camaradería, según la hora de llegada (es
relativa ya que en el trabajo con animales, pueden ocurrir
percances).
En el camino puede estar la posibilidad de encontrar
animales, los que trataremos de atrapar.
Llegando al rancho comeremos algo liviano mientras
el cocinero arma campamento, el almuerzo y nosotros
salimos a rastrear más animales. De regreso al campamento

En dos horas de caminata, sucesivos ascensos de 3 pasos

los Dientes de Navarino, llegando en su ladera Sur. Vista
sobre la bahía Nassau y las Islas Wollaston, de las cuales
forma parte el Cabo de Hornos. Luego de bordear varios
lagos, ascenso hacia el paso Ventarrón (696 m.), con una
impresionante vista sobre la ladera sur de los Dientes de
Navarino y los montes Codrington. Suave descenso hasta
subir el modesto paso Guerrico y alcanzar luego la laguna
Martillo, sitio del segundo campamento. Caminata en
terreno rocoso durante todo el día.

In two hours walking, climbing of 3- step (716, 800 and 765
m.) allowing the cord through the Dientes de Navarino,
arriving in its southern slope. View of the Wollaston Islands
and Nassau Bay, which is part of Cape Horn. After skirting
several lakes, climbing to Ventarrón pass (696 m.), with a
breathtaking view on the south side of the Teeth of Navarino
and Codrington mountains. Gentle descent to raise the
modest Guerrico pass and reach the Martillo lagoon, place
of the second camp site. Hike on rocky terrain throughout
the day.

greeted and transfer to Hotel Jose Nogueira.

Mountain range Darwin, small canals of southern and

During the afternoon we will visit Omora Ethnobotanical

Luego, a un costado de la Base Frei conocerás Villa Las

Posteriormente se realizará una navegación en bote tipo
Zodiac a la Isla Ardley para visitar colonias de pingüinos
Papúa, para observar cómo viven éstas aves que no

Luego seguiremos con la navegación por los alrededores
del Glaciar Collins, para apreciar la belleza e inmensidad
de éste.
Continuaremos con la visita a la Iglesia Ortodoxa, en la base

Posteriormente se realizará una navegación en bote tipo
Zodiac a la Isla Ardley para visitar colonias de pingüinos
Papúa, donde observarás cómo viven éstas aves que no

Día 2: Isla Rey Jorge - Punta Arenas
Luego seguiremos con la navegación por los alrededores
del Glaciar Collins, para apreciar la belleza e inmensidad

localizado 397 Moais, en diferentes etapas del tallado o

Nestled in the crater of the Rano Raraku volcano lies the
quarry from which volcanic stone blocks were extracted to
carve the Moais. At this archaeological site, more than 397
statues have been found, showing different etching stages,
or they had been abandoned during transportation.
Isla de Pascua y Robinson Crusoe son las 2 islas, junto con
la de Chiloé, más conocidas de Chile.
Isla de Pascua, denominada por sus habitantes Rapa Nui o
Te Pito Te Henua, es la isla habitada más remota del mundo.
Fue declarada Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad por la
UNESCO el año 1995, y es hoy un enorme museo al aire
libre: Moais, Ahus y petroglifos, son los vestigios de una
cultura desaparecida en forma misteriosa.
La Isla Robinson Crusoe, es la isla principal del Archipiélago
Juan Fernández. Es un Parque Nacional y fue declarada
Reserva de la Biosfera en el año 1977 por la Unesco.
Cabe destacar que es mucho más abundante en especies
endémicas que la Isla Galápagos.
· Los Moai (Isla de Pascua) | The Moai (Eastern Island)
Los Moai son monumentales estatuas de piedra y
constituyen la expresión más relevante de la cultura Rapa
Nui. La estatua es un torso masculino, de nariz larga y
orejas alargadas. El número total de Moais en la Isla de
Pascua es de 887. En promedio, tienen 4 metros de alto y
pesan 14 toneladas. El Moai más grande que está erguido
se encuentra en el Ahu Te Pito Kura, tiene una altura de
9.80 metros y un peso estimado de 82 toneladas. Como
contraste, el Moai parado más pequeño se encuentra en
Poike, y tiene una altura de sólo 1.13 metros.
The Moai are monumental stone statues, representing the
most significant expression of the Rapa Nui culture. The
statue is a male torso, with long nose and lengthened ears.
The total number of Moais in Easter Island is 887. They

The Ceremonial Village of Orongo (Eastern Island)
Orongo es un centro ceremonial, en el que se realizaban
prácticas religiosas relacionadas con el culto al hombrepájaro y al dios Make Make, como lo atestiguan
innumerables petroglifos en el lugar. Está compuesta
por 53 estructuras de albañilería con forma elíptica, en
la cima del volcán Rano Kau. La aldea está parcialmente
restaurada y tiene un entorno imponente, frente a los
islotes Motu Nui, Motu Iti, Motu Kaokao, entre el borde del
cráter del Rano Kau y el acantilado sobre el mar.
Orongo is a ceremonial center, related to the religious
practices of the bird man cult and god Make Make, as
shown for the great amount of petroglyphs found in the
area. It consists of 54 masonry elliptical structures on the
summit of the Rano Kau volcano. The village is partially
restored and has a stately scenery in front of the islets:
Motu Nui, Motu Iti, Motu Kaokao, between the edge of the
Rano Kau crater and the cliff over the sea.

Actualmente es el mejor lugar para observar la isla en su
totalidad. Se encuentra en el Cerro Portezuelo, desde el
cual, por un lado, se ve la Bahía Cumberland, San Juan
Bautista y el Cerro Centinela, mientras que hacia el otro se

que fueron sacadas del Unicornia, un barco en el que
viajaban ingleses directamente a Juan Fernández, con la
misión de encontrar el afamado tesoro oculto. Al oeste de

las ruinas de la casa de un marinero que viajaba en el

Es un buen lugar para hacer trekking, pues hay senderos
que se internan en el bosque endémico. Si se tiene suerte
se puede observar el Picaflor Rojo de Juan Fernández, una
especie propia de la isla, que anida en la plazoleta durante
cierta época del año. Extremo centro sur de Robinson
Crusoe.
It is located at the foot of Cerro El Yunque, and contains the
ruins of the house of a sailor who was traveling in Dresden,

Day 1: Arrival at the Lodge
Cumberland Bay is the place where the staff at the lodge
will welcome us and then move to the loge. At the Lodge
we are going to have the accommodation and welcome
drink.
