Use this appliance only for its intended purpose as described in this Owner’s Manual.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following:
■ This refrigerator must be properly installed

flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity
of this or any other appliance.
NOTE: We strongly recommend that any servicing be
performed by a qualified individual.
■ Turning the control to the
(off) position
does not remove power to the light circuit.
■ In refrigerators with automatic icemakers,
avoid contact with the moving parts of the
ejector mechanism, or with the heating
■ Do not refreeze frozen foods which have
thawed completely.
DANGER! RISK OF CHILD ENTRAPMENT
PROPER DISPOSAL OF THE REFRIGERATOR
Child entrapment and suffocation are not
problems of the past. Junked or abandoned
refrigerators are still dangerous…even if they
will sit for “just a few days.” If you are getting
rid of your old refrigerator, please follow the
instructions below to help prevent accidents.
Before You Throw Away Your Old
Refrigerator or Freezer:
■ Take off the doors.
■ Leave the shelves in place so that children
may not easily climb inside.
USE OF EXTENSION CORDS
Because of potential safety hazards under
certain conditions, we strongly recommend
against the use of an extension cord.
However, if you must use an extension cord, it is
absolutely necessary that it be an approved 3-wire
grounding type appliance extension cord having a
grounding type plug and outlet and that meets
local regulations and standards. The electrical
rating of the cord must be 15 amperes (minimum)
and 120 volts.

WARNING!
HOW TO CONNECT ELECTRICITY
Do not, under any circumstances, cut or remove the third (ground) prong from the power cord. For
personal safety, this appliance must be properly grounded.
The power cord of this appliance is equipped
with a 3-prong (grounding) plug which mates
with a standard 3-prong (grounding) wall outlet
to minimize the possibility of electric shock
hazard from this appliance.
Have the wall outlet and circuit checked by a
qualified electrician to make sure the outlet is
properly grounded.
If the outlet is a standard 2-prong outlet, it is
your personal responsibility and obligation to
have it replaced with a properly grounded
3-prong wall outlet.
The refrigerator should always be plugged into
its own individual electrical outlet which has a
voltage rating that matches the rating plate.
This provides the best performance and also
prevents overloading house wiring circuits which
could cause a fire hazard from overheated wires.
Never unplug your refrigerator by pulling on the
power cord. Always grip plug firmly and pull
straight out from the outlet.
Repair or replace immediately all power cords
that have become frayed or otherwise damaged.
Do not use a cord that shows cracks or abrasion
damage along its length or at either end.
When moving the refrigerator away from the
wall, be careful not to roll over or damage the
power cord.
USE OF ADAPTER PLUGS
Because of potential safety hazards under certain conditions, we strongly recommend against
the use of an adapter plug.
However, if you must use an adapter, where local
codes permit, a temporary connection may be made
to a properly grounded 2-prong wall outlet by use
of an approved adapter that meets local
regulations and standards.
The larger slot in the adapter must be aligned with
the larger slot in the wall outlet to provide proper
polarity in the connection of the power cord.
When disconnecting the power cord from the
adapter, always hold the adapter in place with
one hand while pulling the power cord plug with
the other hand. If this is not done, the adapter
ground terminal is very likely to break with
repeated use.
If the adapter ground terminal breaks, DO NOT
USE the refrigerator until a proper ground has
been established.
Attaching the adapter ground terminal to a wall outlet
cover screw does not ground the appliance unless the
cover screw is metal, and not insulated, and the wall
outlet is grounded through the house wiring. You should
have the circuit checked by a qualified electrician to make
sure the outlet is properly grounded.

The controls on the refrigerator have either numbers or letters.

Setting the Controls
Initially, set the fresh food control at 5
and the freezer control at 5 or C and
allow 24 hours for the temperature to
stabilize.
Control settings will vary based on
personal preferences, usage, and
operating conditions and may require
more than one adjustment.
Moving the freezer control to OFF or
stops cooling in both the fresh food and
freezer compartments but does not shut
off electrical power to the refrigerator.

The Electronic Monitor and Diagnostic System controls dispenser functions and monitors the operation of your
refrigerator. On some models, the controls will look like one of the following.

When Your Refrigerator Is First Plugged In
All panel lights come on for five seconds,
a beep sounds, and lights go off except
as follows:
■ PF flashes in the display. Touch
SYSTEM CHECK-RESET to erase it.
■ NORMAL glows.
■ WARM TEMP glows until the refrigerator
cools down. It goes off when proper
food-keeping temperature is reached.
DOOR ALARM
ON/OFF
■ Door alarm beeper is activated and
DOOR ALARM glows.
■ CRUSHED ICE glows.
■ DOOR OPEN flashes if either door is
open, goes out when doors are shut.
■ Night light in ice and water dispenser
is off.
How to Set the Door Alarm
To set the alarm press DOOR ALARM
until it glows.
The control beeps if either door is
open for more than 30 seconds.
The light goes out and the beeping
stops when you close the door.
Why the WARM TEMP Light Glows
WARM
TEMP
At first, it’s probably because your newlyinstalled refrigerator hasn’t completely
cooled down yet. Wait a few hours for it
to cool, and then the light will go out.
From then on, WARM TEMP will glow
whenever temperatures inside get too
high for proper food storage. If this
happens, open the doors only when
absolutely necessary, and close them
as quickly as possible.
As soon as inside temperatures return to
normal, the light goes out.
If WARM TEMP reappears and stays on
for longer than 4 hours, call for service.
How the Monitor and Diagnostic System Works
SYSTEM
CHECK
RESET
The diagnostic code flashes and the
control beeps when something starts to
go wrong.
If more than one coded function requires
attention at the same time, the one with
the highest priority will be displayed first.
Pressing SYSTEM CHECK-RESET will erase
two codes immediately—PF and CI. The
dE and FF codes can only be erased by
pressing SYSTEM CHECK-RESET after the
condition that caused the code to flash
has been corrected.
SYSTEM CHECK-RESET will also evaluate
all other coded functions. If NORMAL is
lit during the displaying of a code, that
function is operating properly.

What the Codes Mean
Check your frozen food. Has any of it started to thaw? A package may be holding the
freezer compartment door open. Don’t open the door more often than absolutely
necessary while this code is displayed. Touching SYSTEM CHECK-RESET after the
freezer compartment temperature has returned to normal will erase the code.
Power to the refrigerator has been interrupted for more than two seconds. Check the
condition of food in both the fresh food and freezer compartments. Touch SYSTEM
CHECK-RESET to erase the code.
There is no fault with the refrigerator when the PF code flashes.
Check the icemaker. Ice clumps in the storage bin may have stalled the icemaker.
Follow corrective measures described in Troubleshooting Tips. If water supply to the
icemaker is not connected or not turned on, make sure the icemaker feeler arm is
in the STOP (up) position. The code stops flashing when problem is corrected or
SYSTEM CHECK-RESET is touched.
Something is wrong with the defrost system—keep doors closed to retain cold and call
for service. The code flashes until problem is corrected.

About the water filter cartridge. (On some models)

every six months or earlier if the flow of

About the shelves, baskets and bins.
Spillproof Shelves
Spillproof shelves have special edges to
help prevent spills from dripping to
lower shelves.
Slide-Out Spillproof Shelf
The slide-out spillproof shelf allows you
to reach items stored behind others.
Make sure you push the shelves all the way back
in before you close the door.
Quick Space Shelf
This shelf splits in half and slides under
itself for storage of tall items on the shelf
below.

To remove: Lift bin straight up until
mounting hooks disengage.
To replace or relocate: Select desired shelf
height, engage bin’s hooks in slots on the
tracks of the door, and push in. Bin will
lock in place.

or sliding of small items stored on the
door shelf. Place a finger on either side
of the divider near the front and move it
back and forth to fit your needs.

Adjustable bins can easily be carried

To remove: Tilt the bin up and pull out
on the molded supports until it comes
completely out of the door.
To replace or relocate: Select desired shelf

in the bins. Then, grasping the bin at
each end, push in at the bottom as you

Detachable shelf extenders deepen and
enclose fixed door shelves, providing
more storage room and greater storage
flexibility.
To remove: Lift the shelf extender straight
up until the mounting hooks come out of
the slots in the door.
To replace: Line up the hooks with the
slots in the door and push in and down.
About the additional features. (Not all features are on all models.)
Quick Serve™ System
CAUTION: Dishes and lids are not
designed for use on the range top,
broiler or in the regular oven. Such
use can be hazardous.
Quick Serve™ dishes fit into a spacesaving rack under the shelf. The rack
can be relocated anywhere in the fresh
food compartment.
Dishes and lids are safe for use in
microwave ovens, refrigerators and
freezers.
Do not use when cooking high-fat foods,
such as bacon, and high-sugar foods, such
as candy and syrup. The high temperatures
of the fat and sugar can cause bubbles to
form on the inside of the dish.

to the most useful location for your
family’s needs.

Set control lever down to the coldest
setting to store fresh meats. If lever is left
in meat position for a long period of
time, some frost may form on the inside
of the drawer.
Set control lever up to convert the drawer
to normal refrigerator temperature and
provide extra vegetable storage space.

selected.

Drawers can easily be removed by tilting
up slightly and pulling past the stop
location.
Remove the door bins from the fresh food door
before removing the drawer.
When replacing the drawers, make
sure you slide them through both
drawer guides on the right or left
side depending on your model.
To remove the shelf above the top
drawer, first remove the top drawer and
any food on the shelf. Then tilt the shelf
up at the front and lift it up and out of
the tracks.
To replace the shelf, raise the shelf front
slightly and place the top hooks in the
lowest large track slots. Then lower the
front of the shelf until it is level.
To remove the drawers when the fresh
food compartment door cannot be
opened fully you need to roll the
refrigerator forward until the door can
be fully opened. In some cases this will
require moving the refrigerator to the
left as you roll it out.

About the refrigerator doors.
Refrigerator Doors with Special Opening/Closing Feature (on some models)
The refrigerator doors may feel different
than the ones you are used to. The special
door opening/closing feature makes sure
the doors close all the way and are
securely sealed.
The resistance you feel at the stop
position will be reduced as the door
is loaded with food.
When opening and closing the door you
will notice a stop position. If the door is
opened past this stop point, the door
will remain open to allow you to load
and unload food more easily. When the
door is only partially open it will
automatically close.
When the door is only partially open
it will automatically close.
Beyond this stop the door will
stay open.

About the refreshment center. (On some models)
The Refreshment Center Compartment stores frequently used items.
When open, the Refreshment Center door provides a convenient work surface.
Although durable, the work surface should not be used as a cutting board. Close the
door when finished. The upper fresh food compartment light will come on when the
Refreshment Center door is opened.
The special design of the door allows you to tilt and lift up the door in order to clean
the bottom of the frame.
NOTE: Use caution in closing or using the clean-out feature in the presence of small children.

Cold air entering from the freezer compartment keeps the temperature in the
Refreshment Center Compartment at proper food-keeping levels.
The bin panel limits the amount of cold air that escapes when the Refreshment
Center door is opened. To reach food from the inside, lift the panel up.
To remove the Refreshment Center bin, first remove the panel using the hand holds.
Then remove the bin by lifting it up and out.

About the automatic icemaker.
A newly-installed refrigerator may take 8 to 12 hours to begin making ice.

On some models the icemaker is in back,
on others it is on the side.

The icemaker will produce eight cubes
per cycle—approximately 120 cubes in a
24-hour period, depending on freezer
compartment temperature, room
temperature, number of door openings
and other use conditions.

If the refrigerator is operated before
the water connection is made to the
icemaker, keep the feeler arm in the
STOP (up) position.

When the refrigerator has been connected
to the water supply, move the feeler arm
to the ON (down) position.
The icemaker will fill with water when it
cools to freezing. A newly-installed
refrigerator may take 8 to 12 hours to
begin making ice cubes.
Throw away the first few batches of ice to
allow the water line to clear.
Be sure nothing interferes with the swing
of the feeler arm.
About the ice and water dispenser. (On some models)
To Use the Dispenser
Press the rim of the glass gently against
the dispenser pad.
Select CUBED ICE
, CRUSHED ICE
(on some models) or WATER
.
The spill shelf is not self-draining. To
reduce water spotting, the shelf and its
grille should be cleaned regularly.
Spill Shelf
If no water is dispensed when the refrigerator is
first installed, there may be air in the water line
system. Press the dispenser pad for at least two
minutes to remove trapped air from the water
line and to fill the water system. To flush out
impurities in the water line, throw away the
first six glassfuls of water.
A light switch (on some models) turns
the night light in the dispenser on or off.
The light also comes on when the
dispenser pad is pressed. The light in the
dispenser should be replaced with a 7
watt maximum bulb when it burns out.
CAUTION: Never put fingers or any other
objects into the ice crusher discharge
opening.

About the ice and water dispenser. (On some models)

To remove:
Rotate
Lift the left corner to free the bin from
the shelf and pull the bin straight out
while supporting it at front and rear.
To replace:
Slide the bin back until the tab on the
bin locks into the slot on the shelf. If the
bin does not go all the way back, remove
it and rotate the drive mechanism 1/4
turn. Then push the bin back again until
the tab on the bin locks into the slot on
the shelf.

Important Facts About Your Dispenser
■ Add ice before filling the glass with a
beverage.
■ Do not add ice from trays or bags to
the storage bin. It may not crush or
dispense well.
■ Avoid overfilling glass with ice and use
of narrow or extra-tall glasses. Backedup ice can jam the chute or cause the
door in the chute to freeze shut. If ice
is blocking the chute, poke it through
with a wooden spoon.
■ Beverages and foods should not be
quick-chilled in the ice storage bin.
Cans, bottles or food packages in the
storage bin may cause the icemaker
or auger to jam.

■ Some crushed ice may be dispensed
even though you selected CUBED ICE.
This happens occasionally when a few
cubes accidentally get directed to the
crusher.
■ After crushed ice is dispensed, some
water may drip from the chute.
■ Sometimes a mound of snow will form
on the door in the ice chute. This
condition is normal and usually occurs
when you have dispensed crushed ice
repeatedly. The snow will eventually
evaporate.
■ Dispensed water is not ice cold. For
colder water, add crushed ice or cubes
before dispensing water.
Care and cleaning of the refrigerator.

Cleaning the Outside
Refreshment Center Compartment door—
outside. It’s important that you use only
window cleaner without ammonia or a
damp cloth to clean the glass and trim.
Avoid using wax on the Refreshment
Center door.
The dispenser well, beneath the grille,
should be wiped dry. Water left in the
well may leave deposits. Remove the
deposits by adding undiluted vinegar
to the well. Soak until the deposits
disappear or become loose enough to
rinse away.
The dispenser pad. Clean with warm
water and baking soda solution—about a
tablespoon (15 ml) of baking soda to a
quart (1 l) of water. Rinse thoroughly
and wipe dry.
The door handles and trim. Clean with a
cloth dampened with soapy water. Dry
with a soft cloth.
The stainless steel panels and door handles
(on some models) can be cleaned with a
commercially available stainless steel
cleaner using a clean, soft cloth.
Keep the outside clean. Wipe with a clean
cloth lightly dampened with kitchen
appliance wax or mild liquid dish
detergent. Dry and polish with a clean,
soft cloth.
Do not wipe the refrigerator with a soiled dish
cloth or wet towel. These may leave a residue
that can erode the paint. Do not use scouring
pads, powdered cleaners, bleach or cleaners
containing bleach because these products can
scratch and weaken the paint finish.
HINT: Open the freezer door part way to prevent
dispensing of ice or water when cleaning.
Cleaning the Decorator Door Panels (on some models)
Clean these panels using an anti-static
cleaner or a mild detergent and water.
(Look for anti-static cleaner in electronic
or computer departments.) Rinse
thoroughly and blot dry with a clean,
damp cloth or chamois. Do not use paper
towels to wash or dry the panels. Do not
use cleaners that contain solvents, such
as ammonia, because they can damage
the panels.
Shallow scratches and abrasions can be
corrected with a good grade of hard
automobile paste wax. The wax will fill in
any minor surface scratches and will help
to maintain the luster of the panels.
Apply the wax sparingly and buff lightly
with a clean, soft cloth using a circular
motion. Do not use a cleaner/wax
combination.
Cleaning the Inside
To help prevent odors, leave an open box
of baking soda in the fresh food and
freezer compartments.
Unplug the refrigerator before cleaning.
If this is not practical, wring excess
moisture out of sponge or cloth when
cleaning around switches, lights or
controls.
Door Magnets
Use warm water and baking soda
solution—about a tablespoon (15 ml)
of baking soda to a quart (1 l) of water.
This both cleans and neutralizes odors.
Rinse and wipe dry.
Door magnets (on some models) can be

cleaning, remove bottom freezer basket
and flush a solution of baking soda—
1 teaspoon (5 ml) and 2 cups (500 ml)
of hot (not boiling) water— through the
drain line with the help of a meat baster.
This will help eliminate odor and reduce
the likelihood of a clogged drain line.
If drain becomes clogged, use a meat
baster and baking soda solution to force
the clog through the drain line.
Behind the Refrigerator
Be careful when moving the refrigerator
away from the wall. All types of floor
coverings can be damaged, particularly
cushioned coverings and those with
embossed surfaces.
When pushing the refrigerator back, make sure
you don’t roll over the power cord or icemaker
supply line (on some models).
Pull the refrigerator straight out and
return it to position by pushing it straight
in. Moving the refrigerator in a side
direction may result in damage to the
floor covering or refrigerator.
Under the Refrigerator
For most efficient operation, keep the
area under the refrigerator clean. Remove
the base grille and sweep away or vacuum
up dust.
Clean the condenser coils at least
once a year.

Preparing for Vacation
For long vacations or absences, remove
food and unplug the refrigerator. Move
the fresh food control to the

position, and clean the interior with a
baking soda solution of one tablespoon

If the temperature can drop below
freezing, have a qualified servicer drain
the water supply system (on some

Water Supply to the Icemaker (on some models)

A water supply kit (containing copper tubing,
shutoff valve, fittings and instructions) is
available at extra cost from your dealer.
Refrigerator Location
Do not install the refrigerator where the
temperature will go below 60°F (16°C)
because it will not run often enough to
maintain proper temperatures.
Install it on a floor strong enough to support it
fully loaded.

Remove the base grille by pulling it out of the bottom. Follow the directions that apply to your model.

Door Alignment (available on some models)
After leveling, make sure that doors are even at the top.
To make the doors even, adjust the fresh food door. Using a 3/16″ Allen wrench or a 5/16″ socket wrench
(depending on model), turn the door adjusting screw to the right to raise the door, to the left to lower it. (A nylon
plug, imbedded in the threads of the pin, prevents the pin from turning unless a wrench is used.) After one or two
turns of the wrench, open and close the fresh food door and check the alignment at the top of the doors.

Normal operating sounds.
Depending on the placement of the refrigerator in your kitchen,
you may want to place a piece of rubber backed carpet under
the refrigerator to reduce noise.
The new high efficiency compressor runs faster and will have a higher pitch
hum or pulsating sound while operating.
Defrost timer and refrigerator control click on and off.
The fan circulating air inside the freezer which keeps the temperatures
throughout.
Water dropping on the defrost heater causing a sizzling, hissing or popping
sound during the defrost cycle.
The flow of refrigerant through the freezer cooling coils sounds like boiling
water or a gurgling noise.
Cracking or popping of cooling coils caused by expansion and contraction
during defrost and refrigeration following defrost.
Water dripping as it melts from the evaporator and flows to the drain pan
during the defrost cycle.
Icemaker (on some models)
The icemaker water valve will buzz when the icemaker fills with water. If the
feeler arm is in the ON (down) position it will buzz even if it has not yet been
hooked up to water. Keeping the feeler arm in the ON (down) position
before it is hooked up to water can damage the icemaker. To prevent this,
raise the feeler arm to the STOP (up) position. This will stop the buzzing.
These sounds are normal and are
due mostly to highly efficient
operation.
The sound of cubes dropping into the bin and water running in pipes as
icemaker refills.

Mabe México S. de R.L. de C.V., offers you the following warranty under the following points:
■ To
make this warranty effective, no major requisites will be required other than the presentation of the
product and the corresponding warranty in the place where it was acquired or in any service center
indicated on the reverse, in which you will be able to obtain the repairs and parts for your product.
■ Mabe
México S. de R.L. de C.V. is obligated to repair or to replace the product if it cannot be repaired,
and also to replace any defective part or component without additional cost to the consumer,
including labor and transportation expenses derived from its obligation within its service net.
■ The
repair time in no case will be more than 30 days counted from the time the product is received in
any place where this can be done.

cómo usar y mantener su refrigerador adecuadamente. Sólo un
poco de cuidado preventivo de su parte le puede ahorrar una
gran cantidad de tiempo y dinero a través de la vida del
refrigerador.
Usted encontrará muchas respuestas a problemas comunes
en la sección Antes de Llamar para un Servicio. Si usted revisa
primero nuestra tabla de Consejos para Detectar Problemas,
es posible que no necesite llamar para un servicio.

PRECAUCIONES DE SEGURIDAD
Cuando use aparatos eléctricos, se debe seguir precauciones básicas de seguridad, incluyendo
lo siguiente:
■ Este refrigerador debe ser instalado y ubicado
adecuadamente de acuerdo a las Instrucciones
de Instalación antes de ser usado.
■ No permita que los niños se suban, se paren o
se cuelguen de las bandejas del refrigerador.
Podrían dañar el refrigerador y herirse a ellos
mismos.
■ No toque las superficies heladas en el
compartimiento del congelador cuando tenga
las manos húmedas o mojadas. La piel se
podría pegar a estas superficies
extremadamente frías.
■ No almacene o use gasolina u otros vapores o
líquidos inflamables en la cercanía de este o
de cualquier otro aparato electrodoméstico.
■ En los refrigeradores con hieleros automáticos,
evite el contacto con las partes móviles del
mecanismo eyector, o con los elementos de
calor que sueltan los cubos. No ponga los
dedos o las manos sobre el mecanismo
automático para hacer hielo mientras el
refrigerador está enchufado.
■ Mantenga los dedos fuera del alcance de las
áreas donde se podrían apretar; los espacios
entre las puertas y entre las puertas y los
gabinetes son necesariamente pequeños.
Tenga cuidado al cerrar las puertas cuando
hayan niños en el área.
■ Desenchufe el refrigerador cuando lo limpie
y le haga reparaciones.
NOTA: Recomendamos fuertemente que cualquier servicio
sea hecho por un individuo capacitado.
■ El colocar el control en la posición
(apagado) no corta el poder eléctrico al
circuito de la luz.
■ No recongele los alimentos congelados que
han sido descongelados completamente.

¡PELIGRO! RIESGO DE QUE UN NINO QUEDE
ATRAPADO
COMO DESHACERSE DEL REFRIGERADOR ADECUADAMENTE
El que un niño quede atrapado y se sofoque no
es un problema del pasado. Los refrigeradores
que se han botado o han sido abandonados
todavía siguen siendo peligrosos... aunque se
dejen así por “sólo unos días”. Si usted se está
deshaciendo de un refrigerador viejo, por favor
siga las instrucciones de más abajo para ayudar
a prevenir accidentes.
Antes de botar su refrigerador o congelador
viejo:
■ Saque las puertas.
■ Deje las bandejas en su lugar para que los
niños no se metan fácilmente a él.
USO DE CORDONES DE EXTENSION
Debido a los posibles peligros de seguridad bajo
ciertas condiciones, aconsejamos fuertemente
contra el uso de un cordón de extensión.
Sin embargo, si usted debe usar un cordón de
extensión, es absolutamente necesario que sea
un tipo de cordón de extensión aprobado para
aparatos electrodomésticos de 3 alambres para
hacer tierra y que tenga un tipo de enchufe que
haga tierra y un receptáculo que cumpla con las
regulaciones locales y normales. El valor
eléctrico del cordón debe ser de 15 amperes
(mínimo) y de 120 voltios.

¡ADVERTENCIA!
COMO CONECTAR LA ELECTRICIDAD
No, bajo ninguna circunstancia, corte o saque la tercera pata (para hacer tierra) del cordón
eléctrico. Para la seguridad personal, este aparato debe hacer tierra adecuadamente.
El cordón eléctrico de este aparato está equipado
con un enchufe de 3 patas (para hacer tierra)
que se enchufa en un receptáculo de pared
normal para 3 patas (para hacer tierra) para
minimizar la posibilidad del riesgo de un golpe
de corriente de este aparato.
Haga que un electricista capacitado revise el
receptáculo y el circuito de pared para
asegurarse que el receptáculo hace tierra
correctamente.
Si el receptáculo es un receptáculo normal para
2 patas, es su responsabilidad y obligación
personal de hacerlo reemplazar por un
receptáculo de pared para 3 patas que haga
tierra adecuadamente.
El refrigerador debería estar siempre enchufado
en su propio enchufe eléctrico individual que
tenga un valor de voltage que coincida con la
placa de valores.
Esto provee el mejor funcionamiento y también
previene que el alambrado del circuito de la casa
se sobrecargue lo cual podría causar un peligro
de incendio debido al recalentamiento de los
alambres.
Nunca desenchufe el refrigerador tirando el
cordón. Siempre agarre el enchufe firmemente y
tírelo derecho hacia afuera del receptáculo.
Repare o reemplace inmediatamente todos los
cordones eléctricos que se empiecen a pelar o a
dañar. No use un cordón que muestre partiduras
o daños de abrasión a lo largo o en cualquiera de
las puntas.
Cuando aleje el refrigerador de la pared, tenga
cuidado de no aplastar o dañar el cordón
eléctrico.
USO DE ADAPTADORES PARA ENCHUFES
Debido a los posibles peligros de seguridad bajo ciertas condiciones, aconsejamos fuertemente
contra el uso de adaptadores para enchufes.
Sin embargo, si usted debe usar un adaptador,
donde lo permitan las leyes locales, se puede
hacer una conexión provisoria hacia un
receptáculo de pared de 2 patas que haga tierra
adecuadamente a través del uso de un adaptador
aprobado que cumpla con las regulaciones locales
y normales.
La abertura más grande del adaptador debe estar
en línea con la abertura más grande del
receptáculo de pared para proveer la polaridad
correcta en la conexión del cordón eléctrico.
Cuando desconecte el cordón eléctrico del
adaptador, siempre sujete el adaptador en su
lugar con una mano mientras tira el cordón
eléctrico con la otra mano. Si no hace esto, es
posible que el terminal para hacer tierra del
adaptador se quiebre con el uso repetido.
Si el terminal para hacer tierra del adaptador se
quiebra, NO USE el refrigerador hasta que
nuevamente haga tierra correctamente.
El pegar el terminal para hacer tierra del adaptador al
tornillo de la cubierta del receptáculo de la pared no hace
que el aparato haga tierra a menos que el tornillo de la
cubierta sea de metal, y no aislado, y que el receptáculo
de pared haga tierra a través del alambrado de la casa.
Usted debería hacer que un electricista capacitado revise
el circuito para asegurarse que el receptáculo hace tierra
adecuadamente.

Cómo poner los controles
Inicialmente, ponga el control para la
comida fresca en 5 y el control del
congelador en 5 o C y espere 24 horas
para que la temperatura se estabilice.
Las posiciones del control variarán basadas
en las preferencias personales, uso, y
condiciones de funcionamiento y podrían
requerir más de un ajuste.
El colocar el control del congelador en
APAGADO o
detiene el enfriamiento
en ambos compartimientos para la
comida fresca y el congelador, pero no
corta el paso de la electricidad al
refrigerador.

El Sistema Electrónico de Control y Diagnósticos controla las funciones de dispensación y controla el

Cómo poner la alarma de la puerta
Para poner la alarma empuje DOOR
ALARM hasta que se encienda.
El control suena si cualquier puerta está
abierta por más de 30 segundos.
La luz se apaga y los sonidos paran
cuando usted cierra la puerta.
Por qué la luz WARM TEMP se enciende
WARM
TEMP
Primero, es probablemente porque su
refrigerador nuevamente instalado no
se ha enfriado completamente todavía.
Espere unas pocas horas para que se
enfríe, entonces la luz se apagará.
Desde ese momento, WARM TEMP se
encenderá cada vez que la temperatura
interior está demasiado alta para guardar
la comida adecuadamente. Su esto pasa,
abra las puertas sólo cuando sea
absolutamente necesario, y ciérrelas
lo más rápido posible.
Tan pronto como la temperatura interior
vuelva a lo normal, la luz se apaga.
Si WARM TEMP reaparece y permanece
encendida por más de 4 horas, llame
para un servicio.
Cómo funciona el Sistema de Control y de Diagnóstico
SYSTEM
CHECK
RESET
El código de diagnóstico pestañea y el
control pitea cuando algo empieza a
funcionar mal.
Si más de un código de función requiere
atención a la misma vez, el que tiene
mayor prioridad aparecerá primero.
Empujando SYSTEM CHECK-RESET
borrará dos códigos inmediatamente—
PF y CI. Los códigos dE y FF se pueden
borrar solamente empujando SYSTEM
CHECK-RESET después que la condición
que causó que el código pestañeara ha
sido corregida.
El SYSTEM CHECK-RESET también
evaluará todas las otras funciones
codificadas. Si NORMAL se enciende
durante la aparición de un código, esa
función está operando correctamente.

Qué significan los códigos
Revise los alimentos congelados. ¿Ha alguno empezado a descongelarse? Un paquete
podría estar causando que la puerta del compartimiento del congelador esté abierta.
No abra la puerta más a menudo de lo que sea absolutamente necesario mientras se
muestre este código. Tocando SYSTEM CHECK-RESET después que la temperatura del
compartimiento del congelador haya vuelto a lo normal borrará el código.
La electricidad al refrigerador ha sido interrumpida por más de dos segundos. Revise las
condiciones de los alimentos en los compartimientos para comida fresca y congelador.
Toque SYSTEM CHECK-RESET para borrar el código.
No existe una falla en el refrigerador cuando el código PF pestañea.
Revise el productor de hielo. Pedazos de hielo en el cajón de almacenaje podrían haber
detenido el productor de hielo. Siga los procedimientos correctivos descritos en
Consejos para Detectar Problemas. Si la línea del agua al productor de hielo no está
conectada o abierta, asegúrese que el brazo sensor del productor de hielo está en la
posición STOP (ARRIBA). El código deja de pestañear cuando el problema es
corregido o cuando se toca SYSTEM CHECK-RESET.
Algo está malo en el sistema para descongelar–mantenga las puertas cerradas para
mantener el frío y llame para un servicio. El código pestañea hasta que el problema
está corregido.

Acerca del cartucho del filtro de agua. (En algunos modelos)

cualquier lado del divisor cerca del frente
y muévalo de un lado a otro de acuerdo a
sus necesidades.

Cajones sobre el compartimiento para comida fresca de la puerta (continuación)
Los cajones ajustables se pueden llevar
fácilmente del refrigerador al área de
trabajo.
Para sacar: Levante el frente y tire hacia
afuera por sobre los soportes hasta que
se suelte completamente de la puerta.
Para reemplazar o colocar nuevamente:
Seleccione la altura deseada para la
bandeja, enganche el cajón en los
soportes moldeados de la puerta y deslice
el cajón hacia adentro. El cajón quedará
enganchado en su lugar.
El divisor ayuda a prevenir que los
artículos pequeños guardados en la
bandeja de la puerta se den vuelta, se
derramen o se resbalen. Ponga un dedo a
cualquier lado del divisor cerca del frente
y muévalo de un lado a otro de acuerdo a
sus necesidades.
Para sacar los cajones fijos, primero saque
la comida de los cajones. Luego, tomando
los cajones de cada lado, empuje hacia
adentro por el fondo a medida que
levanta y tira por arriba.
Bandejas profundas en el compartimiento del congelador
Bandejas sacables extendibles le dan
profundidad y rodean las bandejas fijas
de la puerta, proveyendo más espacio y
flexibilidad para el almacenaje.
Para sacar: Levante el extendedor de
bandeja derecho hacia arriba hasta que
los ganchos de montaje salgan de las
ranuras de la puerta.
Para colocar nuevamente: Ponga los
ganchos en línea con las ranuras de la
puerta y empuje hacia adentro y hacia
abajo.
Acerca de accesorios adicionales.
(No todos los accesorios son para todos los modelos.)
Sistema para Servicio Rápido
PRECAUCION: Los platos y las tapas no
están diseñados para ser usados sobre
las estufas, asadores o dentro de hornos
normales. Tal uso podría ser peligroso.
Los platos para Servicio Rápido calzan
dentro de la parrilla para ahorrar espacio
debajo de la bandeja. La parrilla puede
ser colocada nuevamente en cualquier
compartimiento para comida fresca.
Los platos y las tapas son seguros para
ser usados en los hornos microondas,
refrigeradores y congeladores.
No los use cuando cocine alimentos con
mucha grasa, tales como tocino, y comidas
con mucha azúcar, tales como caramelos y
jarabes. Las altas temperaturas de la grasa
y del azúcar pueden causar que se formen
burbujas dentro del plato.

El compartimiento del centro de refrescos almacena artículos que se usan
frecuentemente.
Cuando se abre, la puerta del centro de refrescos provee una superficie de trabajo
conveniente. Aunque es durable, la superficie de trabajo no se debería usar como una
tabla para cortar. Cierre la puerta cuando termine. La luz del compartimiento para
comida fresca superior se encenderá cuando la puerta del centro de refrescos
se abra.
El diseño especial de la puerta le permite levantar y sacar la puerta para limpiar el
fondo del marco.
NOTA: Tenga cuidado cuando cierre o use la función para la limpieza en presencia de
niños pequeños.

El aire frío que entra del compartimiento del congelador mantiene la temperatura

contengan blanqueadores porque estos productos
pueden rayar y debilitar el acabado de la pintura.

Limpie estos paneles usando un
limpiador antiestático o un detergente
suave y agua. (Busque limpiadores

Estos sonidos son normales y
se deben mayormente a un
funcionamiento altamente
eficiente.
La válvula de agua del hielero hará un ruido cuando el hielero se llena con
agua. Si el brazo sensor está en la posición ON (abajo) hará un ruido aunque
no haya sido conectado al agua todavía. El poner el brazo sensor en la
posición ON (abajo) antes de que sea conectado al agua puede dañar el
hielero. Para prevenir esto, levante el brazo sensor a la posición STOP
(arriba). Esto detendrá el ruido.
El sonido de los cubos cayendo al cajón y el agua corriendo por los tubos
cuando el hielero se rellena.

hacer efectiva la garantía, no podrán exigirse mayores requisitos, que la presentación del
producto y la póliza correspondiente en el lugar donde fue adquirido o en cualquier centro de servicio
indicados al reverso, en los cuales podrá obtener las refacciones y partes para su producto.
■ Mabe
México S. de R.L. de C.V. se obliga a reparar o cambiar el producto si no es reparable, así
como a reemplazar cualquier pieza o componente defectuoso sin costo adicional para el consumidor,
incluyendo mano de obra y gastos de transportación que deriven de su cumplimiento dentro de su
red de servicio.
