Intergenera onal Faith Forma on: our next evening is
this Wed. Nov. 4th; 5:30 supper (“Pot-Luck”—please
bring a dish to share); 6:00 sessions begin. The focus of
the night will be the Catholic Social Teaching “Op on
for the Poor & Vulnerable.” We will also have someone
come to talk with each of the groups about the “Giving
Tree”─ what happens to the gi s that we put under the
tree; what places benefit from this?
Any ques ons, please contact Sr. Mary Peters at
“Poor in spirit” is confusing for many of us.
It simply means to place your trust in God,
putting His will first and being strong in faith.
As we celebrate the lives of the saints of All Saints
Day, remember, we, too are called to be saints.
Dialing down our own pride and ego and turning up
the humility will help us on our path to sainthood.

La expresión “pobre en espíritu” nos confunde. Simplemente significa confiar en
Dios, poniendo Su voluntad primero y siendo fuerte en nuestra fe. Mientras celebramos la vida de los santos en el Día de Todos los Santos,

ser santos. Dejar de lado nuestro orgullo y ego y ser más
humildes nos ayuda en nuestro camino a la santidad.

Es un concepto que fue introducido por el Papa Juan XXIII cuando
él convocó el Concilio Vaticano II y que el Papa Francisco ha
adoptado con entusiasmo. Cuando los obispos de todo el mundo se
reúnen para hablar de evangelización a las familias en este nuevo
milenio, ciertamente habrá puntos de vista e interpretaciones
diferentes. Pero el Papa Francisco nos ha recordado a todos que
ser iglesia y seguir sus enseñanzas deben comenzar con una actitud
de misericordia. El Papa Francisco ha descrito la iglesia como un
hospital de campaña que necesita cuidar a su rebaño herido. Al
concluir este Sínodo, la Iglesia espera a ver si todas las heridas
